    Great stuff here. I've been looking all over for someone who actually goes into detail on how to get better at making proposals that bring consistency in getting clients. You've got my subscription.

      @@john.morris i had one question, what is the order in which the client sees the proposals, is it from latest to oldest or the other way round?

    • @john.morris

      From my memory... it's first submitted at the top and next after that, etc.

    I love the way you consistently remind us to shift from "golden bullet seeking" to "statistical likelihood stacking". It's combining upfront work to get the ball rolling versus hastily getting a spinning plate circus up.

    Hey John.
    Yeah, I've heard that the client sees the questions before the cover letter.
    The "hidden" trap you might fall into is if you answer a question, and you want to reiterate something you said in your cover letter. For example, when answering a question, you might say something like, "As mentioned in my cover letter....", and the client likely hasn't seen your cover yet.
    On a side note: I recently tried to instill this "fear" into the client that you talked about before regarding answering some of these questions. The client did respond, interestingly. They were asking to see some samples, although I already provided them in my cover letter, and again in a question that specifically asked for samples. The last communication was me inviting them to a quick 15-minute Skype call. We'll see what happens.
    - Ziro out.

    • @john.morris
      @john.morris  6 лет назад

      Well, for that tactic specifically.... getting the response is the primary goal. You've got them thinking. So, now it's just about the follow-through. Hopefully, it works out, but even if this client doesn't come through... using that fear tactic consistently will get you clients you probably wouldn't have got otherwise. So, glad to hear..

      I've been on Upwork for a while, so even if I don't get this job, it's all good. One thing I don't do with a new potential client is follow up when it's "their turn" to respond. I send out invite for them to take action (call, message, etc.), and that's it. I'm not gonna check in about why they haven't gotten back to me. If I never hear from them again, I never hear from them again. Either way, I'll keep you posted.

      @john.morris  5 лет назад +2

      Time to re-think and re-strategize. In that 6 months, have you changed your profile at all? Have you changed the way you submit proposals? If it's not working, you gotta try a different approach. Get a client account and look at other freelancers offering the same services as you. What do their profiles look like?

      Ok, first comment said 6 months. If it's 6 days, then you just need to keep at it. I still recommend getting a client account and doing that research, but this doesn't happen overnight. 6 days is not that long. Keep at it.

    @2:26...as soon as you, "jump right into this," you lost me. You don't SHOW how you get to this screen and the significance of this screen from a noobees's point of view. You are already assuming your viewer has some knowledge of upwork. You should explain this rather than making this assumption. Bye, bye. Time to move on to someone else who explains things better.
