No, I have returned the Pixel 6 Pro because the noise reduction is more aggressive than previous Google phones and due to many other camera issues. And no, it's not the first major sensor change. Google's multi frame noise reduction HDR+ exists since 2013. Already in 2013 Google combined up to 10 raw files in its HDR+ On mode. Google has used many different sensors since 2013, even sensors from different manufacturers. For example, the selfie camera of the Google Nexus 5x has an Omnivision sensor and also used Google's HDR+. People try to find excuses for Google's mistakes. Google doesn't improve the camera with updates apart from special modes like Night Sight. For example, the Nexus 5x HDR+ On mode takes much better daylight photos than the Pixel 3a. In perfect light conditions it's even better than the Pixel 6 because the Pixel 6 suffers from aggressive noise reduction in perfect light conditions. Actually, Google makes the camera worse with updates. They removed the white balance presets of the Pixel 3a, they removed the ultra wide angle astrophotography mode of the Pixel 5, they decreased the low light image quality of the Nexus 5x, etc. And the Pixel 6 doesn't have the HDR+ enhanced mode of the Pixel 3. HDR+ enhanced is nothing else than a faster/sharper and more reliable Night Sight mode.

Thank you for a decent review by professional photographers, and not by phone reviewers who do not know how to take photos or judge them correctly. I am a Professional photographer and have just bought the Pixel 6 Pro and can only compare it to my old Huawei which was brilliant. The images from this camera/phone are amazing. Not perfect by any means, but considering the sensor size and tiny lenses, very good results can be obtained. You did not mention the Pixel can take RAW files at the same time as JPG. After trying my best in Photoshop to process the RAW files and comparing them to Pixels own processing to JPG, I cannot better their work. This says a lot about their brilliant software. Normally I can always get better results from RAW files. I don't touch the 2X zoom because as you correctly state, it is not a true zoom. The 4X zoom is however brilliant and interestingly is also much better used as a portrait lens. You might want to check out the lock focus that is always on the screen in stills mode. We photographers always lock focus on the subject and re-frame the scene, but the Pixel has a small circle on the screen which you tap on the subject and it will lock on to that point and track it no matter how you frame the scene...brilliant! Have fun with your video testing. I have already tested mine and am very pleased with the results, in fact they are so good I will be using them in my Travel videos alongside my Professional gear.
Very helpful, this video. By far the best comparison, in terms of cameras, for the 2 smartphones (but it's no surprise here, because all the other comparisons I found were not made by real photographers). I'm looking fw to the video comparison. Thanks!

@@cooldante11 yeah I think if it’s a photography channel (plus they used a tripod) they can use 3rd party apps when that’s one of the big features of iOS vs android. Better creative apps
I have experience with an iPhone 13 Mini and with a Pixel 6 Pro. Apple's photographic styles are far less useful than Google's sliders. Apple's photographic styles consist of two sliders: an auto white balance slider and a "tone" slider. Google offers an auto white balance slider, too and it's much easier to use. Google also offers a shadows slider, which is far more useful than Apple's tone slider. Google's shadows slider lets you adjust whether you want an HDR look or not. In combination with the brightness slider, you can basically always avoid blown out highlights and still get a bright photo. Though there is an issue that the camera app often rather reduces the exposure time instead of the analog gain. The iPhone has the advantage that it can save a setting like -0.7 EV, whereas the Pixel resets this whenever you open the camera app or open a photo.
Great video guys! 🙂 I absolutely love my Pixel 6 Pro, fantastic camera, way above all others I've seen, even the new S22 Ultra overall going from videos I've seen, I'm well happy! 👍🏻🙂🇬🇧
A big Hello folk's from myself at the Giants Causeway here in Northern Ireland. I've been a great admirer of you two and the multiple reviews you have done over the past few year's and this review on the Pixel 6pro and iPhone 13 Pro max was brilliant as usual. Could I ask for your opinion on the Huawei p40 pro as a stills/night sight camera. I'm not concerned about the p40 pro not having googles operating system just what you think about its photo quality. I've just bought one for £200 and I'm very impressed but I'd like a professional opinion. Best wishes to you both and thank you for your time🍀❤️🍀👍😁
There are lots of Pixel 6 reviews and iPhone 13 reviews out there but it's great to get a review from people who really know what they are talking about when it comes to photography, so thank you very much.
How does the telephoto do on the pixel for shooting portraits? I know it doesn't have portrait mode on that lens, but I'd be curious to know how it looks anyways.
For Canon EOS R - Landscape photography on a tripod at 24mm. Does it make sense to buy RF 24-70 or RF 24-105 L F4? I know that RF 24-70 is sharper at the corners. Does it have better contrast and color rendition? Does it make sense to spend so much more money on RF 24-70 over RF 24-105 L F4 for landscape at 24mm at F8? Basically, my question is - how big is the difference at 24mm at F8? Will I be able to tell the difference on a processed landscape RAW file on 55 inch LG CX OLED? Thank you.
