The SH looks like more of a bootleg than it already did when compared to Hiya. I never wanted the original SH. I have the Special Color Vers, and i think that looks way better than their first one, but I'm stoked to get this. Hiya is blowing them out of the water with prices and quality.
Yeah, I'm conflicted if I want to maybe sell my special color version for this one. On one hand, the special color sh ghidorah is a very cool and striking gold color and I like how the wings don't have any gaps, but on the other the Hiya is more accurate, detailed, and while the wings have gaps you can articulate them.
I was disappointed by the original SHMA Ghidorah 2019 but from what I've seen from reviews, the special colour version looks alot better. The Hiya looks to be the best one though.

This is my first Hiya Toys product, and DANG what a way to start, eh? Also, it was awesome to hear Metroid Prime music in the end card.
Hiya toys really knocked it out of the park with this release because WOW i am speachless. The color and accuracy to the movie model is spot on and the ability to be put on knuckle walking mode is great too. The only complaint i have is the neck articulation is weak and that's something the Sh Monsterarts still has an advantage over hiya toys. But knowing how hiya listens to feedback then they will most likely release another version with a more refined neck system for Ghidorah. Great figure and for 120 bucks? Freaking A brother.
how are Hiya Toys so much better than BOTH Neca and SH Monsterarts?! It's got the poseability and quality of an SH Monsterarts figure but the sturdiness and affordable price of a Neca figure.

Was the movie Godzilla figure you showed during the size comparisons portion the NECA movie Godzilla figure? If not, any idea how he scales with this Ghidorah?
The figure used was a Hiya KOTM Goji, the Hiya Goji figures are an inch or two bigger than NECA Gojis so, NECA Goji might be a wee bit smaller than he needs to be. But the effect of his presence against this Ghidorah would be rather terrifying!
Still wish he had proper Elbow joints to tuck in his wings even further for walking but this dude is so great I can give that a pass. I can work around that when it comes to shelf shenanigans Also idk why but I feel his necks are a smidge too long and the tails a bit too short (heisei figure apparently has the opposite)
I used a hair dryer, but warm water seems to work for some as well. you wanna warm the materials up so you don't snap the joints and get left with a broken figure.
Bro got his one discount coupon and my boy Kevin kinda got that goofy expression if you look a little closer and those veins it look like lightning more then looks like normal veins but this guy is fully painted articulated modeled well and is freaking realistic he got some super drip and the comparison to hiya and sh I didn’t realize that sh ghidorah is freaking cheap looking and ugly this comparison literally change the way I see ghidorah and I wanted sh ghidorah for my birthday I am sooo glad I didn’t O and you came back with the smacking jamming sonic music boy sonic music never fails to just be perfection and at the end of the vid 💀💀💀 but at least Kevin knows how dance🗿👌🏽

Had two opportunities to get the SHMA one this year (local comic shop had a few of them both times I went), thank god I skipped on those and decided to pre order this beautiful fucker. I absolutely adore my Hiya KOTM Godzilla so I can't wait to see him next to this Ghidorah, especially considering this is my first articulated Ghidorah figure.
Watching this video made me even more sure that Hiya Rodan is a bit undersized. Comparison between the pose on 16:31 and the actual Rodan vs King Ghidorah scene on the film shows the size inaccuracy (or maybe Rodan on that scene was upsized, just like the case with Godzilla 2014 San Francisco scene).
They’ve absolutely got a lot of eyes on them! They’re doing more than I’m sure many were expecting them to. Absolutely in stitches to see their GXK lineup, and hopefully whatever else they’re up with the classic stuff!

As far as kaiju figures for 2023 goes, Hiya Ghidorah is king. Too bad about the paint chip though. At the very least they should stop using ties in figures like Tamashii Nations so it doesn't chip away in package.

Small bit of Ushabti Bone from Gw would solve the paint issues, for the bone at least. Wings could use a wash to match the body. Jesus christ tho, it smashes teh Monster Arts.
The best thing about this figure is that not only is the body, paint, quality are accurate but the articulation on the wings is what makes this figure way superior than the SHMA figure
I’ll say this, I like the bigger heads on sh monster arts, maybe If there’s ever another ghidorah released they make something between the size of the SH and the Hiya.

A figure I hope Hiya Toys makes is a Gravity Beam King Ghidorah with the same color scheme except this time they use yellow translucent plastic in the necks to show the charge up look Ghidorah is seen to have in movie and head with translucent yellow eyes like he had in the poster or movie and finally his gravity beam effect parts for each head and possibly some effect parts for the wings, that would be amazing and something sh monsterarts had never done.
I still remember how shma...had one ball joint connecting its wings, and its wings had no articulation. Is bro supposed to always be doing an alpha call?
You know what? I’ll give Hiya a pass. Paints kinda wonky BUT, this is marketed as a budget(-ish) line, and atleast it’s better then the monsterarts, which is over double the price of the Hiya. They did their best, and it’s GOOD. Great even. It’s NICE. Worth the $110!
They kept the Godzilla collector fandom as their target audience, and gave us what we wanted. A super posable, properly scaled, reasonably priced Ghidorah, and we got it. 9/10 just pre-ordered

Nothing is ever perfect indeed, but finally… a decently sized price tag without any of the silliness Bandai has chucked out on a semi regular basis.

@ShinRobjira couldn't agree more, with hiya I've gotten to the point I'm done with shm. With all the issues and the crazy prices hiya is a perfect replacement. They are great quality, they listen to customers and our thoughts on how things can be improved, and the prices are just right.

As far as kaiju figures for 2023 goes, Hiya Ghidorah is king. Too bad about the paint chip though. At the very least they should stop using ties in figures like Tamashii Nations so it doesn't chip away in package.

The best thing about this figure is that not only is the body, paint, quality are accurate but the articulation on the wings is what makes this figure way superior than the SHMA figure
I’ll say this, I like the bigger heads on sh monster arts, maybe If there’s ever another ghidorah released they make something between the size of the SH and the Hiya.
I mean in reality ghidorah always have small heads

A figure I hope Hiya Toys makes is a Gravity Beam King Ghidorah with the same color scheme except this time they use yellow translucent plastic in the necks to show the charge up look Ghidorah is seen to have in movie and head with translucent yellow eyes like he had in the poster or movie and finally his gravity beam effect parts for each head and possibly some effect parts for the wings, that would be amazing and something sh monsterarts had never done.

You know what? I’ll give Hiya a pass. Paints kinda wonky BUT, this is marketed as a budget(-ish) line, and atleast it’s better then the monsterarts, which is over double the price of the Hiya.
They did their best, and it’s GOOD. Great even. It’s NICE.

They kept the Godzilla collector fandom as their target audience, and gave us what we wanted. A super posable, properly scaled, reasonably priced Ghidorah, and we got it. 9/10 just pre-ordered
It’s got the heart, it’s got the paint, it might not have ALL the articulation of SHMA, but it’s got more than enough for that price, especially! So glad Hiya could come out the gate swinging and killed it like they did!

King Ghidorah does feel much softer than the SHMA figure. This is how NECA Ghidorah to be happening with soft PVC materials.
Yeah, it’s got that vibe! Probably better than what NECA would’ve given us, maybe a bit less bulky? But overall, it’s the figure we never got… but finally got all in the same box lol
