      Thank you so so much for your amazing generosity Grumpy. You have just been robbed and here you are helping me and my family financially. WOW
      I'm so sorry about your terrible run on the road. My old man was a truck driver for almost 50 years. He was one of the first to drive for Fred Green when he started Greenfreight, working out of Myrtleford with just 3 or 4 trucks.
      He retired 6 months ago and now driver school buses instead. LOL He's almost 73 and just doesn't want to stop.
      I hope that the people that stole your phone get what they deserve. I hope Karma bites them on the ass mate, which I am sure it will.

    Hey robbie great video brother those are some big yabbies i would use rock salt instead of table salt and i would probably use a little bit of honey and chilli flakes or powder into the water while cooking them or i would cut them down the middle and i would wash them out and then i would soak them in a garlic butter for a few hours and then i would put them on bbq and while they are cooking i would pour my butter and garlic over the top of them while they cook

      Ŕobbie Try a trip to some of the dams in Qld sometime. The Redclaw are much bigger and when my wife and I went after them we would get 1000 in a week😅before we left to come
      home. They are feral in many places so numbers are irrelevant.

    Hi Robbie, THis is how I was taught to cook crustaceans with the exception of using the water they lived in to cook them. I do this at home but i only blanch them. This makes them easier to peel. Once they are peeled i use them in stir frys or whatever I'm cooking. When I'm hungry outdoors i will rake a bed of coals out of the fire and throw them on, this is my absolute favourite way to cook yabbies, I love that smokey seafood flavour.

    100% agree with you on snakes, completely misunderstood. We have an American Black Snake that lives in the crawl space under our house, and sometimes she likes to come up top to say hello. My wife always freaks out while I simply pick the happy gal up and take her back out(She's not aggressive at all, just a big scaly puppy dog) . I used to call her Mr. Slithers(a play on the Simpson's character Mr. Smithers) but then realized she's a she, so I need a new name for her. I'm leaning towards Medusa, from Greek legends, but not sure that's a good name. Maybe I'll name her Naga.

    • @robbiefishing
      @robbiefishing  4 месяца назад

      Hi mate, yabbies are a warm water species and Cray are a cold water species. Right now they're both a little bit active but the crays will slow down as the water warms up and the yabbies will become active.
      Crays are much bigger and have a lot more laws around them to protect them.

      The boiling water tends to put them to sleep pretty well.

    A trick my grandpa showed me for holding yabbs alive and fresh a lot longer - chuck em in a dam heshin bag with plenty of grass
    Theyll live indefinitely as long as the bags damp and wont fight

    • @robbiefishing
      @robbiefishing  Год назад

      Spot on mate. All they need to stay alive is to be kept damp. They don't need a lot of water.

    Always tail your yabbies before cooking, not only can you cook more but you get rid of the muddy taste. You can buy me a beer later.

    • @robbiefishing
      @robbiefishing  Год назад +1

      Haha thanks mate. I have a few videos where I do that. To be honest, I reckon they actually lose a bit of flavour doing that. I don't know why.
      We all have different tastes I guess.
      The biggest benefit of tailing them first is that I don't even up with a freezer full of shells because of I cook them at home I can tail them out the bush before I even come home..

    No no no. Best way to cook fresh yabbies is directly on the coals shell on. A couple of minutes on both front and back. Try it. You'll never boil another yabbie.
