Another good review mate, £300 is pretty expensive for a 'net' but at least it looks like a proper golf product. Add in circa £300 for a 2nd hand R10 and a few quid for a mat and you are not a kick in the arse off £650 for a practice setup.
Thanks Golf addict. I agree it’s a significant outlay, but it is still cheaper than what seems to be the most popular option for using with the R10 (the spornia) I just wouldn’t trust one of the square nets for garden use
This is a very helpful review. Just got an R10 to use at the driving range, but thinking about a net for practice in the garden. Just a thought - you are set up with the ball far over to the right hand side of the net. If you set up with the ball in the centre of the net would that give you more protection against shanks?
Thanks James. It would certainly help reduces the chances (it's what I was doing with the Spornia SPG 7 net I reviewed). However, there is still a chance a shank can miss the miss, so you have to be comfortable with that. Annoyingly the net isn't quite big enough to completely stand in.....I genuinely want to design a portable stand in net.
Really like the idea of a portable / pop-up stand-in net. The reality of most gardens in the UK is that something that misses the net just isn’t a possibility! And we all have the very occasional shank or skyed driver… if you’re standing in the net you can have complete confidence that the net is catching your ball…
I looked at buying this when it came out. I atill think its too clunky and not fast enough setup dismantle for quick sessions. I got the 7ft spornia, up n seconds and down as quickly. Good honest review though. I believe the perfect golf net is still to be designed.
Great looking net. Would love to have something like this for indoor use. Unfortunately my ceilings are too low to take a full swing anywhere so I’ll have to invest in a bigger house before the net comes into play!
Great video! Just wondering if the frame is 8ft wide from the widest part of the pole on either side or is the actual impact net 8ft wide? I'm thinking of getting it for my garage which is 8ft wide but with the way the poles bend outwards, I'm worried it won't fit (and can't find exact dimensions online). Cheers
I'm think to buy this cage and r10 but i'm afraid the required depth will be to much. What is the minimum distance between the cage and the ball to play drivers?
To be honest, I’ve tried using the unit with a driver with multiple nets with the required distance and it’s never reliably picked up the driver. Been fine with irons though
I trust that the ball won’t penetrate the net…but because it’s a net you hit towards rather than a cage you stand in, I don’t trust myself to hit the net with every single shot
Hi, Any issues with the R10 giving accurate (ish) readings hitting into the net ? I’ve read somethings about it not working. Just bought this net and looking to buy the r10 next.
The R10 has been working great for me with this net, very few misreads (or at least the numbers seem broadly right to me). I’ve been very happy with the combination 👍
this in 10ftx10ft would be perfection for garden use. Still petrifies me not being able to be within the net or at least inline, JUST incase of that dreaded awful shank or ultra high lob
I’ve been happy with it, but I am planning on comparing it to the 8ft spornia. I have ripped one part of the net on the frame since recording the video…one tiny square isn’t the end of the world, I was rushing and it got caught
Amazing video I loved the timelaps!!! Any recommandtion on drivers? ive been looking for a good one for awhile
Thanks 🙏 I game the ping g425 max and I’m a big fan 👍

Exactly! Watch this space…
Great video and awesome net! cant justify the price, I was hoping this one would stop me from building one
Thanks Chris 👍 I don’t think you’ll find a better one cheaper

Very fair comparison of the two. I just posted my review of the Spornia 7ft yesterday.
Great video. Love this product. Too bad I have a dumb dog that leaves land mines in the lawn.
Thanks Perry 🙏 Haha, my cat tend to leave presents in one specific place 🤣

Good to have a goal 🤣👍

Thanks 🙏 next time I set it up I’ll measure and confirm from the widest and tallest parts
I just bought the spornia spg7 so should have a comparison video coming soon too
Great review, what is the astro mat you use if you don't mind me asking ?
Sorry I don’t know, I picked it up for free from my local range who were throwing away their old ones

Do you trust Forb Net to be safe for practicing driver shots?

Nice one Kevin. If you are worried about your lob wedge going over the net just move the mat closer to the net
Yes that’s fine to do with the lob wedge, but not possible with the longer clubs as they could hit the pole on the follow through 👍

how are you finding it still? I mean I know it's winter and all but overall are you happy with it?
You’re not wrong, I’m still not keen on using a driver with it.
I might try to build my own collapsible cage as a video.. maybe I could sell it
I’ve been happy with it, but I am planning on comparing it to the 8ft spornia.

6-hour Round! Can't believe you are still married.
🤣🤣
Mine's broken in 5 places in the first 50 shots with a 7 iron. Good times.
🤦♂️🤦♂️ bad times. How has the net got so torn up?? Mine is still going strong 🤷
Spornio golf net
My full review of that net coming next week 👍
Anything like that that doesn't cost an arm and a leg lol.
That would be ideal, but sadly, I don’t think exists
@GolfGuyReviews one will still dream of a day :)
Put a cardboard box in front of you to help catch any shanks.
