I was surprised so few tech youtubers talked about these Superglide skates. I did the same upgrade 4 weeks ago on my Viper Ultimate and wow is it a game changer. I had to lower my sensitivity since my mouse feels so light all of a sudden. I cannot stress this enough, it. feels. amazing. Especially on a Cordura mouse pad. I love my Viper Ultimate. I've had it since Christmas 2020. All the changes they made almost make it seem not as good as the original one I feel like. I don't care for the USB C because I always put mine on the dock anyway, I love the grip sides. The RGB is in fact useless except when it starts flashing red to let you know you're going to need to cut your session short lol. I personally play at 500 DPIs and use it otherwise at 2000 DPIs so I really don't need 30K! Battery is still great. The Viper Ultimate is already a great mouse, 10/10 choice when youre a lefty and want wireless. The added dpi switch button on the bottom makes it so easy to switch between dpi ( my dpi ranges mostly between 1200 and 1600 dpi, and when I want to fool around I switch it to 20k because Im like that =P ) But all the companies doing pro versions of their ambidextrious mice and making them only for right-handed people sucks, like the G Pro Ultralight or whatever its name is... So many great mice and I keep missing out :(

@@firellio070 The GPW for sure, the GPX is a bit better but once in a while some of the mice do have mushy clicks (especially the side buttons). Omron switches are a pain to bin.
The Viper is by far the best mouse ive ever used. I have both the 8k and the Ultimate. I dont think ill get the V2 Pro, i like the fact it has optional rubber grips and USB-c but the removal of a dock and the extra side buttons is kind of a game changer for me.
Shape is and will always be king I tried many mice. Always came back to the DeathAdder. Only mouse that doesn't hurt my hands and is big enough for me. And with the v2/v2 pro the sensor really makes a difference IMO. Shit's snappy as hell.
i still rock my viper ultimate on my desk, and the regular wired viper on my laptop for travel. if i could find those superglides for the wired viper id be set.
I don't think I'll personally be switching. The reduced weight is the only major upgrade I see, and one that I probably wouldn't notice much given my casual style of gaming, while everything else "new" about it is just taking away the stuff I LIKE about the mouse and one of the reasons I went for it. Sure the lighting can't be seen underneath the palm but it's nice to have for the aesthetic as well as when I'm typing or watching or doing other things (like right now when I'm typing this comment). The higher DPI won't be used for me (I personally use 2,000 DPI). I really like the charging dock except for that sort of "hit or miss" charging, I think instead they should have somehow updated that instead of removing it. I like the grips, and although I think that the inclusion of the grip stickers would fix this issue, I still don't think it beats having it ON the mouse itself. That all being said, to each their own and I am more than happy sticking to my V1 Viper Ultimate while they improve it for other people. EDIT: The White V2 though does look TONS better though so that's at least one more bonus for the White Version
I tried the viper ultimate but really doesn't like the mushy click comparing to logitech switch, plus the 2 side button stop clicking after just a month or 2 of daily use Ps.forgot to mention their crappy charging station using 2 gold pins, instead of wireless charging, 80% of time it doesn't work if you just put it on there the first time, you have to push the mouse down and sometime twist it just to charging properly
The Viper Ultimate was a game changer for me with the optical switches. I broke the right click on 3 other mice, a Razer Mamba and 2 Logitech wireless, before buying the RVU.
i've played pc games for as long as there have been pc games and i just found out that i love the naga pro. I swap the side off because i don't play anything that needs 12 mouse buttons, but it's the most ergonomic mouse for my hand ever. i keep worrying that they'll never make another one because it's not a popular style for them irrationally because it's so perfect and i'm insane
I've been using the Razer Mamba Hyperflux with Firefly mousemat for the last few years. Wireless without charging and a choice of two mousing surfaces. Best of all worlds for me.
I recently just picked up a Razer Viper Ultimate and I love hands down best wireless mouse hell even maybe the best mouse I ever owned and I change mice all the time
I have the Viper Ultimate and Basilisk Ultimate... Viper Ultimate's Battery is like 2-3x as long as Basilisk. Probs cause less RGB. But everytime I game with Basilisk... I always die. I absolutely can't get use to the Basilisk. So now it's my secondary mouse. Which I'll use when I'm not gaming. Just watching tv shows. Or maybe playing a PVE game like Elden Ring.
The reason that companies are giving the option for higher DPI is that it has been proven that your mouse is more accurate when running at a higher DPI. What a lot of gamers suggest is to lower your in-game settings/windows pointer settings, but run with a very high DPI.
