It’s disturbing to see the comments on his video from people saying he did this because he knows COVID isn’t real, therefore he wasn’t in danger. In an atmosphere like we have in the US right now when it comes to COVID, he really needed to consider this from a more mature perspective.

    • @SkillUpMobileGaming

@@IJustWantToUseMyName If you think about it, people who know COVID-19 is real _and_ don't follow the guidelines are much more morally bankrupt than people who truly, from the bottom of their heart, falsely believe that COVID-19 isn't dangerous or isn't real. Although those people are more dangerous to people around them (they don't take any precautions unless forced to), at least they aren't doing it _with the knowledge_ that they're harming and possibly killing others. It takes a truly selfish person to know exactly what they're doing, to be well informed about every single risk to other people, and to follow through on their risky behavior anyway and without caring. Truly disturbing.

      @@SkillUpMobileGaming Absolutely agree. Well said.
It’s the ones who were unsure, who needed that voice of reason that Doctor Mike has been providing until now, that will suffer from this. His ‘I’m young, I’m healthy, I’m not hurting anyone but myself’ reasoning will stick in their minds much more easily than his previous messages of caution. He was completely irresponsible on this. For a doctor to even suggest that the situation was a matter of only hurting himself shows, as you said, selfishness and a lack of moral fortitude.

He did a collab with Brad Mondo recently about scalp issues and it really solidified by dislike of him because first of all, he's not a dermatologist...you don't see Dr. Dray talking about diabetes just because she's a doctor. She knows her speciality. And second of all, as someone with scalp psoriasis myself, I knew nothing he was saying was even helpful or provided any help for people struggling with it. He didn't touch on the prescription medications available (oral and topical) for dealing with it when it's really bad. It was ”shampoo your hair and just be patient.” I don't like that he agrees to make videos on things he has surface level knowledge about. I feel this way too about Kati Morton making videos all these different mental health issues when she's a licensed therapist who should have a specialty and can't be an expert on every mental health issue

My issue with this situation is, he was making videos in which he answered questions like "If we make a party and uphold all the CDC guidelines, can we still be partying, and his answer was a NO"
People went to him for there guidance and answers because they got mixed messages from the White house. I don't take his video as an apology or think that he is sorry because of two points.
Point number 1. he saw the person taking a picture, and he was well aware he was not wearing a mask-like no one else in that picture. So he either was Stupid enough to think that this will not be posted on the internet.
Point number 2. he knew what would happen, he knew it would be posted, but in his mind, he was thought that he would pivot the situation somehow, and everyone will still like him. Because this is a trait, we all can see in people with huge followings, be that for their looks, their way of speech or being able to spread a story.
Be it as it is, I don't think he is stupid, I think this was an attempt like we see in all the so-called "Influencers, cult leaders, religious fanatics, etc." once they have a following they think that the rules do not apply to them. They do whatever they want to do, and if there is a bump in the road in their head it is like "sheep will believe what I tell them to believe".
But these are just my two cents on this whole fiasco... :)

Impressed how you deliver brief, well thought out, and well put summations. Most analysts are lengthy + too wordy, and lack genuine spontaneity by requiring propped preparation 📖 notes just beyond the camera to obviously simply read to viewers. Thank you for all your consistent, current, relevant and THOUGHTFUL content that’s forthright and honest.

I didn't know anything about this.... it comes to the old say: "Do what I say, don't do what I do"! I really don't care about those people on the boat, they exactly knew what they were doing.... the main issue here is that Dr Mike has a job which deals with a lot of people every day!! I hope at least that he does a proper quarantine before going to work.

    • @carolineswitzenberg3307

Yes because he was around people that he didn't know. Those people could have Covid 19 and he could get the virus. So I honestly think that he needs to do the quarantine to go get tested for and stay at home until he gets the results that he is clear that he's positive because if he goes out and does his job and he knows that he's going to affect all his employers at work and even his patients and the people at the hospital. Also his Father who is at high risk and his lady friends.

@@mmmtacobaguett The issue is that it takes up to 14 days for the virus to show on the test, although the person be might infected already because is still in its incubation phase. And I don't believe any of these people waited 2 weeks after the test to attend this party. That's why so important the social distancing and masks.

@@RaquelSantos-hj1mq people are calling him out because his actions contradict what he’s been preaching. There’s over 50+ videos that he’s made about Covid. He has told his viewers “Covid does not discriminate;” hence, although you are young and healthy you should still practice public safety. He also told his viewers not to attend or throw a mini party during the pandemic even if there is social distancing and mask wearing. Lastly, he told his audience that negative Covid test isn’t a free pass to do restricted activities and only get tested if you suspect of having the virus. People are upset over the hypocrisy. We need to acknowledge this was not a mistake but a choice. A choice with consequences.

@@RaquelSantos-hj1mq lol how do his words not contradict what he’s been preaching? I just listed everything he contradicted. Furthermore, every choice has a direct consequence. Whether it’s a positive consequence or negative consequence is up to the choice that you made. If receiving or giving criticism gives people a 2nd grader status, I’m fine with the that. As adults we are all accountable for our actions. As adults in the pandemic we hold each other as a community accountable. See car crashes are not infectious nor are they comparable to the level of National urgency for public safety.

Everyone slips up. However it’s not great when someone slips up by being a hypocrite. I was really disappointed because I really looked up to him. He’s not some random celebrity who’s famous for no reason other than being rich. He spreads a good message. His apology wasn’t great either.
I didn’t unsubscribe though. It’s his first slip up and I think he deserves the benefit of the doubt. Still, I’m upset.

I think I’ll stay subscribed because he didn’t deliberately hurt anyone. But the quality of Dr. Mike’s content is often quite lacking in accuracy. He gives people bad advice and then is too up his own a** to post corrections.

I look forward to the day when one of these influences researches 'apologies', finds your excellent 'how to' instruction and completely nails it!
