What do yall think of Concord and should I make a follow up DAY ONE of launch?
Being a non-playing gamer fan… this looks a lot like a couple other cartoon shooters. Not a bad thing, just noticing a trend.

You are right, not the pronouns, the Gamers saw horrendous 3d models, understood it was made for the "modern audience", an audience that doesn't contains any Gamer, and they just scrapped even the idea of playing it: I'm not the target, I won't play it. Simple as that, and with the "promotional" material you can instantly find out that it's not made for old school Gamers, just for appealing people that don't play and won't play. And "We the Gamers" are fed up with BS that appeals to non gamers. That's why this product won't have an easy end.
Each copy includes puberty blockers sent right to your house.
Only people playing this are youtubers telling us how bad it is.

I played the beta on steam. By god was it shit. THE FINALS is so much better and free.
Just watching people play the game, made me not interested. Knowing they plan to release it for $40... Yeah, I don't know who was in charge of that decision. They're 5 years late on that train.

Color me surprised Playstation manages to kill a game after they tried to kill Helldivers 2. E.A. was supposed to be the killer of studios, and yet somehow playstation goes "hold my beer".
Publishers seem to be more and more disconnected from reality.
After Starfield's laughable launch, nothing surprises me anymore.

@@RedBeardMortis Played it for 20 hours, uninstalled it after a horrendously boring questchain culminated in an equally depressing, unfinished non-ending, never touched it again. I have close a thousand hours in other Bethesda titles. Starfield is just sad, to me. It feels like the devs misunderstood, fundamentally, why we play these games, and that's unforgivable.
Needing a PSN login was also apparently a dealbreaker for at least some PC gamers. Sony is (maybe just in the short term) going to kill a bunch of their PC releases with this requirement. Some people also couldn't get the game working on PC, don't know how many people had that problem but when you put all that together with the fact that most people didn't seem that impressed this game is doomed.
Why does every character need to be so fucking quirky. It's like their veins are expanding ready to explode if they don't tell you how quirky they are

@@edsonsouzaneto6251 I disagree considering that it's one of the MAJOR talking points surrounding this game. The game in-and-of itself is gonna fail because of Sony. Pronouns or not. But it's still a point people are bringing up as a failing factor for Concord.
No, it legitimately is a red flag. It means the game is made for the modern audience. There's no such thing as a modern audience..

I have no problems with games having a price tag. Helldivers 2 is doing wonders with like a 40$ price tag,but that game is rather unique in genre that was abbandon to itself (the only one similar is Deep Rock Galactic,and thats it. The others who get closer are the classic Left 4 Dead)
if the game had a 15-25$ price tag,would have been better,i honestly prefer those kind of game that the one filled with 40$ skins,because they need to offer something very good gameplay wise to make people buy your game,Free to Play you need just to hook that special kind of players (whales) in order to keep your game alive

I havent played the game, but it looks a bit like The Finals and the UI/Characters/Maps looks like they dont come from the same game.

The devs haven't committed a single sin? Have you seen the character designs? I can tell you how hero shooter can blow the market. Make it with sexy, cute girls. If The First Descendant can maintain 150k+ players with it's average gameplay experience, little to no content or character/gun variety, by only relying on Bunny's cake, so can a hero shooter. But we all know the western developers will never do that.