Don't know if you noticed but the side buttons look like they stick out more than the original viper. Alot of people hated the side buttons on the viper ultimate because they were so flush with the mouse. Anywho great video my boy and I can't wait to try the viper v2 :)
I just bought the viper ultimate from micro center for 80 bucks and even though the v2 is about to come out with better weight and charging I think it was a steal, saved 70 bucks. Also Ive had my model O for around 2 years so it’s def a nice upgrade
I love the Viper Ultimate but I have huge hands so it got painful after a while. So I switched to the Basilisk Ultimate. If Razer pulls a Glorious & makes a Model D style Viper Ultimate I'm all in! No dock with the new version is a def let down. The nightly docking option is what makes me keep the Basilisk Ultimate on my desk.
@@foxrootking5077 yeah, I understand why they did (why most companies do) but still I’d like to see a lefty option. Even if it was a different lefty version I’d still satisfied, just like the naga X
Basilisk ultimate is my favorite, i have a viper mini as well. Cannot wait for viper v2 pro, still want to buy the viper ultimate. Each shape has its benefits, even between ALL the different viper models. Damn them superglide skates look so sick.
the highest dpi ive ever used was 3000, now im at 400 and i aim for an 18 inch 360 ingame. the reason gaming mice show insanely high dpi is usually because it needs to have a better sensor that can detect the tinest movements to be able to smoothly use those higher dpis, otherwise it will stutter
Is it for sure that these leaks are for a "V2"? I feel like this looks more like an intended "X Hyperspeed" model of the Viper, much like they did for the Basilisk X Hyperspeed priced around $60-70 USD (which I've even seen as low as $30). There are no dock pins, no additional side buttons, and no grips, so it feels like they may be drastically cutting cost in order to sell aa cheaper mouse en masse, maybe even below $50 USD. The RGB missing is the biggest cue to me that it's meant to be a cheaper hyperspeed model, because, well, it's *Razer*. No RGB is very much not their thing, except for on minimalistic office-style products.
I had a crush on the Razer Viper Ultimate. But I love the Glorious Model O Wireless. Having owned a few Razer products, I will never go back to Razer. They always make me think twice about their reliability.
Frank I would love to know what you do for a living aside from the youtube career. Your video skills are just incredible and you clearly have an eye for this stuff and I've always just been curious what other things you do with your skills ?
I had the Viper Ultimate for about a year and was very happy with it. Now I use the Basilisk V3 and even though it's totally different than the Viper Ultimate, I much prefer it as it just fits better in my hand. I game at 5500 DPI which is more than enough for me.
Agree the Aerox shape and feel is top notch. Thank god they fix the feet. Dont know what they were thinking before. Steel series makes some great shit but sometimes like all companies they just make a weird move. I love where the market is going and The RVU is def a top pick even though i light the superlight a bit more. I dont think the left handed thing is a big deal. Im left handed but actually still use a mouse right handed just because growing up wasnt alot of options.
"Does anyone game higher than like 12000?" Hi🤗 I do.. crazy right? It's definitely a challenge, and I absolutely love it. 12000 is my current with the Fnatic Bolt, but have gone up to a max of 38000 with the Cooler Master MM731. For me, it all started with using 25600 on the Superlight. The experience is a whole different level of accuracy, and is definitely not for everyone. Requires the utmost control of well.. your hand/mouse.
I might actually get that paint and use it on my keyboard case, it makes me think of my relationship with my bf. The color fade corresponds to the colors of our characters. C:
Sure, the viper ultimate is cool, and the viper v2 would be cool as well, but I really really want a mamba v2 or something The mamba was the best shape ever :O
I don't know about the new one...I like the additional buttons on the left side, I use them with my pinky, it's awkward at first, but coming from a g502, I just thank god I have additional buttons. The weight is tempting, and the RGB is not something I'm gonna miss, but I don't think it's gonna be a worthwhile upgrade if you already have a Viper Ultimate.
If you like the viper I think you'll like the basilisk ultimate with the grip tape and skates I keep going back and ordering the next version. I highly recommend it
I have both and they are totally different mice. For FPS games, the Basilisk is really not the best option. The dimensions and the weight of the Viper Ultimate are game-changing compared to the Basilisk's.
