Honestly i wished hiya toys was that large in terms of ratio to godzilla but its fine since shimo changed size in like 4 times
This isn’t the first video I watched where someone bashes down on the Monsterarts Shimo figure. Hiya Toys rises while Sh Monsterarts falls with this one.
It’s not on purpose when something is done right there won’t be any problems, right now The community isn’t happy with this product.

I forgot was it TAS or MM that said, "now SHMA could finally use the final cgi file to make the most screen accurate figure with great articulation, but you guys wanna rush it, when you all complained about their figures that used early cgi or concept arts. This time they could make more screen accurate cuz now they have accessto the final model". Ofc I'm paraphrasing, but more or less like that. Welp, I guess it only applied to one release and not the rest. Iirc it was said prior to both Hiya and SHMA evolved, it's when SHMA announced 24 Goji and Kong
@@panduallen6712 TAS was part of a livestream yesterday and tried to explain why tamashii doesn’t use the final cg model. But nevertheless there’s more reasons as to why tamashii doesn’t use the cg model but can’t be talked about as it is confidential, so we may never truly know the answer to our “Why’s”

It looks like shma lacks having an ab crunch, while the hiya figure does at an affordable price point. I also like how Hiya Shimo’s body is sculpted compared to shma.
I also sensed that Monsterarts makes better classic Kaiju than Monsterverse Kaiju. Monsterarts seem to focus on concept art than final designs when it comes to the Monsterverse. Monster X was done well unlike the Monsterarts Ghidorah 2019 figure. But at this point, I’d rather have Hiya Toys make a Keizer Ghidorah figure than Monsterarts so I can save my money and have better quality.

This figure is heavily based on, if not exactly like, the concept design of Shimo by Jared Krichevsky; which does not have the crystals on its cheek. If you compare that specific concept art with this Shimo it’s pretty impressively one-to-one. Even with all that, it’s very stupid and inaccurate to her film appearance, especially since Hiya managed to get the film model.

@@NBYT. Not sure who said it, but I had a good look at the concept art before this figure was revealed.
Look at the concept art on Wiki zilla yourself, you’ll see that my claims about the cheek crystals are correct.

the thing I hate about this figure is the length of the head and the jaw plus the colour on the body is lacking if this figure gets a special colour version it wouldn't even redeem itself
Those are the main problems alongside the price, hopefully in the future we get something much better.
i hope that is just a prototype and the actual shimo is better because it just looks like a more articulated and detailed playmates shimo

What you see is what you get in most cases there isn’t any improvements.
Usually the release version looks worse than the prototype. :/
The problem is that on SHMA the prototype is always way, but way better than what we normally get.
Their prototypes tend to look amazing with the final product looking way, but way less impressive in terms of looks, not to mention the QC issues.
If their prototype already looks like this it means the public release will at the very least look as good (lol) as this one if not worse, this not taking into account the possible CQ issues.

There’s nothing wrong if it’s based on concept art they just have to be more straightforward, that would be considered false marketing.

Once a model is made for a specific figure, it’s hard for them to do any upgrades, they will continue to use the same model repeatedly only changing the paint job.
Look at Godzilla 2019 used over 8 times even when it had many issues.

There’s no problem if it’s based on early concept art the issue here is, if I’m not mistaken they said it’s based on the 3-D files going for accuracy, if I recall, wouldn’t that be false marketing if this is based on early concept art when you’re claiming it’s from the updated version?

It’s fine they said look everyone this figure is made taking inspiration from early concept art and a few updated models, also what’s hurting this figure is the price tag with no real value behind it all. I mean look at the paint 🎨 no effects, no extra heads or anything that makes this feel worth it.
I think it looks fine, matches the quality of the film.
It looks decent the issue is it’s not up to standards for that price point if that makes any sense to you? It’s false marketing when they said it’s 100% accurate when indeed it’s based on concept art and the paint job is terrible.

My problem is that you guys constantly complain about shma but still buy them anyway, which just encourages this level of quality it shows them they don't have to put the effored in because people are gonna buy it regardless. Honestly the only 3 things I dont like about this fig so far is the head the lack of shading and the GOD AWFUL PRICE (unless it very big figure)
Actually it’s big without standing it’s 7 inches tall same size as shin Godzilla, now standing up make her much bigger! still lot a good price tag when king Ghidorah was $130 years back.

I doubt a single figure will affect this company for them to go bankrupt. They would have to lose lots of departments within the company.
I hear Hiya asks for the cgi models so they can model off of them to make them as accurate as they can. The only exception being Skull Island Kong, but I can understand since ILM isn't as generous to share their models like Weta is
SH however has confirmed to do it from scratch, and with some concepts
I can excuse a toy company like Playmates who do have to go off of concept art and early models for their figures cause that's just how a toy company is
But SH and Hiya are suppose to be film accurate. Hiya can succeed cause they want it to. At least they can show they can

Anyways the biggest issue here is the price if it was aimed at $140, I don’t think people would be as harsh as they are right now. Personally yes it’s disappointing to see this happening but I also believe it’s not the worst figure ever.
@@RubiGamingx SH designers have said often they do the figures by scratch without modeling on something. They sometimes get designers from the films (Especially for Evolved Godzilla) to help with the figures
Did S.H. not see Hiya's version of Shimo or do they just expect people to buy theirs because of their name? Because they have not been delivering for a while now with a lot of their products imo.

bandai is just the japanese hasbro, Both have a lot of properties, which inflate their prices with the excuse that it is because of the "brand license", when they have had contracts with these franchises since "always", sell low quality products because they created this market that people take everything they do regardless of their price or quality.
At least Bandai has been more successful than Hasbro in becoming "a multimedia company" and has not reached the point of asking its buyers to fund its projects with crowdfunding when they are multi-million dollar and international companies.

That’s a great option I also went with hiya Shimo on this one, I also like the paint 🎨 and design.
Its just her paint application and her head and neck. her neck is to skinny and then her head is to long.
There’s a few inconsistencies happening with this model, apparently it’s based on early concept or at least taking somewhat inspiration.

I wouldn’t worry to much about those sets I’m sure next year we’ll see a full Kong 2024 ver, that’s when all those people will feel disappointed because they got all 4 sets for nothing, it’s nothing new here Monsterarts has done this before.
