I’ve been growing arugula. I planted seeds the night before last and they have already grown 1 inch tall! I planted rocket arugula 3 weeks ago and they are big, fat, and 8 inches tall (so tasty!).
Hi Missilla!! So nice to see your harvests!! I am zone 6b northeast Ohio - some of our kale wintered over and has already bolted! I snapped the flower stalks and we enjoyed them with dinner! So yummy! A lot like broccali. Thanks for the reminder about microgreens. Maybe I can try again to grow some! I have a tiny greenhouse with a few trays of cole crop seedlings - hoping to get them into the garden next week. Take care!
Instead of red radish you can grow daikon for the greens. The daikon leaves or daikon greens are tender and have a mild flavor. If you want to be self sufficient, grow some bamboo. This wonder plant supplies the world with food, fuel and furniture as well as beautifies your garden.
I have to say you are a treasure! I’m so glad I chose to watch your channel. You make me excited to start my own garden of goodness! Thank you for sharing your knowledge.

Thank you for your sweet, thoughtful message at beginning ❤️❤️❤️ I’m just getting started on growing a few crops! I grew a few items several years ago but was enjoyed by outside critters. Now, I believe, I have the hang (or lack of munchers?) of handling the munchers😊

@@LearnToGrow1 thank you so much! I don't have a whole lot of sun for my garden or maybe it's just me who's choosing the wrong herbs and veggies the grow. You’re welcome! Remember, when you’re regrowing most annual vegetables, they will eventually flower and go to seed with the exception of scallions or green onions which are perennials so they’ll grow year round and most varieties are cold hardy to -10 degrees Fahrenheit. 🙂🎄🌱💚
@@LearnToGrow1 so far, I was able to successfully grow green onions and I was so happy and said, " Gosh! Finally something is growing healthy!" I want to grow more items that are easy like that.
Hello! Right now I'm using your method to regrow store brought vegetables! So glad I found your channel:D Btw, would you be comfortable answering this question: Are you Thai?
Hi! Make sure to change the water every daily or every other day to prevent bacteria growth...you can also plant them directly in the soil, but keep it moist. I’m Filipino. 😊 Thanks for watching and have a great weekend! Misilla
You’re welcome! Not yet, plan on putting them out in mid-May or when soil temperature is at least 55 degrees Fahrenheit. Will slowly acclimate them starting at the end of April. Have a great day, it’s beautiful out, and thanks for watching! Misilla
Hi Jacqueline, If it's already getting warm, you can grow microgreens indoors. A lot of these vegetables are cool weather crops, but you kale and chard can tolerate some heat. You can also try planting them in an area where they get morning sun and in the shade during the afternoon heat. You can plant all these crops in early fall and they will do great when it's cooler. Thanks for watching! Misilla
Hi Derek, Arugula can be harvested up to its maturity stage between 45-60 days after seeding. It will eventually go to seed, keep sowing every two to three weeks for a continuous harvest. Thanks for watching, have a great week! Misilla
@@LearnToGrow1 one is definitely going to seed but I don't mind and my neighbors will love me because it's in a window box.. if my horseradish goes to seed tho they will kill me.. :)
Thanks for pointing this out. I'll edit that part. Read more about chemicals used to make paper towel. Wonder if the same chemicals are used on grow mats. Will have to look into that.

I agree very much that growing our own food helps a lot with anxiety, even depression.
Thank you for mentioning ideal temperatures for veggies to grow. Very helpful!

That's a good selection of quick-growing plants. I put Pea Shoots in the same category. They don't take long. Spring is such a great time!

I love bamboo, but they spread so quickly. I harvest bamboo from my aunt and uncle’s property, they have more room to grow them.
Daikon leaves is a great idea!