Google Pixel 6 Pro users, do you also have this experience of too much contrast, shadow and texture/oversharpening, without being able to adjust the camerasettings? It's like the 6 Pro ads a filter after taking the picture, which makes it look way different. Backgrounds and faces are oversharpened and red tones are gone. In portretmode there is a hard line between person and background and you can't adjust the blur to make this less visible. Many people and sites recommend it as the smartphone with 'the best camera', so do I oversee any settings? If not, do you recommend another (android) phone for (portret)photo and video?
Tony or Chelsea, I'm curious if the Google pixel 6/6pro supports the DJI go 4 app? There's been reports that the video feed is not being displayed on the phone when connected to a DJI drone. This is the only thing holding me back from getting this phone.
Great comparison. I know it's asking a lot but I'd also like to see some pictures on the newer phones with one of the third party apps that lets you take more control of the camera. I know I use Camera + 2 on my older iPhone 8 and I am sure something like it exists for Android as well.
Great review very detailed but seeing tho the Google has only been out 5 minutes do you think software updates will make it even better in them areas were it's weak? The iPhone is matured has had a lot of update s etc . 📸📸📸📸📸📸📸📸📸

Not sure why you guys weren’t able to take wide angle portraits on the iPhone. The option is certainly there and it’s been a capability for a while now.
The review was great ! I have seen lot of comparisons lately and the problem is that the comparison is not related to point and shoot between 2 camera , instead of highlighting add on features to make a phone look better than the other is not correct. Like astrophotography is something I would do with my actual camera rather than taking photos with my phone.
I like your video. But Tony, these comparisons just aren't relative for me, and I bet lots of other people too. I sooner switch all my lenes and cameras from my Nikon stable, to some other brand, than switch from iPhone to Android. There is so much else involved in a phone. Still it's fun to see the comparison, hoping of course, that my chosen device prevails! And seriously, who buys a >$1,000 phone and doesn't use a case?
Too funny you two. I actually returned my pixel 6 pro not for the camera but for other issues I just felt like hindered my day to day and went with the iPhone 13 pro but I might switch back once some software issues are resolved on the six pro.
Just upgraded from Pixel 2xl to Pixel 6 and am still loving the great photos. Took a fall hike today without my dslr and had no fear of missing a great shot when inspiration struck
Usually enjoy your video content, but some very inaccurate information here. Portrait mode is available for the wide and tele just not the ultra wide. The long exposure on the waterfall, really? Were you freezing to death? I regularly take pictures of waterfalls handheld and have never had anything close to that. I love the features of the pixel but it doesn’t need to have an inaccurate comparison.
Apple fan boys are not use to hearing from real photographers. Just tech RUclipsrs that don't know jack about cameras. I don't have any of these phones but I think it's fair. He even gave a point to iPhone for magsafe lol. I will choose the pixel portrait for the colors since I am not zooming to look at edges. New subscriber
I'd definitely like to see more RAW images. MKBHD showed some RAW pictures from the Pixel 6 Pro and I actually much preferred their output than what Google's doing. I've been a fan of the Pixel look for a number of years but something seems off this time around.
The main advantage of the iPhone camera is that the night mode is much faster. The night mode of the 6 Pro takes up to approximately 7.5 seconds and often leads to blurry photos. Night Sight shouldn't take longer than 2 seconds (like the HDR+ On mode of the Google Nexus 5x, which was one of the first smartphone "night modes") and shouldn't use a longer exposure time per frame than 1/5s (like the HDR+ enhanced mode of the Pixel 3a).
Adding a line to my plan my cellphone provider is offering me the pixel 6 pro for $400. $149 down the rest 24 month financing . Thank you for your video . Pedro from Florida USA
No surprise pixel 6 has an edge because of the best software in smartphones. I'm actually making camera comparison between standard pixel 6 and iPhone 13. I can't wait to see the results 🙂 Great video as always 😊
Try to find Huawei P40 pro + (not p 40 pro), and also if you planing to make a series out of comparing smartphone cameras, you should include RAW mode, to see which one have the best quality of the RAW. You could also try new Vivo x70 pro plus, and Samsung and Xiaomi flagships.
I had the much maligned Nexus 6P which was actually google's test-bed for the first generation pixel phones/camera/processing. That thing took better photos than 4 generations of Samsung phones that I've had since, including my Galaxy S21+. I should've waited for the Pixel 6.