@@slizzle.280 tbh I went from the viper to the basilisk for FPS games and it's still definitely usable. Don't get me wrong, I can see why everyone is obsessed with weight but it doesn't make as much of a difference as ppl say IMO, I still can't really decide which one I like more. I play just as well with the basilisk despite it being a bit heavier since the shape feels nicer and I can actually click the side buttons properly in game :P
@@Thetoxicbuster213 yeah the side buttons are for sure a big issue for me, which is why I’m happy looking at the leaked pics (you can see they are a bit more out than the V1’s). That being said, my thing with low weight (and I certainly don’t lack strenght since I have a pretty strong build and I do a mix of Bodybuilding and Powerlifting, lol.) is more about the small footprint and the ease with flicks and control. The Viper just feels better under my hand when flicking and especially when controlling recoil, since I mix fingertip and claw grips. With the huge P⭐️ size of the Basilisk, it doesn’t feel as easy to do these things - I still miss the clutch button doe.
I'm on the same case! lol I tried a lot of Logitech including the G pros, but man, the shape of the VU. Nothing gives me the confortable feeling that the VU gives, and the performance is right there with any other mouse.
don't mind the charging dock, mine doesn't work anymore since 2 years xD but the mouse is still performing great! also yeah I hate the rubber grips, it becomes worse than a soap whenever you start to sweat a bit. And I used my mouse so much that I've worn the rubber to the point i've reached the plastic under.
You should use high dpi and low sensitivity in game. It was tested that 1600dpi has 5ms lower latency than 400dpi. Plus DPI is basically a resolution of your sensor so high dpi and low sensitivity is better for small movement on top of lower latency.
So basically, Razer took a look at what Logitech did with the Superlight and said, hey let's do that to the Viper, but with USB-C!!.
And still no qi charging :(

Does the optical v2 buttons on the 8k viper are significantly better than those on the first viper which are squeaky.
@@zorancvetkovic7204 they fixed the V1's putting gen 2 switches in them, batch numbers help.
Gotta be using a $200,000 cinema camera…. He has the best quality videos I’ve seen on my iPhone.
ive had my viper ultimate for a little over a year now and I absolutely love the shape and will definitely be buying this
Just bought Razer Viper 8k ESL Edition
I hope we will see a cyberpunk edition of this mouse, bc the viper ultimate cyberpunk is my favourite.
The glass skates revitalized that mouse for me.
I feel the same with the deathadder V2. Love the weight and shape.
Shape is and will always be king
I tried many mice.
Essentially, Razer just took what Logitech did with the super light, but made it generalized towards finger tip grip using USB- C on the Viper. Epic
I tried the viper ultimate but really doesn't like the mushy click comparing to logitech switch, plus the 2 side button stop clicking after just a month or 2 of daily use
Ps.forgot to mention their crappy charging station using 2 gold pins, instead of wireless charging, 80% of time it doesn't work if you just put it on there the first time, you have to push the mouse down and sometime twist it just to charging properly
The dock was one of the main reasons I bought the viper ultimate. A shame they ditched it on the V2.
Do you recomend the Razer Viper 8K?
This just shows how different everyone is, I tried so hard to like and literally for a week wasn't able any mouse...
Glad I’ve been waiting to upgrade my mouse. Definitely going to wait now and see how this one turns out.
same here lol. was about to buy the g303 shroudy
Another chuckle-worthy intro, great.
Frank: Mods his Viper, Razer: ALRIGHT NEW VIPER BOYS GET READY!
I game at 400 dpi with low in game sensitivity. Thanks for posting this video now I can kind of prepare for the release and buy before it sells out.
The Viper Ultimate was a game changer for me with the optical switches. I broke the right click on 3 other mice, a Razer Mamba and 2 Logitech wireless, before buying the RVU.
And…. I’m still waiting for the viper mini wireless release
i've played pc games for as long as there have been pc games and i just found out that i love the naga pro.
I recently just picked up a Razer Viper Ultimate and I love hands down best wireless mouse hell even maybe the best mouse I ever owned and I change mice all the time
love the viper ult side grip and rgb that im using, battery is more than enough with the dock.
800 dpi the best ;D
i LOVE the basilisk ult. its got more weight then the viper and since i play all my games at -4600 dpi its just perfect
That intro almost had me ready to play Marvin's Room by Drake🥺
honestly i think the viper ultimate is a solid mouse as is. But now hearing there is coming a v2 is groundbreaking
Would buy it immediately if it had side buttons on both sides. Getting another RVU just in case.
I’m hoping that it keeps going down in price once the v2 is released. Then I’ll pick one up.
