  • In this video, we will show you how to use the iPhone as a bed clock/calendar. StandBy is a new feature in iOS 17 that allows you to use your iPhone as a bedside clock, a photo frame, a display for viewing widgets or Live Activities in full screen, and more.
    How to Use StandBy
To use StandBy, simply connect your iPhone to a charger and lay it down on its side. The clock will automatically appear on the screen. You can swipe left or right to switch between different clock faces. You can also swipe up or down to view the date, time, and upcoming events in your calendar.
You can also use StandBy to view widgets and Live Activities. To do this, swipe left or right to go to the widgets or Live Activities screen. You can then scroll up or down to view the different widgets or Live Activities.
    How to Customize StandBy
You can customize the appearance of StandBy to match your preferences. To do this, go to Settings ➩ StandBy. Here, you can choose the clock face that you want to use, as well as the color of the text and the background. You can also choose whether you want to see the date, time, and upcoming events in your calendar.
In addition to customizing the appearance of StandBy, you can also choose whether you want to use Night Mode. Night Mode will dim the screen and switch to a red tint so that it is not intrusive while you are sleeping.
    Benefits of Using StandBy
There are many benefits to using StandBy as your bed clock/calendar. These benefits include:
It is a convenient way to check the time and date without having to pick up your phone.
It can be used as a photo frame to display your favorite photos.
It can be used to view widgets and Live Activities, such as news, weather, and sports scores.
It can be customized to match your preferences.
    How to Turn Off StandBy
To turn off StandBy, simply tap the screen or gently nudge the table your iPhone is on. You can also use Siri to turn off StandBy.

The phone has to be plugged in or on a wireless charger for the clock to show, just FYI.

But how do we get the alarm to display full screen again?? Now mine is in a teeny widget thing at the top & I can’t even read it. Every so often it will display full screen like it used to. I haven’t found any info on how to get it to display full screen again anywhere. Anyone know??

He forgot to mention how to change the type of clock! Or he dosn't know. Which is to hard press the clock when it's active and roll thru the option.
