I live in the UK in a small town Called Bawtry. in South Yorkshire. William Bradford Who was born in Austerfield is a mile from where I live. William Brewster came from Scrooby 2 1/2 miles over the border into Nottinghamshire.

It so cool to see people, acting the parts of our for fathers. It looks so big place. The second Mayflower was in a town beginning worked on in my State. They did a beautiful work on her. Would of loved to see her . Mystic Seaport does beautiful work to bring back alot of old boats. A Whaler Boat is there. Just remember as you throw the boat . They weren't as tall as us today. Very low

More women and children died due to the close quarters below deck due to disease spreading quickly while on the ship waiting for the men to build shelters/houses a and clear some land. That's why more men survived the first year because they were out in the fresh air.

Bradford? Family! My wife traces to him. I probably do. I'm Alden, Mullins, Standish and others. John Alden is credited with being the first of the Mayflower to step into the Plymouth rock.

Incredible and brave people going in to the unknown - so sad for those who did not survive the trip and the first harsh year. 66 days of travel on rough seas that you can now travel by jet in a day. They advanced civilisation and created the most powerful country in the world based on being free. I am proud that they were British mostly from Yorkshire I think - who are an exceptional people and it is an exceptional county. RIP pilgrims

While there is a sense in which we in the United States have a system of government that is based on the DESIRE to be free, the society created by the Mayflower Pilgrims at what is now Plymouth, Mass. was very different from what we enjoy today. It is true that the Pilgrims wanted to be free to "worship as they pleased" (meaning that they wished to be free from many of the sacraments and ceremonies that were required in much of Europe in the seventeenth century) but the Pilgrims don't seem to have had the slightest concept of extending that same freedom to others. ANY variation from their extensive rules of conduct was punished by incarceration, being placed in stocks or a pillory, or public whippings. Roger Williams wasn't banished until 1635 and Anne Hutchinson wasn't banished until 1638 (and, technically, that was from the Massachusetts Bay Colony, not from Plymouth) but the Mayflower Pilgrims were very much of that same ilk - freedom for us but not for anyone who disagrees with us.

Good filming but the questions and comments lack accuracy and are superficial. The "actors" lack serious training.

You're lucky you obviously didn't lose anyone close to you who passed from covid. At that time it was easily picked up so people needed to be protected. Please don't forget how many native Indians and pilgrims died from various diseases and viruses transmitted from people in the first year alone which makes mask wearing there even more poignant imo.
