Hey, Keith! I recently discovered your channel and, I must say, you are an excellent steam engineer and I like your engines and trains! I didn't know you had a Stirling 8 foot single. You did a great job on these engines, and keep up the great work 😀👍🏼
Super cool! I'm still hoping to see you take a couple of them on the rails :-). I did find out there's a group in Houston that has steam locomotives, one of these days I'm going to get over there and try to watch one of their operation sessions
If you put effort into it I'm sure you'll find one closer. Only recently I found out that there's a permanent club setup under 3 miles from the home I've lived in for *twenty years!* They've been there since 5 years before I moved in here.
My live steamer has a steel boiler, if I blow done with low pressure, the boiler never dries out internally and therefore rusts. I was shocked when I saw Redwood Valley shut off the oil fire of the 15" gage 5" scale loco and immediately blow down. I try to blow down fairly hot and have been doing so for 10 years without incident.
Steel boilers have a different management regime than copper boilers, blowing down a small proportion of the boiler contents while in full steam removes scale and sediment build up in steel boilers.
Some of your home video clips have been deinterlaced wrong, the frame jumps backwards and forwards because the field setting is the opposite of what it should be which is usually top field first. This happens at 00:32 and 00:57, I just thought you might like to know if you wanted to transfer what I assume are tapes again to have them play correctly.
Must confess I've been enamored by steam locomotives since I was a very small child.👍🚂🚂🚂👍
Brilliant proper engineering i admire your skill and patience .

I love all the small valves and handles, that Actually work 👍😊
Thats because the engines are exactly identical to the real ones, just smaller. But they work the same way.

Absolutely stunning.
The Stirling Single is a real beauty

Yyyyyup
XLR8 OMNI TUNADO 480172960 obviously
Is it difficult servicing engines with inside cylinders or is there usually a easy way to remove the boiler built in for ease of access?
I agree, but it is not usually a practical proposition to remove the boiler for routine servicing . . .
Nicely done!
I'd really love to have that young lady's job.
very nice keith :)
i read the title as "stealing small locomotives" and i was like "what have they done to you?"
then i realized.
did the black five have a number?
I never got around to fitting the number decals . . .
What gauge are they?
5 inch gauge except for my 7 1/4 inch gauge "Tich"
How bad would a crown sheet failure be in one of these I wonder...
Crown sheet collapse is bad in any locomotive . . .
Who is the honey driving at the start???
One of my Daughters . . . .

Yes, I know a little bit about Video & audio.
nice garden railway sir
What if one of them ran me over?
if you were six inches tall, it would probably be fatal }:-)))
At 0:58 That engine, that looks like a LMS 5F best to be the most scary one. JUST LOOK AT IT GO!!!
It was a bit like riding a motorcycle - really good acceleration too . . .
What is a ball race? Just another word for ball bearing ?
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Race_(bearing)
It's like a ball bearing, but the balls are all competing to run around the fastest.
Why don’t you use these magnificent machines to go on rides?
Have you actually built small steam locomotives 🚂?
If sir thopan hat see this video
OLIVER?!
BACK TO SODOR NOW!
YOU HAVE A LOT OF WORKS
YOU TOO EMILY
