Great advice, I just signed up for upwork
Great advice! I will definitely try it out.
Just curious...do you recommend putting the part about being "new" and offering a deal for the proposal only, or also the profile?
That's Great advice so far!
You always give such great advice Steph and you helped me greatly in getting started on the platform. Just 7 months later, I'm already Top Rated! Another cool thing about bringing a client onto Upwork, is that neither of you have to pay any fees if they come into the platform specifically to work with you.
Can't wait to see more of your videos!
"always such great advice", she only has 2 videos?

Practical tips! 🙏🙌
Hello, Stephanie, nice tattoo:) Yes, I agree with you. There are so many videos out there which advise people to bid low rates etc. I think that this is the wrong strategy, and that you, as you say, shouldn't sell yourself cheap. Yet, you should know that there will always be someone else who would be ready to do the same job for a lower rate-people from the developing countries etc. I simply don't care about this because I don't depend on Upwork for a living. I just do my best to do a great work whenever I have the chance to. And I set my hourly rate as I please.
Setting a low bid rate is good. People will realize that you offer services cheap and use it
i didnt get any work.what i do
Hi Thanks for the information
Now I learn graphic design in order to start working on upwork. My question is Do I need to by I printer to get started -I'm from morocco - I want to start with digital work in the bigginer
Can I make it ????
go ahead you will make it
Hey! That's awesome! You definitely don't need to buy much to get started. I got started doing design work with just my laptop.
Please tell me which are the facebook groups??
WHAT? She is saying dont sell your self too chep and advising 20 or even 10$ an our??? Maybe if you live in Thailand. The minimum for independent working person is more like 40$/hour. I live in Germany and 70€/hour is common.
20$ an hour is not that much even for a company job. But as a freelancer you have to care for so much more things yourself like taxes, health care, customer care, accounting, ...
Yep! I totally advise starting at $10-20 hour. I completely understand that this isn't necessarily a living wage in some countries - but the idea is that it's a starting point. If you have years of experience under your belt and a great portfolio or work history to back that up, then you may have more luck starting with a higher rate. The idea with starting at $10-20 is that it's easier to land jobs at that rate and then fairly easy to quickly raise your rate after that. It probably took me about 6 months from when I started to when I was charging $50+.
Wow!! Your really pretty ;)
Thanks for the info, I only need to increase my hourly charge then!
Thank you for the great info. Great video keep it up
great video. I just started using upwork work today and I'm going to use your advices. could you please hire me? ha ha ha
I am following you, even though I do not understand what you are saying 😅😅
stephanie can i get a personal contact with you i need to ask toy a phew questions
Feel free to message me on social media, happy to help!
So, as a beginner...$50/hr. is too high?
earthangel depends how good u are. If you’re a pro then charge that’s fair...
Depends on your skillset and your experience. If you have years of experience and are very skilled in what you do, then $50/hour may be a fine rate to charge for you starting out. But because you don't have any experience on the platform itself, you will need some good portfolio work to back up that rate.
what freelancing work do you do?
Logo design, web design, and branding. :)
I'm determined to start freelancing, But I dont know how to start. May I get any help ?
