    Thanks for sharing your view Minka, it pretty much sums up my feelings about it. Unfortunately, if you have social anxiety it will be with you for life. I am 30 now, and despite tackling it head on throughout my 20s, it still feels like a constant battle. Connecting with people, whether it be dating women, or trying to form new friendships, is still very challenging for me - I get that sick feeling in my stomach you describe, sweats, and sometimes have to clench my fists to stop my hands shaking. Most people can't even tell how uncomfortable I am, because I have learnt to hide it so well.

      I totally understand you. I start sweating, shaking, etc and most people can't even tell. I've had terrible social anxiety my whole life and it hasn't gotten better. Maybe it's just who we are.

    Hi, I have also been in situations where I feel like the 3rd wheel it's uncomfortable, like you I avoid them when I can. I prefer 1 on 1 as well. As for friends the way I look on it is only true friends matter & it's not worth going out with people who make you feel uncomfortable. Have a good week, Minka

      I totally agree Mark. It depends on the people you are choosing to spend time with. If they are close friends then they shouldn't care how you talk. You have a good week as well.

    Hi minka, I enjoy listening to you. I see a lot of me in you. Sometimes we don't realize how much anxiety we have. My stuttering was lot worse when I was younger but I can't get rid of it and probably never will. I still get very upset when I'm bad. I always tell myself to go slow or calm down but for me it is not easy. Keep up the great work.

      I feel you. I didn't even know what anxiety was until a few years ago. I never realized how much anxiety I had. Telling myself to calm down sometimes helps me, but like you said, it's not easy!

    I'm also very introverted, but sometimes I wonder if that's only because of my stutter... I love people, but whenever I'm with others I just can't wait until I can be alone. I've thought about it a lot, and I'm really not sure how much of my introvertetness is caused by the stuttering...

      I think that we're introverts even if we didn't stutter...in my case at least. However I believe that stuttering makes us A LOT more introverted.

    Do you think your introversion/shyness is rooted in your stuttering? That's what I wonder myself. Am I really shy, or is it only because I have a stutter.

    Does your stutter make your social anxiety more severe.

    • @MinkaLovesPineapples
      @MinkaLovesPineapples  7 лет назад +3

      Yes for sure. I think I still would be very shy even if I didn't stutter but my stuttering makes it much worse.

      Yeah I used to always feel awkward in one to one conversations with people and in groups, I would always listen in to what the other guys were saying but never really spoken, I wanted to speak and socialise but I felt like I couldn't do that because of my stammer.

      Same with me. I want to talk to other people if I am in a group but I find it very difficult because every time I do, I stutter badly and who ever I'm with just stares at me awkwardly.

      I have checked it out. My goal is not to stop my stutter but learn how to deal with it in a positive way. It makes me much happier. Thank you though!

      Minka Frederika why would u not want to stop ur stutter ..its the root of whats causing all the bad feelings etc.. in the first place . learning how to deal with it in a positive way is a hard goal cuz of how often we have to speak in life . Im jus tryn to help out ,the thing i bought was only 2 bills nd it was called the pro90d passive learning system ..nd no im not one of those scammers .

      mike -ohhh I understand. My stuttering is a combination of psychological and neurological and I really don't want to spend the money right now. I was a shy person even before I started stuttering and I still had social anxiety. Maybe in the future I'll try it.

    • @hoodiemike210
      @hoodiemike210 7 лет назад

      Minka Frederika yeah its all in your head ..its cuz u dnt have your confidence to say those certain words up . i was shy to for some reason before i started stuttering blocks . i would always have to switch up words in the middle of a conversation to words tht i can say nd it was fustrating living like that . i was also the type that kept it a secret nd avoided ppl jus so they wont kno that i stuttered ..friends family . nd it sucked . i would be fluent for a cpl of weeks nd Bam ..ill get tht block nd ill be stuttering again . it was a constant cycle .

      Even sometimes when I'm not stressed I still stutter, like when I am tired I stutter a lot. I'm just an overall shy person. But there are people to who stutter and are very outgoing!
