Good review man. The reason it can't do text and email alerts is the Bluetooth isn't always connected. That would drain too much power with current technology. Personally I'd much rather have this watch as it is with great battery life.

I dont understand the idea of "smart" watches, I need my watch when my phone isn't avaliable to me, like when I'm in a swimming pool, or when I need to know the precise time to the second in my job, where a phone isn't permitted, I dont think smart watches will take off. I love Casio's Radio controlled watches, maybe because In my line of work, I need the bang on correct time to the second, plus I need a digital time display, I currently have a G shock W310d, I love it, its dual analogue/digital display, best of both worlds.

This watch is sick except it’s Bluetooth so your phone has to have Bluetooth on at all times if you wanna use that stuff. Does anyone know if Bluetooth will eat away your battery like data?

This would not be considered a "smart watch", but rather a featured watch. For $400 or less you could pick up a Samsung Gear S3 in either Frontier or Classic. To elaborate further on that point, if you buy the LTE model of either, it can also be a standalone device. The only disadvantage would be the need to charge every few days. With all that said, between a true smart watch like the Gear S3 and a featured or even standard G Shock, the only correct answer is to get both.

chan hoong connect the watch to your phone and click the settings sign on the top right. Select your watch model and click on “phone finder settings”. Then change the volume. Its a bit late but just in case u were still wondering.

Bernd Lippert scratches do not appear to easily but after a few months they will. and yes you. an use under water