It wasn't Google's test-bed, it was Google's flagship! HDR+ even exists since 2013. I have a Nexus 5x, which has the same camera and the camera with Google camera version 3.x was simply fantastic in its HDR+ On mode, which can be used all the time. I bought the Pixel 3a, but the camera is a huge disappointment in comparison with the Nexus. Only the low light image quality is better thanks to the HDR+ enhanced mode, which is better than Night Sight. Otherwise, the camera is worse, mostly due to the worse white balance. So, I have bought a Pixel 6 Pro and the auto white balance is much better than the Pixel 3a (but still worse than the Nexus sometimes), but it suffers from aggressive noise reduction (even in perfect light conditions), there are occasionally artifacts in the raw files, it often chooses 4x digital zoom, it doesn't have HDR+ enhanced and there are further camera issues, so I have returned the Pixel 6 Pro. It's the most interesting camera since the Nexus, but the Nexus doesn't suffer from aggressive noise reduction in perfect light conditions, so I still prefer the Nexus camera.
Most reviewers give the edge to the smartphone that can get more details in the background while you don't really care of it's burned or whatever cause the most important think is the subject. I think just like you, but when you talk about shadows information and say that pixel is natural.... Not really. I couldn't take the blue color of my daughter eyes because of the overdark shadows of pixel photos in most scenarios. Overall, I prefer pixel, but hope they fix that because, for me, the eyes of my daughter are the best of the world and to miss that is to miss everything! Btw, what do you think about new iphone 14vs pixel 7? If pixel maintains same price... Will have definitely the edge! Thank you for this review! Professionals are professionals!
I was surprised about the four minutes of shutter on the pixel. I thought the iPhone took great night shots. Works well for me anyways. I’ll have to try out the pixel next.
Btw, Moment's case adds Magsafe to the Pixel 6. I thought you might already know since you used a Moment tool, but I guess the Pixel 6 case IS way more recent tho. Heh. 😅

Great comparison. Well done. I was leaning towards the iPhone…never thought the Google would be so much better.
"Ugh, I really got to pluck some of those black hairs" Too Funny 🤣🤣
How do they compare for video? Would love to see a video on that.
Very helpful, this video. By far the best comparison, in terms of cameras, for the 2 smartphones (but it's no surprise here, because all the other comparisons I found were not made by real photographers). I'm looking fw to the video comparison. Thanks!
Great job Tony and Chelsea, fantastic comparison 👌🏻
Really ?
Thanks! Waiting for My Pixel 6 Pro. Should come any day now. Loved the camera pics!
Isn't one of the iphones new feature the ability to adjust how the image processing is done I'd love to see how well you guys think that works and weather you can get rid of some of the colour problems that you have with the images
Yeah they didn’t cover that which would allow you to change the contrast, saturation and color temperature. They also didn’t cover any 3rd party apps
@@chidorirasenganz I can understand not using third party apps as I'm not sure how many people would use them but a feature that apple had at there event I'd assume lots of people would use it. maybe a video showing what's possible with a third party app vs the stock one would be cool though
@@cooldante11 yeah I think if it’s a photography channel (plus they used a tripod) they can use 3rd party apps when that’s one of the big features of iOS vs android. Better creative apps
@@chidorirasenganz definitely never seen anyone use a tripod with there phone in the wild
I absolutely love my Pixel 6 Pro, fantastic camera, way above all others I've seen, even the new S22 Ultra overall going from videos I've seen, I'm well happy!
This is the best Review unbiased and realtime camera review.,,Great video definitely deserve a sub and like continue to make more great stuff guys.🔥
hey, you forgot to mention that "this clips is sponsored by Google Pixel".
Great video.Hope you guys try out the Vivo X70 pro plus.
Tony or Chelsea,
I'm curious if the Google pixel 6/6pro supports the DJI go 4 app?
After watching this video, I guess I wasted my money on iPhone 13pro max
🤣
@@kingeplanm.4742 🤣🤣
I learned photography from you guys your review is great nothing compares wen it comes to photography it gives a tone of details that others just have no idea...
And as for bias well it doesn't interfere with the facts in the video you shared the results in the same conditions....
I would like to see the test against the Samsung ultra I know they are different price brackets but I would like to see how they compare..
Ps just ordered pixel 6 Pro :) I love night photography and sadly I do not have a DSLR any more
Excellent video, thanks!!!
Not sure why you guys weren’t able to take wide angle portraits on the iPhone. The option is certainly there and it’s been a capability for a while now.
You can now buy magsafe cases for the pixel> As well for the pixel I have seen some use the telephoto lens to do macro
Fantastic video! Curious to see your analysis on Pixel 6 Pro vs the latest Sony Xperia with a 1 inch sensor :) Thank you in advance.
How many of the photos you used in your comparisons will you be willing to post in your instagram feed?
Great review guys. I'm after the phones to choose for long distance video recording - for surfing. Any suggestions welcomed. Thanks. Matt :)
Love you guys. The world is a better place thanks to you both.
