- When I first decided that ‘yes I am a witch’ I knew nothing, well nothing of any real consequence at least. Although as a fourth generation witch I had been brought up with the craft, it was done much more subtlety than you would teach today. So I ‘knew’ very little before I decided on being a witch. This caused a few problems for me, and really it shouldn’t have, so I am giving you the benefit of my knowledge and this is my beginner witch tips for what I wished that I knew before starting on the path of witchcraft.

I am so glad I found your videos. I practiced when I was in my early 20’s but stopped because I started to doubt that path. I am now 37 and have been on a journey to rediscover myself. I have found myself being drawn back to my witch-self and am starting over again in those learnings. Thank you for being here. Thank you for explaining that witchcraft is really the movement of energy. Without getting too preachy, everything is made of energy, and everything is connected, and can therefore affect everything. We just have to relearn, or remember, how to. Love your channel and many blessings
Beautiful video! Fenales in my family have always seen ghosts, but everyone ignored it. So frustrating! I didn't. My daughter was raised a Witch. If she has a question, we find the answer. I hope everyone embraces their gifts and stops ignoring them, or calling them evil.

I always saw spirits growing up and had other things that would happen. But my family didn’t believe me or ignored me. After a long time those abilities just diminish if not fostered. I really wish I’d of had the chance to grow them rather than having lost them. 😢
I made a lot of mistakes when I was young. I got results but not the ones I wanted. Later in life, I learned to slow down. I do rituals selectively now but when I do them, I plan and prepare for them for weeks. I can say I always get some results. Sometimes very good results. What I do every day is offerings to nature spirits as I live on a large piece of land. They've protected me for years.
Oh Ginny, thank you for speaking the truth. Your Craft is mature and wise 🦉! So many internet witches are misleading the baby witches. This Crone knows that negative Magick does exist. I wish I had a mentor back then as well, but the craft was so underground in my day in New York City. Think... Disney's Sorcerer's Apprentice!
Off all the vids I have watched of yours to date ( none being in time order). This one felt the warmest and most personal. I do wish I had someone by my side to guide me, I find it difficult to protect myself and to focus. The Full moon on the 8th nov 22, left me fizzing with things just going bad. Some times you just need a hand to hold and someone to tell you it will be ok. 💜
I can’t tell you how happy I am I found your videos. I love hearing from generational witches who have learned from family, and who have been practicing for decades. Really shows experience. Can I ask how bad things were when spirits attacked and how you knew it was really a good spirit who they say they are, or how to know if a spirit is lying?

I started feeling energy from crystals about 2 years ago. Thought it was weird.....and then as my Aunt Linda was passing away my Mother said she saw her Aunt (my great Aunt) holding a crystal while praying for my Linda. I had no idea this was a gift from family. No one has ever talked about it. I also have Canadian aboriginal blood on that side of the family which everybody keep telling me is why I am more connected. Don't know if I believe that, but who knows. I think we all have the ability to do witch craft like Ginny says.

Do no harm? It is a personal choice though. I have a code that says I will not change anyone else in anyway without their explicit and informed consent.
I'm going through a tough time caring for my mum and I have said to my husband witchcraft is what's helping me cope on the darkest days.
Regarding spells...I sat my driving theory test a few days ago which was on my birthday and I cast a spell on a poison ring my husband had bought me as a birthday gift that it would hold all my knowledge and help me pass. Later that day at the test centre I felt confident I'd passed the multiple choice but was concerned about the hazard video part as I'd only had 2 hours sleep the night before. Half way through I noticed the poison ring was open...don't know how as my hand was on a PC mouse the whole time and you really need to pull the ring open. 15 mins later I walked out with my pass certificate. 🤔🧙♀️

This video is so encouraging. My grandma was gifted with some psychic senses and I had such strong bond with her but never got to talk about those things. I used to squash flowers to make make-up portions and read things. But I became so closed to magic after some events and it’s only recent that I intentionally started doing a little magic with confidence. So far small works I practice only feel extension of my ordinal lifestyle. I feel like I’m too old to start practice spells but I also feel like I always knew it. I love all the tips you generously share and they help me so much thank you!

I started my path back in the early 90's when I was in my 20's. All because of the 2nd sight being part of my family. I had the same issues u did with difference between it and the occult side. I was lucky and some good people came into my life at the exact time I needed them.
Thank you Ginny for that video. I will be 70 on Dec 1. Life and my own lack have prevented me from becoming a witch. I am so Intrigued and feel I need to make the jump. But other than RUclips and books I don't know where to start. Maybe it is too late for me. Please keep doing what you do ❤️.

