This is the G-Shock G-Steel Smart Bluetooth Connected watch from Casio. It not only looks super classy, modern, and top quality, but it also has some cool tech features hidden inside!
The watch is completely solar powered, shock resistant, 200 meters water resistant, LED light illuminator, multi-function rotating disk that looks like jet engine blades, connects to your phone and it will auto sync the precise internet time to the watch. You can also set an Alarm and Timer countdown from the app. There's dual-time zones you can easily set and swap home cities for when traveling. My favorite feature is Phone Finder, simply hold the FIND button on the watch, and it will start ringing your phone - perfect for those times you can't find your phone in the couch cushions or wherever.
Overall, it's a fun mix of classic analog technology and new school modern tech all packed together.

Could you tell me if the Bluetooth app reboots time 4 times per day as stated? Mine, doesn't seem to. Got power saving mode on and have a modern P20pro Huawei? Thanks in advance. 👍

I am very excited about this and excited that Casio is innovating in this way. I would love a customizable notification system (even if just a small LED or vibration), something subtle, low-power, but useful.

Good review man. The reason it can't do text and email alerts is the Bluetooth isn't always connected. That would drain too much power with current technology. Personally I'd much rather have this watch as it is with great battery life.
Great model. The g-steel collection offers a lot of value all things considered. I just reviewed the gst b200g rose gold instead and love it but will definitely get ny hands on the gst b100 soon.

I saw citizen has one that does all this plus email and text alert features. They put the text and email words on the bezel and the watch will beep then the second hand will point to one of them for a few seconds then resume normal operation when a text or email is received.

- How scratch resistance is the steel frame and wrist band?
- I assume it has the same G-Schock resistance ratings? Can I use it in the sauna and in water?
Bernd Lippert scratches do not appear to easily but after a few months they will. and yes you. an use under water

Why are there two slight variants of this model name and what's the difference between them? I see MTG-B1000D-1A and also MTG-B1000D-1AER.

I dont understand the idea of "smart" watches, I need my watch when my phone isn't avaliable to me, like when I'm in a swimming pool, or when I need to know the precise time to the second in my job, where a phone isn't permitted, I dont think smart watches will take off.
I love Casio's Radio controlled watches, maybe because In my line of work, I need the bang on correct time to the second, plus I need a digital time display,
I currently have a G shock W310d, I love it, its dual analogue/digital display, best of both worlds.

The phone ring when you press the find button but definitely not out loud. I can barely hear its. Are there a way to set it? There aren’t volume button for setting..
chan hoong connect the watch to your phone and click the settings sign on the top right. Select your watch model and click on “phone finder settings”. Then change the volume. Its a bit late but just in case u were still wondering.

This watch is sick except it’s Bluetooth so your phone has to have Bluetooth on at all times if you wanna use that stuff. Does anyone know if Bluetooth will eat away your battery like data?

This would not be considered a "smart watch", but rather a featured watch. For $400 or less you could pick up a Samsung Gear S3 in either Frontier or Classic. To elaborate further on that point, if you buy the LTE model of either, it can also be a standalone device. The only disadvantage would be the need to charge every few days. With all that said, between a true smart watch like the Gear S3 and a featured or even standard G Shock, the only correct answer is to get both.
but it's a Samsung!... Not going to be remotely as durable as the Casio, Most of us don't really care about the stuff missing. The items that are included are real world things that we use everyday...
