I wish the BIG 3 would offer a Sport/Cruiser.....modern cab, retro stepside with a wooden floor, V8, 450 HP, modern cab with a retro dash and wooden steering wheel.

I have a 87 R10 and a 87 K30 Dually that I would love for Chip to get in his shop! Either truck would be great.
I would love to see Chip overhaul a mid 1960s AMC Marlin. With the body and lines of the Marlin and Chips talents at painting and striping cars, the Marlin would be a great candidate for Overhaulin!!! Also, how about overhauling a 1971 AMX, for all of the same reasons as the Marlin? Both cars could be monumental with Chip's talents!!! :)

They're not the same truck. The one on the beginning of the video is a 3/4 ton, and the one at the end is a 1/2. But it is a very beautiful truck.
Nice catch!! I just spotted it... 8 lugs denotes a 3/4 ton... and only 5 on the overhauled one.... and unless I’m mistaken in 71 the half ton trucks had 6 lugs not 5..... my old man had a 69 and i’m pretty sure I remember a 6 lug bolt pattern
It's entirely possible they took the 3/4 ton running gear off and swapped it for 1/2 ton parts, I'm sure parts are much more easily available for 1/2 ton gear like disc brake conversion kits and so on. But I'd rather have the 3/4 ton personally

..it is a 3/4ton and they make disc brake kits, etc that are for the 8 lug...but at the end it is a 5 lug truck. Is it the same truck?

This was just a before and after video they didn't really show them building the truck.
He could overhaul my 3/4 ton 86 GMC Serria Classic. It's hopefully going to get done some day before I croak. And he could take his time 2 - 3 weeks wouldn't bother me.

My ex-wife has 78 grand prix sitting on her driveway. It was her brothers. He died, drowned at 18. In front of her. She refuses to sell. She was like 10 at time. Shes 40 now. Shes a dental office manager. Has my 3 kids. Maybe Overhaul?

I can only dream of having my old truck restored to that extent, maybe some day if I win the lottery or maybe some long lost relative leaves me in their will. But I guess us Canadians don't have nothing like overhauling here in the great white north, my old Chevy will last until I get some time and money to put into her, my old girl is patient!
