Not sure why this isn’t up on RUclips anymore, but there is video of LSD doing this song on Letterman. While the audience was still applauding more and more at the end, Dave was out on the stage saying “Man! That’s the way it’s SUPPOSED to be!” Dave was right.
I just came across this band about a month or two ago. I've been long at this and dancing to the Beatles in the early 60s in my diapers. I truly love the vocalist. She hits my heart and soul hard.
My youngest daughter turned me on to this group several months ago, and I cannot get enough of them. Rachael's voice is tremendous, and the rest of the group is wonderful, both singing and on their instruments. The whole group just melds so well, it is amazing.
stilll can't get over what an incredible song this is. the instrumentation, the beats, the build, the voice, the ANGER. not a despair or rage thing tho, just these little punching bouts of anger like rocky training for the next fight lol. a cathartic shout . that tiredness and also joy and pain and just the undeniable energy of starting over. it is SO good
Stumbled upon this song on a radio show. Holy!!!!!! SO HAPPY that I found this talented group of artists. This song skyrocketed to the top of my favorite song list in seconds ❤
I listened to this song on repeat while I was painting portraits in the middle of the night for my senior art show. It was awful and wonderful. Love them.
This song hits me hard. It is the anthem of the 25-year old woman who dabbles in things, starts projects, wanders, meanders, but lacks meaning and wide-eyedly searches for purpose and connection in a world of other people doing things.
Meaning is relative & subjective. Meaning in a personal perspective, is to take over responsibility, no matter for what, and get used to it. You cannot take back once made decisions, but learn from the ones that were a fail. There´s no substitute for this. If you let your life make the decisions for you, don´t blame others for it, stop complaining, and take matters into your hands. Projects are for engineers. I never got why this term gets overused these days.
Loved this song the first time I heard it on WXPN 90.5 in Bmore! I thought it was a lost Carly Simon song from the 70's. Rachael hit this out of the park w/ those vocals!
Phylicia George Yes, reminiscent of Carly Simon (one of my favorite artists) indeed. I've been thinking that for days and even spun my vinyl of Tapestry as a result. I've just discovered this group last week and cannot get enough. They are the perfect medicine to mend my mind and nerves, shattered daily as a result of trying to teach a particularly tough and out of control seventh grade in Cleveland, Ohio. LSD is superlative ALL THE WAY AROUND!!!!!!!! Thank you Bridget, Mike, Mike and Rachel for the healing. (only 27 more days of school ...thank the good Lord!!!)
just heard this on 88.9 Emerson radio first time ever awesome voice drums are great love the upright bass very cool. her voice reminds me of Bonnie Raitt. just when I felt like music was dead
This is a fantastic song, played by excellent musicians and perfectly sung by one of the best vocalists around. Like so many others, I was surprised to have not heard them before and tried to think why such great group never really "made it", so I sat down and listened to LSD for a few days and after spending 2-3 days combing through everything that they've ever done that I could find online, I realized all of a sudden that nobody else is taking the lead at any point. It's a bit like a finding a great mechanic with lots of knowledge but the only thing in his tool box is a hammer - it only works well when the job calls for just a hammer. That's what Rachael's voice is - an excellent hammer to which the band plays for, but after days of listening and not finding one healthy guitar solo, or a front and center discussion between the bass and the drums, everything stays in the background of that fabulous voice, but to my ears it can only carry the band so far. Couldn't help making the comparison in my head to another incredible female vocalist which I love to pieces - Susan Tedeschi, front woman of the Tedeschi Trucks Band, with her husband Derek Trucks on the lead guitar. In my view, it's like finding that great mechanic but this time with a full tool box. Susan hammers the vocals to perfection, but Derek and the band take turns behind the wheel all the time, and that makes for a much more complete package as a listening experience. Still, a great song and fabulous vocals: thanks for bringing this kind of joy to the world!
Decades of popular music (especially since guitar gained such prominence) have conditioned us to expect a pat formula in songcraft - intro, verse, verse, chorus, verse verse, chorus, instrument solo, verse, chorus, outtro, or something along those lines. Newer generations aren't sticking to that as closely; in fact, musicianship and mastery of instruments have taken a back seat to a groove + vocals formula. The latter, however, is most certainly NOT the case with LSD - if you doubt that, check out this number: ruclips.net/video/OMEPgLxvNPk/видео.html. And even when they are not showcasing instrumental virtuosity, it's going on in the background. Just listen to what the guitarist is doing in this one: ruclips.net/video/WFDqa1mmzVs/видео.html. Listen more closely, friend.
Great song... Love to see the band in the studio recording... And totally agree with the mic choices... like that Electra Voice RE-20 on the floor tom seen at 0:23. But the illusion of this as an actual video shot during the recording session wouldn't have been spoiled if there would have been a cable actually plugged into that EV RE-20 at 0:23. ;) And at again at 3:04 where the bass player is listening to headphones through the monitor matrix, but her headphones are not actually plugged into the headphone monitor matrix. Can't let those ugly cables get in the way of a good camera shot, init. ;)
I am a studio engineer. Funny to see mics in videos that aren't plugged in. I also played a cover of this song in a band. The true beauty of this music is in the details... for those who are able to see and hear the details.
I've always wondered though, who are the people doing the background vocals? My hearing is not distinguished enough to tell if it's just the band members (as hinted at during several fragments in the video) in a different recording or if it's some other people. Was this recorded simultaneously or played during the performance or edited afterwards? Seeing as how Rachel goes with the vibe of it from 2:45 and onward it feels like either it's simultaneous or the background vocals have been recorded afterwards, but I'm not very knowledgeable about this. Just musing, ranting.
+Dorfnite adding tracks in later would result in a higher quality recording, so this is probably what they did. If rachel can hear it, it's probably through her headphones.
Ps. A lot of people seem to be posting where they heard this song, so I figure I should give credit to my awesome guitar teacher, who played this for us in class. Thanks Mr. Tanner!
@Michael M. It just means she wore her hair in a side-ponytail for so long during the Side Pony tour, I got so used to seeing her that way. We all love her, too.
I can relate,. I'm typically into more noisy stuff and I don't even remember or know how I first stumbled upon these guys, but man am I glad I did, the songs they create are so, so damn tasty... and for a pop band, they play the shit out of their instruments, particularly that voice. For my money, she's one of the best singers in the world.
I’m of the mind that if you actually love music that when something is good the genre/style doesn’t matter. LSD makes straight up good music, and that’s why I like them.
Two things:First, February 18 is my birthday. Unfortunately, I didn't know about these guys on THAT February 18. Shame. Would've been a great birthday present.Second, I'm currently writing a parody to this song for my science class. The project is about recycling, which I think really works with the original song's themes of reinventing yourself after you've been dumped. (Pun very intended.)

