Well, you can get a VPN, although I've heard that it's gonna get banned in the near future or somewhat. But you can still get all that you can get in the U.S., whether it's things similar to FB, Twitter, Instagram, RUclips, Uber, and much more. The only good thing that I can think of where U.S. is better than China, for now, is RUclips. TED talks, National Geographics, and maybe some teachers. However, we do have access to FB, RUclips and all that in Hongkong, so it's not really a restricted internet, it just depends on where you are in China. You can also go to Taiwan and get access to these sites. I believe Macau also has free internet, not sure about that though.

In Toronto Canada we deal with with weather extremes of 40C to -40C, the standard rail we have requires high maintenance due to the temperature shift and icing in the winter. A high speed rail line with such temperature extremes becomes more complicated. Trans-continental and international railway lines sounds good. But what rail gauge shall be used? And why old-fashioned steel wheel trains? Japan will connect Seoul to it's railnetwork, but definitely by their new developed magnetic leviation trains (cuz much faster). So why the Chinese use these outdated steelrail technology in various gauges?
Maglev is actually much less attractive than you expected compared to a bullet train cuz air resistance is the main issue at high speed. A much higher construction cost is also a shortcoming.
Maglevs use liquid helium to cool the magnets. We as a planet are running out of helium fast unless we can somehow commercialize D-T fusion and mass produce it.
Chinese also has MegLev technology - Shanghai Maglev Train. Look at Japan's Meglev (Chuo Shinkansen) and check how long and how much for them to build. It's just like building a network with optic vs Cable in a community. Demand vs Cost. The price to repay Meglev (on each ticket) will be a lot higher than regular high speed rail. Concord vs Boeing 747 perhaps is a good example.

China paid 80 millions for Germany ICE technology, as stated in a documentary of the development of CRH.

Ego won't stand against simple economics. China holds about $3 trillion in US treasury bonds. Once China has enough trading partners it will turn to the US and say "we won't buy anymore of your treasury bonds". If that's still not enough she will sell some or all the bonds she has. The bond market will punish the US further with high interest rates. The American project will be over. A few years later China will buy America at 10 cents on the dollar.
The US has been selling bits of itself for close to 50 years. Capitalists were looking for more profit year-over-year. Manufacturing went wherever labor was cheapest. Intellectual property went along with it. "That's okay, we've got banks" says America and they started selling evermore expensive houses to each other.
China will conquer the world without firing a shot. And I welcome this development.

India has also friendly relations with England despite the 200 year colonial invasion. I understand that the english should apologise to India on similar terms. I say this as an Indian because if Japan and China could be at peace with each other then many issues with India and China can also be solved that are linked with Japan.
It's not about superiority. It is about living in harmony. India too has been robbed off for the last 1000 years by invasions followed by a socialist rule. Now if India and China at not on similar terms, it would be difficult to co-operate. China is flexing it's muscles to parts of South East Asia. Things would turn out better if they maintain peace with Japan and India. That's what our philosopher Buddha told.

Getting through America ego will take longer time than to actually build it.
In Toronto Canada we deal with with weather extremes of 40C to -40C, the standard rail we have requires high maintenance due to the temperature shift and icing in the winter. A high speed rail line with such temperature extremes becomes more complicated. The weather in Alaska and going through Canada is complicated and you must deal with Native lands who will fight you every step of the way.

Well, train connections, particularly cargo trains will sure be a key ingredient of economic integrations worldwide and high speed trains could add to this. These however, are only one part of economic and social globalization and other parts must be much more air traffic and any other form of economically viable transport of goods e.g. via ship.

Electricity supply; Wireless navigation signals; Computer software and monitoring system; Driving controls systems; Drivetrains shock absorbing system, etc

fyi. Today's Japan shinkansen construction speed. in Nagasaki 66.7km, Japan need 13 years to construct.
The slow shinkansen started way back in the 1960s. The current trains travel at above 500km.

It's a fail formulae.....whole of Russia is sparsely populated except it's western part bordering east Europe. Building high speed railway in such place with harsh climate is not feasible even after 100 years.Same is the case with Alaska.

Batur GunL the rail lines are used to transport humans AND “river” to feed unlimited cargo trains. They can run 24-7 with little fleet on autonomously delivering goods 365 days per year. Pure genius way to spend your budget surplus while you’re “on top”.
The train ride from London to New York dosn't seam realsitic as it would be faster just to fly over the atlantic ocean than crossing the entire European and Asian continent as well as crossing Alaska and Canada
What the speaker doesn't really say is all these projects are for fast freight - so China can expert it's goods to markets around the world faster, more cost-effectively and respond to market requirements quicker.

Trans-continental and international railway lines sounds good. But what rail gauge shall be used? And why old-fashioned steel wheel trains? Japan will connect Seoul to it's railnetwork, but definitely by their new developed magnetic leviation trains (cuz much faster). So why the Chinese use these outdated steelrail technology in various gauges?
Maglev is actually much less attractive than you expected compared to a bullet train cuz air resistance is the main issue at high speed. A much higher construction cost is also a shortcoming.
Maglevs use liquid helium to cool the magnets. We as a planet are running out of helium fast unless we can somehow commercialize D-T fusion and mass produce it.
China is on the way to the moon to get helium3 for their fusion reactors now.
Chinese also has MegLev technology - Shanghai Maglev Train. Look at Japan's Meglev (Chuo Shinkansen) and check how long and how much for them to build. It's just like building a network with optic vs Cable in a community. Demand vs Cost. The price to repay Meglev (on each ticket) will be a lot higher than regular high speed rail. Concord vs Boeing 747 perhaps is a good example.
