Plymouth Rock! That’s right, as in Pilgrims and settlers and the Mayflower and Squanto and 1620 and yes, the first Thanksgiving! The great American founding myth forged over our first few centuries as a nation, largely distorted as needed by a nation seeking a new sense of itself and looking to the puritans after the civil war, but the TRUTH it turns out, is even more interesting!