I was mostly with you until you started comparing Concord to games that are multiple years old. In the case of Gears 5, it's not even a live service game.
That's like saying Doom is dead because hardly anyone is playing Doom multiplayer.
It wasn't the player number comparison I was MOSTLY going for even thought it sounded like it. I was trying to make a point by saying "just because PlayStation and Xbox are publishing games, it doesn't mean the games they publish are gonna have long term success
Even if this were the greatest arena shooter ever made I wouldn't play it because it's just not my thing. I agree with you that not playing it because of pronouns or women being in the game, that is dumb. From what I've seen the issue there seems to be with a consulting company that pretty openly states they have a certain agenda and some people don't like that sort of thing. By saying it's just about surface level things like the above mentioned pronouns and inclusion of women is doing that argument a disservice. You can still make the argument that not liking the game because of the consultants that are involved is dumb, just be honest about it.
I don't understand what you're saying in the last part of your comment and please let me know if I'm just reading past it. I clearly stated multiple times in the video that Sony is the core reason why the game will fail. The pronoun and women argument was subsidiary but still important. It's not AS important but it's still something that people always bring up.
@@RedBeardMortis I have literally not heard a single person say anything about women being in the game. Not a one. If you're going to make that claim, I'd appreciate some examples. Especially because every single comparable game that is successful, has female characters. See Overwatch. No one mentions women being in the game. They mention absolutely godawful, hideously ugly character design, and their usual example for that is a female character, but no one cares that she's female, they care that she looks like a blob in football pads.
Just because other games have successful women characters, doesn't mean this game didn't get shit for having women characters. I swear I've seen the comments made on X and in livestreams. I wouldn't have said it if I didn't see it. I should've added examples yeah but I'm not gonna lie about that just for a video lol
idk man. Most of the discourse around this game seems to be that its a competently made shooter that just lacks creative vision and is a bit sterile/derivative. I dont doubt that the game will not survive long past its launch due to not doing enough to really stand out in a sea of competition. Below are some of my unsolicited opinions about the state of games discourse being so focused on being hyper-negative to farm engagement. So if you dont care, dont bother reading it.
To label Concord "complete garbage" or a "catastrophe" just seems indicative of the short term, engagement chasing hyperbole that floods twitter and youtube these days. I feel youre much more likely to build and KEEP long term, engaged viewership with balanced and nuanced takes that actually take in all the factors of an issue rather than just baiting with hyperbolic thumbnails, overly negative titles and a dusting of pronoun rage bait thrown in (I know you say the woke discourse around this game is dumb im speaking in general). You do actually offer some pretty nuanced takes in here. Your language in the video is much more realistic than your thumbnail and title would imply. With the absolute sea of youtubers jumping on the bandwagon of whatever stupid fucking thing gamers are mad about any given week, I usually just skip any videos that appear to be regurgitating the same tired talking points that are circulating twitter or whatever. I want people who will give their own opinion, not just say whatever they think will get them the most engagement (usually stupid shit like "x has gone woke" or "x game is garbage, irredeemable trash that you should never play" or whatever). Its fucking tiresome and boring. Sometimes games are bad, and we should talk about why theyre bad. But the ability of some creators to speak for 10min about a game wihtout saying more than "its bad, you shouldnt play it and the devs are gonna be fired. Massive L, F's in the chat" or whatever brainrot is incredible.
This game is nothing like something like redfall. That was actually a complete disaster worthy of all the negativity thrown at it. This game is well made, its just dull. A good amount of people will enjoy it for a few months past launch then theyll go back to overwatch or apex of whatever other game theyre playing. And itll be quietly shut down a year later. Hardly a nuclear level disaster. Just a story thats becoming increasingly common as more and more companies try to develop the next big live service hit.
Anyway just my two cents as someone who had this video recommended randomly in my feed. I know plenty of people enjoy negativity and find it more entertaining, but I just dont think its a viable way to grow an audience. When you build an audience of ppl who love to talk shit and hate on stuff without taking the time to really evaluate it in good faith, it feels like its just a matter of time before you have an opinion that they dont like and they just turn on you. I know this is strange but the color scheme and design is so bland. Nothing visually engaging or appealing about it. It looks like a free to play game to be honest.
Great video, but you lost me on the prounouns and female part of video tho, people don't have an issue with having females, we love that literally most guys use female carachters and they tend to be op in addition to their design or whatever reason people say, they have an issue with the fat, weird looking, ugly design of carachters which is a clear attempt of diversfying with weird ass looking carachters that are an eyesore to the player, also prounouns don't have to be a thing unless ur really trying to say something, especially for a stupid robot, just saying. To me and a lot of people Concord wasnt going to make it because of the woke agenda to begin with, most people didn't even know it was going to be 40$, but that's more of a reason.
