Bandai pulling a Takara with the Kong part shenanigans.
I know a lot had said that SHMA's size is more to-scale with Hiya cuz it's bigger, but just cuz Hiya's Goji is bigger than SH's that doesn't automatically translate into "the bigger ver. is the more to-scale to Hiya's". Take SHMA's Ghidorah, that dude is, kinda bigger than Hiya Toys's, but it's not really scale accurate, especially with the size of the head and neck. I know in the movie Shimo looks huge, but it is relative scaling. Movies got issues with consistent scaling due to sometimes they take artistic liberties, it's much more convenient, or it's too hard to keep everything consistent. So Hiya took an easier less troublesome route and just use official height. Shimo's official quadrupedal height is 114,3 m or 375 ft. Using Hiya's possible scale, 1:666,6 (based on the actual size to their figure size in the utmost default pose), Shimo's quadrupedal height would be 17,15 cm. Hiya's announcement shows that Shimo is 17 cm, which could be 17,15 but said 17 for simplicity sake. This and seeing the prototype on display next to their Goji, it is to-scale. I feel like it's just a matter of you just want them bigger, not cuz you want an accurate size. Which is fine, bro, go for it. David vs Goliath display is a classic when it comes to a vs display. Sometimes you just want the enemy to be waaay bigger than the heroes, there's no shame in that. But since Hiya is more consistent with scaling (aside from K:SI to the rest of MV), you should probably keep the sizing expectation to official stats accuracy when it comes to them. SHMA seems to be leaning more towards satisfying those who prefer David vs Goliath look, which is why their SK and Shimo is larger than what they were supposed to be. SK being 5 mm taller than Kong, and Shimo already being on eye level with Goji even in quadrupedal stance. I'm actually feel sorry for Jp fans, cuz they got priced out by SHMA Shimo, but having hard time getting Hiya as an alternative, due to the policy that doesn't allow Hiya selling figures in Jp. Us overseas, could just shrug and buy Hiya's instead. I personally won't buy SHMA's regardless, since I am a bit strict when it comes to the scaling and aesthetic I would want in my collection, but I can see the appeal to just say screw accuracy, me want big boi... or gal

Ngl Hiya both has that detail quality i personally love and is still friendly to my wallet for the kind of detail I'm looking for.
I took a look at the 2 figures for articulation and the SHMA has might have 1 more joint and the forearms, equal joints and the hindlegs, 1 less tail segments and much better head and shoulder joints but I'm worried that could cause the figure to look hollow in some poses the the GxK Goji. 2 things I've noticed with Hiya is that their figures are heavier which makes the dynamic posing easier and they release multiple color variations, so this is the first release the second and third ones would probably be chareged Shimo with a breath effect and a translucent with effect. On the point of price, SHMA is always expensive with qc issues, but Hiya, Neca, and Hammond Collection are affordable with similar qc issues. I understand the point you made, but if Bandai's model kit company can make near perfect action figures, why can't their action figure compamy make reliable products. Every Bandai Spirts, SHFA, and SHMA figure is a total guess as to quality even though they are at premium price

In the end of the day no one wanted shm to out of business but we want them to innovate and improve. We knew shm could do better but for some figure they choosen not, and if we as customer dont give them feedback/critics then that only encourage them to make more bad products

@@rakadean39 yes but I also heard something interesting. I suppose these figures are made to order, meaning they essentially can’t ever lose money. I get the mindset of not wanting to support it though.
I feel bad for sh monsterarts only because they designed thier off of images before the film came out. Hiya got the film version. That's why you can buy the sh one now and the hiya is pre-order only for months from now.

Ppl cannot use the “SH is stylized, it’s concept art” that doesn’t excuse it looking inaccurate to the depiction of the character that 95% of audiences know. And their Godzilla evolved is very obviously not based on concept art either, so what is it. It’s not stylized at all and looks 100% accurate to the movie imo. So that argument really falls flat

I seen in instagram a picture of shimo and evolved goji side by side, looks like shimo's head height is at goji's shoulder and her spikes reaching godzilla's head, dunno maybe just about angle or stuff(yep, im talking about Hiya goji and shimo) (and about this video, i agrees hiya shimo wins, its just great at every aspect, shma still has some good flaws tho)

i didn't really mind the beast glove coming with skar king. it seemed like a reaction to the disappointment of kong not having it initially. now it seems like a game that i'm not really interested in playing.

The thing is, hiya is only going to keep getting better and better. SHMA has had years to really nail down their paint applications and engineering and yet we haven’t seen much change. In fact, in some cases they’ve taken a couple steps back. We as a fandom, have experienced a number of horror stories where the paint isn’t all the way there, loose joints, popping joints etc. hiya hasn’t really had this issue apart from very minor paint issues. Keep in mind, hiya hasn’t been making Godzilla figures for that long. It’s kind of insulting for SHMA to continuously pump out figures that aren’t up to par when we dump tons of money for a single figure. It’s crazy. I was very cautious when hiya began on their Godzilla line because for the longest time I thought nothing would come close to SHMA. Now I can see the Godzilla community has really been taken advantage of with the introduction of competition.

I am sick of people glazing the hiya shimo because she actually look like she does in the film unlike the hiya concept art shimo and i will just dry brush the sh figure when i get it (and yes i am without a doubt getting shma over hiya)

I’m not sure how “trying their best” results in one of their worst looking figures. Also you don’t get bonus points for “trying” especially if you overprice your product way past its worth.
I think they did what they could with whatever behind the scenes restrictions and pressures (that we don't know about) I just hope they can figure out a way to get these awesome Monsterverse characters right. Some are good though.

Lmao hiyas was shown in person and it looks nothing like the image provided in the promotional images. You guys mistake throwing dirt on a figure to “super detailed”. SHMA is more accurate. The price however, is absolutely horrendous.
It’s not dirt that makes it super detailed, but differentiation of paint and colors, and depth of the sculpt as opposed to plain white. I’m just finishing up watching the film and I’m afraid shma is not more accurate.
@@CepiTheNomad shimu has had a pearly white look throughout the entire movie. Not once have I seen her with tht much dirt on her or with any brown tints. One thing I can give hiya is the mouth articulation looks more accurate, however, SHMA nailed everything else. From the hiya leaks SHMA is going to scale better as well.
@@dannyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy she’s pearly white in the movie but when making a figure you have to use techniques to make the sculpt and detail stand out. She mostly shimmers and reflects a bunch of different colors throughout the film so I’d rather see color differentiation than this rather plain looking application. One thing to remember as well, most of hiyas images feature this weird pinkish brownish color grade over all of them as I state in the video. There are a few images where she’s definitely more pearly white which is nice lol I totally see what you’re saying though, you like the more stark white color, I prefer the other. But yeah I think the shma one will scale better.
