Oh my God, those yabbie sandwiches just look absolutely delicious 😋. Great video, Robbie. And many thanks to your farmer friend for letting you share your video with us.
You're not wrong mate. Someone else in the comments here just suggested that I watch your videos. Haha 😂😂 I'm half way through your hour long video. I'm looking to see if there's any ducks in water over their wings. 😂😂
Looked yummy. Try the beer for water substitute when you cook sometime. Don't need any expensive or craft beers. Just any old generic brand will do. I think it's the malt and hops that do the flavoring and you'll find that in any beer. It is ok to use a water/beer mix to keep cost down but that's to your taste to determine. Thanks for sharing your outing.
Awesome Robbie :) Thanks so much for sharing as always Mate. My Mouth is watering watching Haha Bush Tucker at its finest Wishing you and all Family a Great week ahead Mate. Cheers Rob
Thanks so much Rob. I actually give you a shoutout in an upcoming video at Lake William Hovell. I was using your hook disgorger. It probably won't be up until after Easter now though. 👍👍
We did some buns a few weeks back but threw them on the barbi for a fast 1 minute cook in garlic butter after boiling. We put them onto toasted buns with lettuce and light drizzle of Perri mayo sauce. Man try that out it’s a good feed.
Yer mate those jet stoves are real good mate. You can get the smaller ones for boiling cups of coffee and things like that as well. Yer there a bit expensive but as with anything you usually get what you pay for. Keep up the good work Robbie 👍
Great video Robbie , love that personalised chopping board it looks great , and those camp stove you were using look really good but boy they are expensive at BCF being between $500 and $700 depending on the models but if I had the spare money I’d probably get one as it would go great in the Ute when I’m up the bush , fishing , hunting , camping or just on a Sunday drive as it looks like they take up very little room and would be useful.
Thanks mate. I LOVE that stove, but yes they are very expensive. From memory I think I paid $600 for mine at Anaconda in Albury. You can definitely get much cheaper, but this is so compact, robust and has the best flame control that I've ever seen on a BBQ.
G'day Robbie, l reckon you hit it out of the park with a new version of Dirty deeds and a nice pair of yabbie burgers, all that was missing were the chips and Pepsi Max.LOL 🐟
G'day mate ,those yabby rolls looked absolutely delicious. Great video keep up the good work. ps I used to do virtually the same thing on the creek side with craus down here in Gippsland
Love the Video as usual Mate. My taste is similar to yours with not wanting to alter the Yabby taste too much. In fact, most people put way too much salt in the water whilst cooking than I like. I’d rather put the salt on myself. The other thing is I wouldn’t have washed them. I like what others call mustard as it looks like mustard. I think it looks like what Babies do, but I won’t call it that. Looking forward to your Murray Cray season coming up. Regards Jeff
Haha thanks Jeff. I'm not a fan of the mustard, but I wish I was. It would save me a lot of time shelling and cleaning. LOL You are free to call it whatever you like mate. LOL 😂
I think Brian Johnsons' job is safe for now. Nothing huge like that other video, but tons! If you have them like in the thumbnail, they're definitely crunchier. I like to throw them on fresh bread, a bit of lettuce, with a little salt and pepper, then a bit of a blob of thousand island dressing.
Hello Robbie .... can you explain why you empty the yabby net of under-size ones when you are putting it back in the water? I have always thought that just by some being in the net they would attract others to come in too. Thanks Robbey
Ok Robbie ! Here I go again , getting meself into trouble - But if you made that yabbie burger without Holly , Your gunna have to get yourself a bigger pair of running Shoes 🤣🤣🤣 & whilst I got ya ! Can you solve a little quirie for me , are we allowed to throw Red fin back ? Or are they like carp ? Thanks !
Haha Holly would have loved to be there. Here in Victoria, and in NSW Yes you are allowed to throw redfin back. In both states it is illegal to be in possession of live redfin. This is to prevent redfin being spread into other waterways, but it most definitely is OK to release them where you caught them. It is illegal to release them in SA though.
Cheers Robbie i thought so lol you have re kindled my love for yabby hunting and i have gotten back into it the last six months cheers mate @@robbiefishing
So much one can do with those beautiful yabbies. They look better than our crawfish in the United States and they probably taste better too. I would douse them in garlic butter and sprinkle chef Paul Prudhomme blackened redfish magic on them, put them in a sandwich with fresh spinach and roasted tomatoes with a sprinkle of lemon juice. The bread I would use would be New Orleans po boy sandwich bread.
@@robbiefishing I’m from the southeastern USA and we are quite familiar with cooking shrimp and crawfish. Also i think the trout have switched over from warm to cool actions, i was trout fishing today in the stream that gies through beechworth with a few mates and i had a green honey coloured nymph on at first with the claws removed and i was getting follows from some good fish but none of them were hitting the lure so i switched over to a spinner and hooked a few but sadly they all got off, ( i was using a spinner that you used to use all the time a wardens rooster tail) but my mate managed to keep a brown trout of around 30 cm on the hook and landed it, it swam off strong as well.
Sounds awesome mate. I actually have a trout fishing video coming out tomorrow night where I mention that the trout fishing is changing with the seasons. You've done very well to realise that, well done buddy.
