Hi Mike ( I know, its Maic. LOL) What a great channel you have here. You have a combination of electronics and mechanical stuff going on here. I`m a regular factory test technician. I work at a circuit board assembly house. We make circuit boards for a lot of different customers. Electronics is my hobby also. At work I do simple tests on circuit boards coming off the assembly line. I have always wanted to buy one of those car diagnostic computers to mess around with.
Hi, how are you sir. I am such a great fan of you work . I have learnt alot from your RUclips video great stuff. I am work with a golf 7 gti ecu with the same ecu part number and software from an Audi. Is it possible to clone this ECU to work on the golf 7. I have the ktag but I have never done the golf 7 simos 18.1 before thank you for your help .
Hola Maic que buen video espero estés muy bien y que siga creciendo el canal te quería preguntar cómo hiciste para abrirla tengo una y estoy tratando de abrirla y casi imposible jajjaja gracias
Hey Maic, incredible job as always 👍. I have question on the topic 😎. It's nessesery to check for shorted sensors but what about, if one of the many 5v reference wires that comes from Ecm is direct shorted to ground? Will you recommend testing all these 5v reference wires for short to ground before installation of repaired module. Good luck and thanks.
Hi Maic, I know it is not easy to learn on this type of trouble shooting for car's computer. I see that you have a very good set up to do this, in your home. I starter watching your videos and I am thinking i can do this as I have an associate degree on electronic and I was a technician on reparing uninterructive power suply (UPS) to the component level. I would like to know what will be the minimum equipment, you need to have to start repairing this type of computer? How much, approximately, it will be to assemble the minimum equipment needed? etc.
What would cause a code p0630 I believe is the code on this model ecu? It has other codes also all basically saying vin not programmed or something of that nature. Ecu was not changed. Customer states car died at red light and towed directly to me. I can scan and get codes by manual vehicle selection and scan but vin read won't work. So I assume ecu has at least some communication just not reading security info. Is it on an eeprom I can access and possibly repair?
Hi Miac from sunny South Africa I’m still new to ecu programming after watching some of videos I’m impressed with your set up and the work you take on that’s great I have a question where do you get the diagrams from Thanks
honestly all you did was an obvious description of the part with fancy hook ups with fancy signal displays,,your talk is all technical about the build and contents of the ecm,,but to the knowledgeable person is thinking,,so what did you repair?????????????
Hi, This is a video for the customer and to show connections. I will not share the fix. You need a module repair I can do it. Not teaching how to do my job.
Maic, you remind me of a NASA scientist. Our industry is strong because of individuals like yourself (and we still need more Maics).
HUGE thumb up for you and for the content
Keep it up. Will start to watch all your videos...

Com una heat gun y abre fácil.
Not that I'll ever even think about getting into ECM repair, it's great learning about the brains of the machine.
Another question Maic
how do you open an ECM when they are seal? What is your process? do you have any video about that?

Curios @maic what a repair like this costs vs what a new computer costs

Also to the knowledgeable people, they already know what I repaired and replace.
