How odd... This Whelen is running on a Federal Signal UV, and is sounding hi-lo and alternate wail. It's rare for a MOD/DSA to be running these signals, so seeing a Whelen do them is even more rare.
OH MY GOSH! I LIVE NEAR THIS SIREN!! It only does a short alert now for about 45 seconds. I recorded the ambience from my house but I don't post them on RUclips.
Even though this is a vortex and can't do voice with whelen controls, could it do voice messagess since it has the ultra voice? And why do communities do this to whelens?

okay, thank you so much, I love the alternate wail tone but I don't like how high pitched it is, since whelens are more powerful than modulators does the higher pitch travel father?the largest modulator model available now is the 8032 and its 70db range is about 4200ft and in the modulator booklet it says that that is it effective range,and a whelen vortex's 70db range is about 5200ft but that is with a whelen tone,and id love to hear alternate and pulsed wail in a whelen 440htz and 560htz tone
Like I said before in the other comments it is stupid to put in UV controller in a siren that's designed for low pitch tones this is too high in fact if it was very very high or make this high-pitched that's not good for your ears they be blown out in 5 hours or less

That's a stupid that UV controllers can blow out of the drivers more easily seriously they're not supposed to take high-pitched tones I don't know why they put the UV controller in there but it sounds like a federal signal modulator and I really like the Echoes from the background
The fin are on the Whellen Vortexes but there not on the 4004 I think the fin is for decoration for the back but there 4004, 4008 and 3016 don’t have the fin present but the 4004 is literally the same thing as the vortex

This siren doesn’t have collector rings which helps the siren rotate all the way, so it isolates back and forth to prevent the wires from getting tangled up and snap.
FOR ANYONE WHO IS NEW TO THE COMMUNITY AND STUMBLES UPON THIS COMMENT: Older rotational Whelens(I'm talking about the 2000R like models) had conduction rings(my term). Newer Whelen Rotational models don't have that, instead they're hardwired. They use an oscillator. What this does is that it helps the siren not get the wires tangled up, and it stops in a specific position and switches direction. Like I said, this is for anyone new to the community.

The Killer Clown actually Monroe Co., Michigan put UV controllers on their Whelens to upgrade them to have them activate with their new Modulators. I think.
Welp, did Federal manufacture this siren, or does it have the same sound cards and as a 612 and Modulator? It has the sound of a Mod, but when the horn faces the camera, you can hear the whelen difference.

It can do UV Chimes because it has an Ultravoice controller like a modulator. It can also do the UV steady, wail, pulsed steady and pulse wail signals. It is also technically voice capable.

if the city can afford it, they'll keep on using the same tones until the drivers blow and replace them (repeat cycle as many times as necessary)
