- Our Hiker Trailer of three years, finally gets an upgrade. Follow us as we take a tour of the factory and see how these amazing trailers are created. A big THANK YOU to, Tatianna, Daniele, Rob, Kyle, John "Wooly", Jordan and the entire Hiker Trailer team.
Have you considered a re-gear on your Jeep to 4.56:1 axle ratio since you tow so often and have bigger tires. Maybe even 5.13’s. It’ll change that Jeeps towing demeanor.
@turbojunki. Hi! yes have Thought about getting that done. Just haven't looked into I much. Now you have me thinking more about it. Think you're right that a re-gear will make a difference. Thanks will be looking into that..Gary

Nice additions/upgrades 👍. Danielle has been more than helpful via phonecons and emails since we picked up our Hiker a year ago this coming Sept. 1st. Kyle was our rep when we picked it up, and was very helpful also. Now, if only they would have the Ark 750 wheeled tongue jack available for purchase on their website I'd readily buy one.

Cliffy Falls is a really nice park, we’ve been there several times camping. Enjoy your new trailer and your new adventures to come! Seems like everyone is upgrading to the newer ones, we’ll be there soon :) stay safe y’all!

I dealt with both of these ladies by phone ordering my trailer. They were a pleasure. I'm glad you made the mods. On my build I did order the tankless plus additional 11 lb propane and heater plus added the front bars and a middle bar. Good move to relocate the tire, nice to be able to open the rear door. Gary watch your back if you have to take that tire down. I have about 10 weeks to delivery. You guys put out a enjoyable video every time. Thanks. I think one of your videos said you guys are out of JFK as a base. I grew up on Long Island, Bellmore (East of JFK) lived in NYC for 9 years and left for the west coast in 1980. Love the west its eye candy everywhere you go. When your back out this way again (Arizona) that's northern by Flagstaff give a shout and stop by for eats....Im a pretty darn good cook like yourself. Save travels. Keep smiling....it costs nothing but gives much!🖖

Looking forward to hot showers and traveling with our kayaks! The heater will be clutch in the White Mountains this Fall and that tire on the tongue will not be missed! LOL! We've called New York our second home for quite some time. I'm a New York girl for sure, but Cali is pretty amazing too. We will definitely give you a shout when in AZ next. @@skywaystohighways Yes Cali was amazing....lived there for 32 years....Im a ocean kid...surf, fish, ski the great outdoors....it changed drasticlly in the later 90's so it took a while to get the wife to cut the cord (born in Ca) AZ is nice but no mother ocean to bath me but its heaven in the West..... have fun camping with the new mods. You guys have to make it out to lake Powell.....its jaw dropping views everywhere you turn and kayaking is the bomb. Camping on the beach! Give a heads up and we'll bring our boats and show you some canyons. We are only 3.5 hours away! 😎
@scottgorman7166 Wish I had seen Cali back then. Probably would've left NYC for the beach and abundant sunshine, alone! Will definitely check out Lake Powell and let you know when we do! It's on the list!
@@scottgorman7166 AZ here as well (grew up in New England/CT and also lived in Kali for 5 years too).....looking at getting a travel trailer and Hiker is near the top of my list, but like the Aero Teardrops out of Oregon as well and might be better suited to my needs. I'm down in Tucson, but was curious if you've had any issues with wood expansion in the hot weather? Don't really have to worry about moisture too much (although I'm not sure why they don't just coat the entire exterior shell in waterproofing rather than just the bottom third as outlined in this wonderfully helpful video - in fact I'd probably request that if I order one) and not looking to do any crazy rock crawling with it, so the Midrange XL 5x10 should be far more than capable. I've traveled quite a bit throughout the southwest in the 8 years I've been out this way, but having a travel trailer would open up a lot more possibilities, especially if I can get a Starlink setup and be able to work while on the road lol.
@@drouleau Hi Dana...I havent seen any issues with the heat up here in Prescott. The only thing is the sun facing side the aluminum skin does tend to swell or look like its getting larger which it actually is. It expands faster and more than the plywood. It is not glued to the plywood so it can expand and contract. I have a 5x10 XL, it is built solid and there are a few things I didnt like as far as installation of some components. I am a cabinet maker/ contractor for 40+ years with alot of experience under my belt. Just a few dumb/lazy installs but nothing critical. Most people wouldnt even notice. I received the rig at the end of Oct 2023 and started to do my own mods....then winter so that was a crimper...now I just had major back surg and I can only do a fews hours here and there. All my parts are cut but I have to finish them and then install. What are you going to pull your rig with? The Hiker trailers like a Airstream (which I had in the past), you dont even know its there! I dont think you can go wrong with one. Just remember the more options you add to make life more comfortable the more this little sucker costs. But Hey....gotta be happy.

Some sort of adapter plate I think.
@Raj-od2ot. Gary here. Thanks! We had a great time making the video. The Ark Jack is great.They changed nothing. They have a mounting plate that will come with or you just drill out one of the pin holes. That's what we did. See you at ETC5.
