Today we'll be doing a short comparison between the Metal G-Shock lineups, starting with the top of the line MR-G, going thru the MT-G ( metal twisted G ) and all the way down to GST ( G-Steel ), just to see what you lose as you go down the price range. This will be a bit of a buying guide for GShock watches from luxury to regular, so let me know if you would like to see more lineups and models compared?
The reason I am doing this video is that I get a lot of emails asking me to explain the differences between some models.
I hope you enjoy :)

I bought the $800 MT-G in the shiny steel and black resin color. It looks so awesome in any lit room. Best watch ever.
Which model, sir?
I always thought it was pronounced Mister G lol
Lol same with me 😅
That may be intentional as they have a women’s line called G-MS. Though, it’s priced more like the G-Steel series and not the MR-G
It is Mr G
I heard that this comes from "Majestic Reality G"
Good video. Is interesting to note that the GW-5000U is a square G-Shock, made in Japan, full metal case with DLC screwback. Is the most expensive square (except for the MR-G square) yet is 10-20 times cheaper than a regular MR-G.
This is exactly what I was looking for. Would love to see more of the other model families in the Casio line up please. Thanks!!
Wish this video was around when i first started being interested in gshocks , but then i guess there simply was not the breadth of range in existence. Great job Ty!
Thanks for the kind words 😊
NOW I KNOW THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THOSE LINE-UPS ! THANKS ! YOU HAVE A SPECIFIC VOICE ! NICE TO HEARING !
I’m binge-watching your videos today. What about the MTG-900? From what I gather, it’s been around since 2003 and was the first MTG and one of the first G Shocks to have solar/atomic features. It’s still in production after all these years even though it definitely looks like a watch from the early 2000’s. They sell enough of them where they gave them and update several years ago.
Definitely like this format. Short, useful and high quality information. I've had G Shocks since the 90s and Casio watches since the 80s.
Thanks 😊
I really enjoyed watching this video. I've been shopping the g-steel line so this was timely and informative. I would like to see more buying guides from you. The Casio catalog is massive, so it can be confusing to the average person. I also collect Timex and their catalog is seemingly infinite.
I'm glad I helped and you can expect more 😊👍
I have a thing for the skill of the Japanese and own high end Japanese things in my life, from cameras to cars to watches, so thanks for the knowledge that my MRG is indeed made in Japan 😊
Thanks for the video mate, will be looking to add some G-Shock metal to my collection soon
thank you. this has been extremely useful as the g shock lineups are very difficult to navigate for a first-timer like me
I have MTG-G1000.
It's very cool watch!
Where can I get a pyramid list of g shock hierarchy? from basic low-end model right up until the very very top notch the flagship ones
Idk
This is what I'm looking for.
lol
I think it’s
G-Shock
Masters of G and G-Steel (about equal in price but MoG is more of a performance/high durability watch while G-Steel is more of a luxury watch)
MTG
MR-G
The casio factory in Thailand produces high quality solid watches as good as they produce in Japan, off course the materials on MRG are of a higher grade and standard, no doubt about that.
I wouldn't touch any Metal G made in China or elsewhere,
"Made in Thailand" G Shock watches are of a very high standard and quality.
Off course "made in Japan" is first choice! But they're very pricey! But any Casio watch made in Thailand is solidly built and assembled.
My wife is getting the MTG-B1000 for me from Japan. This video had me convinced that these are better than luxury brands which costs way more.
Congrats 😊
You won't be disappointed! I own the MTG-B1000B-1A with the black metal and the craftsmanship is truly amazing. With the bluetooth connection, setting up and adjusting your watch settings are a snap.
I highly suggest getting Coolfire for charging your watch. It's safer than direct sunlight and doesn't overheat the watch battery. Getting your solar watch fully charged is easy with this.
@@Cipher73 I wanted the black one also, but I own MTM Falcon in black titanium. This watch is truly amazing.
Great overview. I just got one of the last MRG-G1000DC-1ADR available, maybe the last one. The design is just outstanding, albeit not quite mainstream.
👍 good buying guide video...!
thank you
Thank you for this video. This is actually the best video of the dozens I've seen on watches.
Thanks
Sir,thank you so much for this video,it’s really helpful and so well explained everything, appreciate so much your effort 💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻🙇🏻
I wear a g-steel. I have an 8-inch wrist. I'm 6 ft 3 in tall 225 lb and finally they make a watch that's very manly for someone my size. I love it.
Thanks, very useful, especially for confusing lineup, like Casio's.
There's more guides coming up 😉
Excellent! Comprehensive and informative! Thank you.
Thankyou much.
You've helped me narrow down my watch needs, price point and purchase options.
