Woah, the dancer in the darker blue top is actress Debi Mazar. I haven’t seen this video since the 80’s and wouldn’t have known her then. Cool! **Just checked her bio and she is in 5 Madonna videos because they’re friends.
Twas her Marylin Monroe inspired image phase that pretty more obvious to one of her previous videos"Material girl'.The Abba-ish 'La isla Bonita' and the very good ballad 'Live to tell 'are my faves from this album with "open your heart' a runner up.
If I remember correctly, this video came later. MTV hosted a fan created video contest for this song first. I’m not sure if that one was still around for very long after the contest was over and it wa replaced with this one.
Spirit In the Sky was a Norman Greenbaum song. 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻 Don't know why that has stuck in my head 🤣🤣 Very sad 😁 Pretty much a one hit wonder Great reaction
Live to tell has to be seen live to truly feel it's power. There hasn't been a bad live version. 1987 - WTG tour She sings it in a spotlight while a huge picture of her face is projected on to the stage 1990 - BAT A church set on stage and she kneels at confessional while a huge crucifix hangs from the ceiling above her 2006 - CT For me the bed version hands down. A massive cross raises from the stage and she is hung on it. ❤❤
They were polar opposites. She was the flamboyant, sensationalistic singer who was putting herself out there as a sex symbol, and he was an almost introverted actor. She needed the media to keep her name in the public eye, and he couldn’t stand them. They wanted completely different lifestyles. Penn and Johnny Depp are similar in that way. They view the media as a necessary evil, if necessary at all.
True Blue was something Sean Penn would say during the time they dated and after they got married so she wrote the song using that saying and then dedicated her True Blue album to Sean the coolest guy in the universe. She sang a more acoustic version of True Blue during her Rebel Heart Tour and at one of the shows in New York Sean Penn was in the audience.

It's dedicated to Sean Penn. They were married at the time and she still considers him to be her one true love.
Loved Madonna during this 50's / 60's influenced period

This is made in the 50s style!

Correct, I remember the winner was a pretty professional looking black and white 50’s inspired video about young love, maybe it’s still on RUclips?
I think it’s more homage to the 50’s diners.
the saying true blue means unwavering in one's commitment
Yes it was an hommage of the sixties

👍
I would love to see ur reaction to Deeper and Deeper by Madonna. It's a great dance song from the 90's, a bit darker.
I'll get to it mate, I'm doing all her singles in order 😁
You've never heard of a "blue" movie?
...and I don't mean "Avatar." 😆
50's
Damn. U were young when this was out? How old r u? I thought u r in your mid 30s. 😅
