This goes to show how good the special effects were on drumline. Dude don't play a lick of drums but the movie made you believe he played in certain scenes. Wow 😬

My high school drum coordinator was on Morris brown cymbal line and he said they were terrible lol
that movie was filmed almost 20 years and he probably ain’t practiced since then. Plus it’s a movie, Superman ain’t real neither but we can imagine some white dude in underwear flying around like it’s normal

Hbcu bands are more about the football games and show man ship of dancing, drum core bands are more about the competitions and who can play the more difficult peace cleanly. Basically Hbcu is more fun for an average joe to watch but drum core is way more impressive if you watch the right band. By the way non hbcu college bands don’t count because there kinda just a combination of both
Alum of the Marching Maroon and White aka Alabama A&M University. One of the real bullies of the SWAC. O4 was a good year but i love all my HBCUs.

He didn't learn anything for drumline. Literally every part where he "played" it was edited in. Don't get me wrong Nick Cannon is cool, but no talent in marching snare at all. In the movie you can even see him not hit certain notes because he isn't playing it lmao.

He learned the drums for the movie but only for a month. He did the basic drumming in some of the scenes but had a body double for the real ish. 1 month of training and a 20 year gap but people are surprised his hands are falling over each other. Lol
If you watch the special features for the movie it's straight up tells you Nick Cannon doesn't play at all, every scene where Nick Cannon is supposedly playing the snare it doesn't show his face when it shows the drum and when it shows his face it doesn't show the drum

@@lmaoitsmee1812 actually he did drum in the movie but the close-ups were his body double Jason Price which also performed in the movie , since Jason has more experience in drumming and he looks like nick he was chosen to be the double for some shots in drumline.

Actually he can , he was taught for several months rapidly before the movie was done. When you see him play in the movie he actually is really playing the drums , it's been years since he has played that's why he wasn't good playing here.

@@mikewallace4880 i know it was Jason Price , Jason also played in the movie right along side Nick and for many of the close-up shots of Nick playing it was actually Jason playing but Nick did play cause the other players in the movie were real college bands that got to be in the movie and they have said that they were impressed with how Nick was able to learn how to play in such short time because he hasn't played an instrument in his past.