Then you're gonna love their cover of Don't Let Me Down!
My youngest daughter turned me on to this group several months ago, and I cannot get enough of them. Rachael's voice is tremendous, and the rest of the group is wonderful, both singing and on their instruments. The whole group just melds so well, it is amazing.
She didnt have to freaking kill this vocals like that I'm in love. They need more notice . She sounds the freaking same live and on the single
Where have I been all my life? Why have I listened to you only now? I am so happy I found you.
Thanks for the refreshing comment
For your entire life, you've always been exactly where you were. Couldn't be any other way. ;-)
Welcome to the beautiful glory that is Rachel Prices voice!!! She is incredulous. 💯 listen to “u go down smooth” next 👍
I just randomly remembered this song after not listening to it for years. I cant believe i was a kid when i first heard this wow such a throw back
Such a timeless quality to this song. Could be a Motown song from the 60s.
Ro G yes
Bassist is my favorite. killer energy, solo chops, vox, solid man, solid.
Her name is Bridget Kearney and she wrote this Tune 😎😎😎
stilll can't get over what an incredible song this is. the instrumentation, the beats, the build, the voice, the ANGER. not a despair or rage thing tho, just these little punching bouts of anger like rocky training for the next fight lol. a cathartic shout . that tiredness and also joy and pain and just the undeniable energy of starting over. it is SO good
If this song doesn't take you guys to the top of the charts ... I'm not sure what will. Utterly fantastic piece!
In this upside down world? Sell their souls.
Beautiful things are always missing discovery

How is this not a Top 40 hit already? An awesome song!
When they blow up ( and they will ) it'll be felt around the planet .
I've seen them three times down here in Australia already. Great band, and what a voice she has.
First song I ever heard by them. Still my favorite!
it's these type of people ... that give music a good reputation...hooorahh!
I'd like to say from human to human man to woman, I see you as an amazing vocalist. Fills my heart with soulful feelings. Thanks lass.
I listen to her music and every time i have a nearly uncontrollable urge to hug her..That's how joyful her singing is to me..Bravo !!!!
Just heard them on NPR's " Ask Me Another" show. GOD , this group is great!
This song hits me hard. It is the anthem of the 25-year old woman who dabbles in things, starts projects, wanders, meanders, but lacks meaning and wide-eyedly searches for purpose and connection in a world of other people doing things.
I hope you've found some more meaning by now :)

I believe we're kindred spirits!

That's a jam and a half. Found some magic with this one. Bravo.
I love old school music. This is the first band that I thought...damn what a great version of the vintage songs we grew up listening too
Love this song, and the singer and band are fantastic. I could listen to her all day. Great job!
They're all amazing but the main's vocals take them over the edge. This song is fantastic too!
Well, I definitely see a gorgeous woman with awesome vocals. I love it!
IMO; each of these individually, very talented, very tight and good together.
just heard this on 88.9 Emerson radio first time ever awesome voice drums are great love the upright bass very cool. her voice reminds me of Bonnie Raitt. just when I felt like music was dead
Bonnie Rait? Whew! Not to me, not even close - more like Carly Simon with a twist of soul.
Carly Simon? Whataya crazy? She's closer to Linda Rondstadt if you ask me.
No, you're not any of those things. She's a great tribute to all of those ladies with her own twist!
It's the incomparable rachael Price
Listening to Miranda Lamberts playlist and this is on it. I absolutely love this chic's music. I must hear more! Thanks Ran!!! :)
This is by far the most interresting band I have heard this year. So good music, musicians and incredible voices, both the lead vocal and the others!
that voice and man that accent gotta love it and beautiful to boot not to mention her style the bestm

Love this, has a Squeeze tone to it
Great call. Does very much sound like a Squeeze song. One of my favorite songs in the past 10 years.
Quelle voix! Super groupe! Bravo et merci. Il existe un CD?

I'm not used to seeing Bridget without her side pony.
@Michael M. It just means she wore her hair in a side-ponytail for so long during the Side Pony tour, I got so used to seeing her that way. We all love her, too.
Not really sure what to make of me liking this music. Definitely quite a detachment from my usual. Very good stuff though.

Wow. Outstanding.
I like the way she is crosseying at the microphone! 😂
songwriting is on point
Anyone else who enjoys this, should give a listen to a band called Pomplamoose. Great musicianship and remarkable mashups.
