Word up!Our city needs this...I also wish they would expand downtown westward as well...Iam from the westside and would love more towers in my hood....
Chicago would improve more if there was not so much inequality. The hoods has been forsaken with investment while the rich continues to get rich. If Chicago prioritized helping EVERYONE including people in the hood, I believe Chicago would surpass New York in both population and other things. But that can't happen if a large population of the city is forsaken. New York has more because New York helps and invest in all of its people including the hoods. I lived in New York and you go to the black neighborhoods there, there is more investment and improvements in their hoods than in ours. They could do better also but they are doing much better than Chicago on that level. When a city pours into its people, its people will pour back into the city
Why the heck don’t they build something taller than the Willis ( Sears Tower)? The last building at 1,422 feet is only 29 feet shorter than the Sears at 1,451 feet.
Skyscrapers are mostly pointless, the Sears Tower is enough for Chicago. Right now there are multiple skyscraper projects in the Middle East competing to be the “World’s Tallest” but they’re completely pointless other than being a bunch of dictators dick measuring contest.
For what? Have you been downtown lately? Do you not see all the vacant spaces all around, especially on state street. It’s sad. Why build more if we can’t even fill what already exists?
@@cesnav7593they gonna built a new bears stadium with stores in it and restaurants plus lots of green to walk around also the casino plus they build and the last 5 years couple new buildings and now if they decide to do this in the next 5 or 10 years Chicago just getting better our skyline with all this new buildings and idea will have Chicago number in the future
They know once Arlington Heights is built up in 10 years hosting the Bears and other concerts they will need to compete somehow... IMO.... Looks great though! Day-Men (Damen)
"Build it and they will come", all great ideas, and a lot of jobs (hopefully Union jobs). Minneapolis pedways between buildings would be great for tourism during the cold Chicago winter.
The surface parking will be replaced by a multilevel structure that will have one of the parks on the roof. As the narrator said, there's too much of it now anyway and only up to 50% is used during events at the arena. If they open a Pink Line L stop over Madison, it will be only two blocks away, and it will also encourage more people not to drive there. There's already a bus line that runs on Madison and has a stop at the front door, and new Green Line L stop five blocks away. So, all that parking is really not needed.
It's not going to affect the whole Westside of Chicago. Just that area, so don't believe the hype on that one. Secondly if it involves moving out people of their homes for this development I'm 100 against it!! Build on the already established parking lots only and don't force out the residents. And I say this because it already happened once when the United Center was built and they tore down the old Chicago Stadium
Where is all the parking going and how will the traffic move....increased demands of mixed uses draws more traffic how is gonna be managed... Chicago likes freeways, will that be buried under it all?... Time will tell .. that stadium will also need work to be relevant next twenty five or more years
... Wide open plazas for primary access via walking long distances... Security?, winter issues?!... Access to parking... Underground access to everything...
That is the entire point of it being 100% privately funded. It is called gentrification. It means 0% of the entire development will be affordable housing. 😂
U will never get rid of crime it’s impossible crime is everywhere n the country we will never be able to stop stupid ppl from doing stupid shit n that area is actually pretty chill n Chicago is not even on the top 10 most dangerous cities n America list
@@danielloza1807 I know people are so paranoid they act like other cities don't have a Hood 😂 The funny thing is that even with all the gang violence and crime of the Hood, Chicago is still not even ranked in the top 40 in violent crime. Ironically, the truly most crime-ridden cities in America are never on the damn national media.
They need to open a Pink Line Ⓜ️ on Madison
Ashland isn't too far though
@ yea but the Ⓜ️ on Madison is better cause it’ll be a shorter walk to the 🏟️
It’s being built for people who have money. Not the everyday working citizens!
Awesome, love that my hometown is improving. Slowly but surely is fine with me.

The House Jordan Build. Good Ideal
Man, I wish the old Chicago Stadium could get a feature like this. That place was so barebones that it became iconic.
GOOD
if you're gonna have a robot read the script, at least pronounce the streets right.
Where will they build the UC’s replacement in 40 years when it ages out?

It’s being built by lakeshore

Build it! CHICAGO BABY! ❤
My beautiful hometown Chicago GO BULLS BEARS CUBS AND SOX I was born and raised on Westside Chicago
They know once Arlington Heights is built up in 10 years hosting the Bears and other concerts they will need to compete somehow... IMO.... Looks great though! Day-Men (Damen)
As a Chicago native I say it should stay as it is.
I don't like these people's visions
Why? Simply saying you don't like it is boring and tells us nothing. What makes you think that?
Me expecting to see a new stadium render 😂

Please be all the Tribune Tower
If they wanted to do away with ice skating it’s better to have roller rink for both quad and roller blades.
I'm getting a union job at rooftop park
From up north but really became a man on the Westside
So...kill a ton of parking?

Soooo you didn’t watch the video, which specifically mentions parking, and you decided to make a stupid comment. Got it
Last thing this city needs is more parking lots.
Good luck
So gentrification? Got it
Who’s mad that the ghetto west side is being cleaned up???
Gentrification of parking lots? Seriously?
Who cares about economic output eh?
You want to perpetuate poverty and urban decay?
When we say "housing" we mean *"PENT HOUSEING"* 😂

7 billion and not a new stadium. Jerry sucks
No need for a new stadium
New stadium won’t be built until 2040
The taxpayers own the stadium...
They didn’t have a real person to narrate this video? Ai? The laziness…
Those parking lots are surrounded by some of the worst despair and hopeless you can find in any city in the world. Come invest🤗
The reason is because the West Side is probably the worst neighborhood in the city. Investors don't want to take the risk
great video, but the robot narrator gotta go.

Can't even say the street names right
They better get rid of da crime first!!!

terrible modern architecture. yuck.
For real. So lifeless
Yet Reinsdorf is asking for public money for new Sox stadium
Interesting Reinsdorf will pay for all this but not a new soz stadium
Of all the great architectural buildings in Chicago. The United Center looks like crap
I swear it does lol Looks like a damn medical center 😂
I Love All Of The Projects Especially Tribune Tower East Wow wish It Was 1,800 ft Welcome Back Chicago The Skyscraper Capitol ❤🌆🏗
