- Here is my two week experience with the Casio G Shock G Steel Connected Bluetooth Watch. Its rugged with Shock resistance, 200M water resistance, metal or resin band and bluetooth connection for accurate time, quick world time change and a phone finder feature. Is this the best connected bluetooth watch thats not a smart watch?

Gorgeous watch period! It's a masculine watch not a unisex, which I love the design face and it's built like a tank! Reminds me of a Hublot Big Bang without the 20k price tag and with smart features.
Based on looks alone I want this watch yesterday!

Light and automatic movement. Spring drive is a quartz automatic hybrid so ik its possible. Now we just need to marry the expensive uber complicated movements to technology nice smart watches

It’s a BLUETOOTH watch not a smart watch. Which means it has a few more features than a normal old school watch, which is cool in my opinion. The smart tech (notifications, fitness tracking) will be outdated in 1-2 years but this watch won’t! This is a great long term investment in my eyes.
I just bought it on amazon and I am honestly in love with the watch. Looks even better in real life than online. It is built like a tank, but just the right size- not overly big. Bluetooth functions work seamlessly through the app and I have no complaints. Perfect mixture of style and function / sporty and classy. This will be my new everyday work watch.
it is built to last ,I too was fascinated for smartwatches but it is a junk after 2 years it will lags ,and the software will be outdated ,that's why I bought this one

Does this watch constantly try to communicate with your phone forcing you to keep the app open all the time? Does this in turn run down your iPhone battery?
A watch is all about finding a soul that tells time and be with you enhancing external appearance. I think GST b200 d is gonna be my soulmate

Cool watch. But, you're wearing it too close to your hand. That limits your range of motion.
Great review man. I picked one up today. I much prefer a traditional watch over the smart watches. You can't beat the look in my opinion. Smart watches have their purpose i suppose but they're not for me.

I have it on my hand right now. Great watch! Very accurate all the time. The only downside for this watch in my opinion is the band. It seems so cheap for this kind of watch.

@@dannywinget I saw the one with the bracelet in a store. I think the rubber strap will keep the watch on your wrist more firmly. It seems like a nice, soft rubber strap. Great watch, by the way!

Can you tell, how precisely this model moves, how many seconds is the permissible error for a month or a year?
I've recently brought the black leather strap with orange stitching and the brown leather with white stitching to fit this watch..both look and feel amazing.. 30.00pounds each...realy lift the watch to another level...

Got this watch today (steel version) and it's a beauty, I would highly recommend it; my only concern prior to its arrival was that it might look too big but it doesn't at all. Yes, it has 'presence' but is also very stylish and looks perfectly sized on my wrist (I'm 6ft, 95kg with relatively thin wrists for my size)

@@gk_knight yeah, it’s functioning perfectly well and still connects with my mobile without any issues 👍🏼
The only thing I would say is that I’ve had to repaint a couple of the letters in the ‘G Shock’ logo on the dial but it’s really easy to do with enamel paints and a cloth to wipe away the excess

Yeah I like this one. My G-Shock is almost ten years old now.
G Shock watches are the shit. They’re the ultimate throw it on and don’t worry about it watch; no matter what you’re doing.

I just brought this watch today thanks to this video. I know I’m late to the party but I got mine for $280 total. This was a great deal in my opinion for such a great looking watch. Love the steel versions of the g shocks.

nope. and this function is very stupid, it works only when watch near phone… and it didnt work if cassio app do not running on the pohone
Don't judge the power of g-shock unless you try it..... I have a casio gshock g9000 mudman..... Truly mud resistance and 200m water resistance and automatic light glows in dark when you see time

EXCELLENT video! I want this watch. I was looking seriously at the Citizen PCAT (titanium version). But this is a little cheaper and the Bluetooth connection should serve my needs just as well as the Atomic Clock feature on the Citizen. GOOD JOB!
I just picked up the carbon fiber version of this watch... and feel that paying approx 2x more and still getting the same limited Bluetooth functionality is IMO not worth the going price. Not sure why Casio is going this route with Bluetooth. At the least, give me some minimal “smart” features such as vibration notifications!!! I would much rather Casio stick with their tried-and-true Multiband-6 time-syncing technology which ALWAYS gives accurate timekeeping without having to be dependant on a accompanying smartphone.