I haven't been here in a while, but I'm reminded: You guys are so good at what you do!
The review was great ! I have seen lot of comparisons lately and the problem is that the comparison is not related to point and shoot between 2 camera , instead of highlighting add on features to make a phone look better than the other is not correct. Like astrophotography is something I would do with my actual camera rather than taking photos with my phone.
thank you for the inspirational and entertaining comparison.
I wonder how much money did they get from google to bash so hard on apple
Apple fan boys are not use to hearing from real photographers. Just tech RUclipsrs that don't know jack about cameras. I don't have any of these phones but I think it's fair. He even gave a point to iPhone for magsafe lol. I will choose the pixel portrait for the colors since I am not zooming to look at edges. New subscriber
"Pluck out a few black hairs" haha
Great video thanks guys. So, if I want to get into mobile photography, should I get the Google 6 pro or the Sony Xperia Pro-I?
You two Kids..... Thanks for this!!
Great review. I like to see Sony Xperia 1 iii compared with Pixel.
What about Cinematic Mode? (iPhone)
Hi guys. Are you still planning on doing a video on the R6 vs A7IV? 🧐
Could you compare the raw modes of both?
Computational raw is insane!
I'd definitely like to see more RAW images. MKBHD showed some RAW pictures from the Pixel 6 Pro and I actually much preferred their output than what Google's doing. I've been a fan of the Pixel look for a number of years but something seems off this time around.
Let me add a vote for a RAW comparison. File sizes specs, too.
I have returned the Pixel 6 Pro. The raw files occasionally suffer from artifacts. Seems to be worse than previous Google phones in my opinion.
@@Quoutub I'm surprised the raw files are so compressed and don't have all the information that the phone is collecting in them.
Nice and fun video. Enjoyed watching from beginning to end. 👍🏼(Pixel 6 Pro Owner)
In other words, I'll keep full framed camera with interchangeable lenses!
For the waterfall, you can shoot with live view and select the long exposure to burr the waterfall and keep the rest sharp.
I think that's exactly what he did. He probably moved the phone too much.
I have the huawei p 30 pro and i think to replace it with the google pixel 6 pro. Does the pixel have a abetter camera or is it not worth?
Even my OnePlus 8 pro takes better photos
Thanks for the compare. Please do more phone camera vs, always nice to hear from people with experience
I'd like to see the Sony Xperia 1 III compared against the Pixel 6 Pro.
The best comparison yet.
Adding a line to my plan my cellphone provider is offering me the pixel 6 pro for $400. $149 down the rest 24 month financing . Thank you for your video . Pedro from Florida USA
I believe you can take portraits with the telephoto lens , just by using it at close range .
80% honest review
Can you do a comparison between Vivo X70 Pro Plus and iPhone 13 Pro Max?
No surprise pixel 6 has an edge because of the best software in smartphones. I'm actually making camera comparison between standard pixel 6 and iPhone 13. I can't wait to see the results 🙂
Great video as always 😊
Try to find Huawei P40 pro + (not p 40 pro), and also if you planing to make a series out of comparing smartphone cameras, you should include RAW mode, to see which one have the best quality of the RAW. You could also try new Vivo x70 pro plus, and Samsung and Xiaomi flagships.
Pixal 🤮
Iphon 💩
I had the much maligned Nexus 6P which was actually google's test-bed for the first generation pixel phones/camera/processing. That thing took better photos than 4 generations of Samsung phones that I've had since, including my Galaxy S21+. I should've waited for the Pixel 6.
Loved the Nexus 6P
Just don't mention the optical fingerprint sensor faults 👀
Heh. 😅
Love you two! What about new Sony experia pro i vs pixel 6 pro vs S21 ultra? That would be amazing to see both stills and video! Thank you for all you do! Peace!
This is our life now ...
the google team has shown a remarkable way to make their pictures better over time with software changes...the pixel can only get better.
Please compare the Sony Xperia Pro-i Vs Pixel 6 Pro!
Detailed comparison about 2 phone photography. Thank you ❤️
Great video. Love the Honesty!.. Im gettimg a Pixel Now! Lol
"The pixel looks better and has better shadows, does not make me yellow, but if you zoom in and look at tiny pixels.. apple is slightly better. I give it to apple." WTH? Good review and I agree with Chelsea
Just watched on 27 Feb 2022 and it's a revelation for me and put me off the S22U as well
After the video I went and bought a 6 Pro and so far it is great 👍. Glad I saw your video.
Alright we just need to wait a year to get the pixel 6 pro as it is sold out everywhere. 😕
Already discounted in the UK on the non pro, down to £441 (£118 off) at Vodaphone and Curry’s retail are price matching. They’ll be plenty around soon enough.
