I Have as well. I watch Red Poppy Ranch and think, dang, wish Dave Whipple would do a homestead channel as well. Heath Skinner has done an amazing job with his property.
I love that double drop D guitar tuning in your vid's !! I like your stuff, esp. camping, but the background music is just what I like to play. Does Dave have a soundtrack ?? Because ... sometimes I just sit and play (for 50+ years) and that drop D music Dave has playing is just the type I like to play when the party's winding down and I'm just sittin' there playing in the background. Dave's background music is beautiful!
Dave has got to be one of the best YT narrators of his own videos! You can watch and listen to him the whole day. So refreshing while his work is so satisfying! Always 100% quality videos!
I've been watching you since like four years ago and since then, me and my dad been looking at land to build a cabin on, and now it's so weird watching your videos after buying land and building our first 10 by 12 shed on it. It's a weird sense of accomplishment, and during that entire journey from dreaming of owning a nice plot of woods up north, to building our first structure, I've just been watching your videos, but now it hits different. Past me from four years would have been so proud! Dave, You've been a huge inspiration throughout my journey!
The wife built us two queen sized beds from some rough cut pine we had. She found a couple of designs she liked and in a few hours had one bed built. She used a gray paint wash so the wood grain shown through and it looks amazing. We built our entire home ourselves using rough cut pine from our 30 acres. We had some Amish sawyers cut it for us and we built the house ourselves. Saved SO much money on just the wood alone. A Big box store was going to charge us around $11,000 for the wood which was inferior to begin with. The only thing we ended up buying was the subflooring and zip siding/roof sheathing, plus some custom made floor trusses for the 2nd floor loft. We started our project two years ago and are just about finished now. We documented the process and can now go back and see where we began and all the steps along the way.
Did I just wait a month for a new video? Yes. Did I just enjoy the last 16 minutes watching Dave build a place to sleep? Also yes. Welcome back, Dave! I love the new content!
We really missing your videos Dave they just seem so interesting and entertaining and you have the voice that is so hypnotic I bet the kids love having you read them bedtime stories
Dave I absolutely love watching your video's. How you put them together and narrate them, they just flow so smoothly. Whenever I see a new video posted I watch it right away!

Love Dave’s videos. There’s no challenge in throwing money at things. But being frugal & resourceful in way where you still have a great, functional setting is a thing of beauty. TY, Dave.
Hey Dave. You have no idea how much your content inspire me to take action... About 2 years ago we bought an abandoned land with a 300-year-old stone house to be restored. Ive actually been working a several videos ......I needed to just "finish one" LOL
I call the inner peace achieved by watching your videos 'the Whipple effect'.
My hectic life needs to be more radical. Thanks a bunch .
Love it Dave. One of these days I will get some land and build one of those cabins and put bunkbeds in it
Love the videos! I find them very entertaining and relaxing. You have inspired me to build my own cabin. Hope to see more videos on the cabin!
I really look forward to your videos. Since they aren't that often, they are a real treat!
Cabin is coming along nicely. I'd love to stay there sometime. Nice.
Great to see you back Dave! I have a small suggestion for your next video. Maybe bring back some stories by a campfire. Very nostalgic and interesting!
Great idea
Sweet...dave and brooke are living the dream. Cant wait to escape to the forest in my state....the birds the bees, the flowers and the trees. Black bears with cubs too..the night sky without light pollution 🌌
Nice to see a new video. Hope you and the family are having a great summer
I liked this so much, I put a bunk bed like this in my apartment downtown!
We miss you guys.
Looks great Dave. Glad to have a new video from you!
Finally!! Youre back!! Thanks again for another great video! Dave, you can make a 50 min vid of building a chair interesting! Anything rustic log built is my personal interest, but Im here for anything Radical, so dont beat around the Bush. Give me videos, eh?
Brother, you can do it all. You are the Red Green of the 21st century
You did a great job on the bunks, they look good in there !
Well done!
Easy as pie. Nothing beats simple.