The biggest gripe I have with this watch is it doesn’t connect to my phone without opening the app on this crap iPhone XR. It worked great with SE.
All I want is to set the watch, easily. I don’t want a Fitbit. People need to stop bitching about this not being one,
this is a dope watch.
I think a vibrator for notifications would compromise too much battery space and need a better connection than BT can offer.. (plus, it seems a bit redundant) and the BT syncing, although a little hassle is more versatile for international travel since multi band 6 is only in a few countries. Casio knows wtf
i own that watch and I love it ! The only negative is that it doesn't have atomic reception

The watch looks great and luxurious but the led light bulb makes it look cheap.. Hope they can have their own indiglo like tech to match the design and feel of their gshock watches..
I have one, its just a "normal" watch for that moments when You dont need the thermometer, altimeter, commpas, just an elegant good looking watch, i also have the gravity master and the mud master

Finally, G-Shock got me to look and consider one of their watches. Nice design and features, but the sizing is still more for clowns rather than gentlemen. By the way, a Casio G-Shock is not a "timepiece." It's just a wristwatch.
It refuses to connect and this item was a gift and is out of return period.. am I screwed?
Now here is my query. Watches, especially when it is so expensive, you wd typically want to use for a decade or two. Mobile tech and apps however have a very short life time, say 2-3 years. So as the various OS and mobile tech evolve over the next two decade, will the app for the watch too be upgraded or will the mobile tech aspect of the watch become obsolete in 2-3 years?
It might not be the case, since the app is a software property, so unless there's some rare unexpected bug or compatibility issue (which can easily be fixed with a few fix/security patches ), it basically stays the same, as apps for watches don't require many changes and updates imo, for what their purposes are. It depends on the commitment of the devs, though.

All the BT is for is setting the watch with your phone anywhere in the world. Multiband 6 is only available in Japan, North America, UK, Europe, and China..
I got this because I wanted an accurate watch that needed as little maintenance as possible. No time-day-date-adjusting or changing battery. Plus a little peace-of-mind, to a lot of people that’s worth an extra $200..it’s a pretty simple watch, really.

I love the rugged looks of the watch but may be too big for my wrist. I exercise and am not a skinny guy but my wrist is so small :(
They need to integrate the smart features of the G-Shock Move into the build and look of this device. Most smart functionality can run in the background with only basic exercise time/heart rate/distance that needs to be displayed for running with a step counter meter visible when you aren’t running. This could easily be integrated into this watch. I could care less about reading email/texts on a watch, simply pinging my wrist to alert me is all I need from a smartwatch. If Casio can build THAT device I would buy it immediately.
My problem I have with this watch is that it does not stay connected to my phone. It will pair no problem when I launch the app and press the connect button. But when it connects, the watch hands stop moving, as soon as I press the light button to wake the watch up again, it disconnects from the phone and the app doesn't see it as connected. Which renders the "find my phone" feature non functional.

nice review but the bezel at the lug isn't rounded making it look chucky, not a fan. Until they get of this sharp edge look i'm not a fan.

I am new to this watchaholic .. What should i buy the G-shock GST-B200 Carbon Core or the G-shock GST-B100BNR-1A..which is better and what are the difference between the two..
Love to know how long the timer and stopwatch last for? Biggest problem with Casio Waveceptor (also excellent!) is that the stopwatch lasts just one hour, which is useless for most applications. Hoping the GST-B100D-1AER does better?

No notifications, what's the use for connecting with your phone if just for time setting, you can just use radio signal for that.

I like the watch and it's features, but it certainly has the price tag to match.
Wondering whats the Bluetooth range
G-Steel is a great line! That turbine is really tacky in my opinion on this one though. I would've been a great all analog G-Steel but the Bluetooth connectivity is meh. The point of having a watch is also not to rely on your phone.