I game at 400 DPI.
@@DogsAreGods yea but it’s very minimal
Lol you gonna have to run at a .003 sensitivity in game then, and a lot of games don’t let you fine tune the sensitivity at that scale 😂
higher dpi has lower latency as well. 1600 is considered the sweet spot in that regard.
@@Triannosaurus that's mostly retro games or games from a few years back.
Don't know if you noticed but the side buttons look like they stick out more than the original viper. Alot of people hated the side buttons on the viper ultimate because they were so flush with the mouse. Anywho great video my boy and I can't wait to try the viper v2 :)
Dpi on my G305: 600 - 1500 - 2200. At 1440p / Apex / Pubg / Gtav / Doom E.
I have the razer basilisk v3 which is the wired version of the ultimate, I couldn’t justify spending 40 percent more only for wireless
@@hman6159 To each is own ... I prefer wireless so I'm willing to pay.
companies be competing for higher dpi when I'm chilling with 400 dpi
Missed ur intros haha great vid
As a lefty, I’m definitely disappointed by the removal of the right-hand side mouse 4 and 5
I mean 99% of people use it on right hand
@@foxrootking5077 yeah, I understand why they did (why most companies do) but still I’d like to see a lefty option. Even if it was a different lefty version I’d still satisfied, just like the naga X
I'm right handed but use the left and right side buttons.
Dave's gonna fanboy over this clean white Viper V2 Pro!
Basilisk ultimate is my favorite, i have a viper mini as well. Cannot wait for viper v2 pro, still want to buy the viper ultimate. Each shape has its benefits, even between ALL the different viper models. Damn them superglide skates look so sick.
I hope they also release a Viper Mini V2 Wireless.
Its an endgame mous3
Thanks for your amazing vidoes and reviews frank it really helps me a lot!!
the highest dpi ive ever used was 3000, now im at 400 and i aim for an 18 inch 360 ingame. the reason gaming mice show insanely high dpi is usually because it needs to have a better sensor that can detect the tinest movements to be able to smoothly use those higher dpis, otherwise it will stutter
The dock was good and convenient. Less cable mess.
And here i am waiting for a naga upgrade.
Even better, a scimitar v2 wireless !
No more stupid side grips is GREAT tho
Intro got frank feelin some typa way
I had a crush on the Razer Viper Ultimate.
I game at 5500 DPI which is more than enough for me.
did my guy say he uses 5500 dpi
@@porcpine I can't drive 55. 😉
Razer mice are so damn comfy.. idk what it is about them. Plz Razer, grant my viper mini wireless wishes!
"Does anyone game higher than like 12000?"
Hi🤗 I do.. crazy right? It's definitely a challenge, and I absolutely love it. 12000 is my current with the Fnatic Bolt, but have gone up to a max of 38000 with the Cooler Master MM731. For me, it all started with using 25600 on the Superlight. The experience is a whole different level of accuracy, and is definitely not for everyone. Requires the utmost control of well.. your hand/mouse.
Also.. you could mix and match different, currently available, Superglides to put on the upcoming Viper V2.
I am definitely getting the razer viper v2 pro. The weight was the only thing that held me from getting it.
I might actually get that paint and use it on my keyboard case, it makes me think of my relationship with my bf. The color fade corresponds to the colors of our characters. C:
For those who are wondering: When added all together, the Harry Potter books contain 1,084,171 words.
We need a refreshed Viper 8K and a Viper Mini with 8K too!
Sure, the viper ultimate is cool, and the viper v2 would be cool as well, but
I really really want a mamba v2 or something
The mamba was the best shape ever :O
Now can we get a 50gram Viper Mini Ultimate, please, Razer? 😌
What is that on buttons 1 and 2 on the mouse? 1:54 is that a special edition or are those decals of some kind?
...Did ya watch the video Mike? Did ya?
@@randomfrankp i watched but I didn’t listen, is that what went wrong here?
I want a light weight basilisk with the original v1 clutch length. End game for me for sure
I'm on the same case! lol I tried a lot of Logitech including the G pros, but man, the shape of the VU.
Nothing gives me the confortable feeling that the VU gives, and the performance is right there with any other mouse.
same man, I bought D - wireless but always comes back to my RVU, I love it so much (plus the fact that my gf gifted me that mice)
don't mind the charging dock, mine doesn't work anymore since 2 years xD but the mouse is still performing great! also yeah I hate the rubber grips, it becomes worse than a soap whenever you start to sweat a bit.