What a wonderful video Ginny! Thank you for sharing your experience, it was very interesting to hear about your path and it gave me motivation to take my time with witchcraft and not to rush things. My story is that I stumbled upon wicca about 4 years ago and I did not find connection to it after about a year of researching it, so I stopped practicing at all. Then I found your channel and many other resources and it gave me a motivation to start again but only focus on witchcraft since I understood that it's this path that I am the most drawn to. I completely agree with your statement about that witchcraft gives hope in life. It has certainly saved my life many times too.
I am glad I found you. I am 64 and been too overwhelmed with books and instructions to start to practice. There are no witches in the family but i am drawn to the craft.

I grew up in a religious household. And when I had several encounters with spirits I was of course told to ignore it or go to church. But Catholicism never held any interest or reality for me. Especially as I played around with Tarot and got shockingly accurate readings. As I got older I think I realized my mother may have seen spirits and turned to the church as the only socially acceptable refuge in her day. In my young adult life I got too "busy" to think about the craft but recently my youngest daughter has shown interest and I have been enjoying getting back into it. I tried pendulum divining for the first time and already had positive divinations come true within the week.

Absolutely wonderful video. I felt the same way when I actually started practicing. I was so overwhelmed with so much information. A lot of it didnt match each other when I would research. I kind of stopped practicing for a short time due to that. But since then I have learned more like what you say is so true it's personal to each Witch. Blessed Be!

I agree with you, so much good stuff here, I love this video, and your point about spell components and the rigidity that people worry that they can't do something if they don't have what this or that book tells you. I love your story too, for me I'd add that teachers are also not 'gospel'. I was taught in an initiatory coven, which was good and bad, just like everything. Books don't have all the answers but neither do teachers or High Priests or High Priestesses. Good teachers will tell you they don't have all the answers, the ones to avoid will think they do know everything. That kind of egotism is dangerous, and was for me until I woke up and stopped accepting the abuse. No ones UPG or 'vision' is infallible, we are all influenced by our own egos and perceptions.Thank you so much for your sharing I am also sharing this with my students. Many blessings to you!

I have only just found you recently Ginny and am now working my way through all of your wonderful videos. You are giving me the confidence to start what I should have started when a child (I'm now a very young in mind sprightly 60 year old). I've dabbled here & there throughout my life but never really had the confidence to do it seriously. However, your videos are teaching me on a daily basis and what you said in this particular video about the craft saving your life - well, it resonates with me and now I have something to look forward to for me too; you are right it is comforting and if Iived until 100, I'd still be wanting to learn more. We live in a haunted old Georgian house and I've always felt spirits around me. Maybe this is part and parcel of being a Witch.

I'm curious how does your magic work if you don't work with deities? This sounds interesting to me because honestly I am a bit scared to work with spirits because like yourself, my journey began young and naive and I did receive backlash, still I am dealing with today but trying to rebuild my practice as a white witch but wondering who you work with when casting your spells.
Ginny makes a comment about working with deities, and how their not quite what they seem to be. To really know them before you start to work with them..
Well, I'm very interested in working with these deities I have been for a few years now..specifically the goddess, for now anyway. Does anyone have any good books to read to help educate me more on this topic? Or website articles, videos, really anything as long as it's coming from a trustworthy source.

When you start counting a year and a day, does that require everyday of practice?
No - just be practicing the craft for this time, not all the time by any needs
The example of energy about feeling energy by rubbing your hands confuses me, i am a witch but isn't that just working with warm air? I see energy as more of a spirit type thing if that makes sense
We have minor chakras in the palms of our hands. Rubbing your hands together, or massaging the center, activates the chakra and you can feel the energy build. It may manifest as heat, or tingling, or pressure. There is a vibratory difference between the chi/prana coming out of your hands and body heat. If you want to experience it find a practitioner of therapeutic touch, reiki, pranic healing or qi gong. Energy flows to where attention goes.
When working with deities don’t go back in your word or disrespect them

I wish I would have known that you don't need ANYTHING but you. You don't need that fancy storebought wand, those 852 different crystals, those 5,000 herbs, oils, and incenses. Whatever helps you focus, by alls means, have it, use it. However, the only component you actually need for any spell or ritual, is YOU and your intent.
More witches that have ZERO understanding of what witchcraft ACTUALLY is, or where/how/when it started. Silly