Very useful to understand differences and select easier the needed watch! Thanks!
Great video explaining these Casio watches have been enjoying viewing your videos and keep up the good work
Thanks 😁👍
Good video to explain the different metal g-shocks. I'm not interested in plastic watches but the metal ones might be interesting
Thank you for this video, VERY helpful! Subbed!
Thank and I appreciate the subscription
I love the quick buying guide
Nice job comparing them. Although larger than my usual taste, the MR-G is my favorite and becomes an exception regarding size for me. It's bezel is beautiful. Good useful info and helpful. 👍

*_More vids like this please⁉️ A very informative yet short production. ‘Preciate it._*
This video is SO GOOD! Thank you!
OMG.
My GShocks cost me less than US $100.
Still tough but if I had the dough. I would get one of these G Shocks.
My GST-110d was made in Japan
Very nice explanation, great video, any idea why Casio are ditching all digital metal G shocks??
I'm still using my all digital 10 year old Casio MTG 930du, I don't like analogue watches, and I dont like the new B1000d 35th anniversary watch.
I understand it's fine to use analogue in the MRG/MTG line ups, but Casio should definitely make an all digital round GST type watch.
Any idea if Casio has any plans to release an All digital round GST anytime soon?
Very clear and easy to understand thank you very much!
Thank you. I understood just fine. :)
Awesome buying guide. Thanks!
Can you make a guide between ocw and mrg? I am wondering about the size , weight, and which factory they made.
Great comparison. Very clear and informative. Thank you.
I'm glad I helped 😁
I enjoyed this vlog very much
I have 3 gshock my favorite is MTG B1000, and the gd400
Very helpful! Thank you 😊
Very helpful. Thanks
Great video concept! Looking forward to more buying guides like these!
Enjoyed the video, very helpful thanks
Great video, but noticed you say the GST-B100X comes with sapphire crystal glass, but it should be mineral crystal like all other cheaper GST models. Only the higher end models of the MR-G and MT-G lineup can have the sapphire glass.. I do still wonder if the carbon bezel would be more scratch resistant than the steel bezels, then again the titanium ones would be supreme for that..
Please do more reviews about the stainless steel g Shock watch features.....
indeed it was helpful...
I'm glad to hear that 😊👍
Excellent explanation. Thank you.
Please review the square Casio oceanus
Hi love your posts can you do one on how to set up mtg b30001aer silver please. Thank you.
Thank for the video Geek.
Thank you for watching 😁
Awesome vid very clear and informative
Hello sir, a mother question of watches in the era. Does smartwatch with heart rate & gps worth it? Thanks.
More of these, please!
Great to hear, I will be doing as requested 😊
Thanks for the video! Pls do a review on the GST-S310 when you get a chance. Thanks...
Thank you 😊
El módulo de funcionamiento es el mismo en el MTG B3000fr, que en el MRG?
Gracias, Saludos desde México 🇲🇽😃
Nice video. I didn't see anything about the g shock mtg i own and thats the Mtg 1500 series
Dont by if you have small wrists
Thank you so much!! This is exactly what I wanted to understand.
Could you please explain their Nomenclature. How can I recognized which one is older vs newer model bu numbers, and what else do the letters tell us.
That is complicated when it comes to numbers as they often reffer to the same model but different markets.
As for newer and older these are all pretty new
Do the latest Gravitymaster, GWR-B1000X made in Yamagata factory as well?
Very informative. One request, affordable Swiss-made watches for your next content. Thanks
Where are the GST-210D-1A and GST-210-9A in silver and gold colour.
This is a video about the differences in lines, and the 210 belong to the GST which all share the same construction.
@@WatchGeek I know very well it is in the same product line but the design is totally different than the normal GST and these model are not tough solar as well.
Love it .
Very informative.
Is PRW 60T made of fully metal? And different between it to the PRX 8000t?
Does this include the Metal Twisted - Gravity 910DA "Spyman"??
Thanks for the video ..it really helped.
I love buying guide videos
buying guides... 👍
What do prefer between Casio citizen and seiko???????
Is there a "small" analog G-Shock? I want one with a ~40mm case and less than 50mm lug-to-lug and reasonable styling like the MTG or GST lines. Everything I'm finding is ~50mm and 55mm L2L. Yuge.
Great video and it does helps a lot
Top top vid! Thank you!
Now that there is not gonna be atomic signal, which of the square g shocks do you like best? Which one gives me the most for the money in your opinion. Great video as always.
There is a new square model coming out with the Bluetooth module so I think that one will be the best option for people who are not within the range.
I think it will be using the module from the latest steel squares but in regular case so it should keep the price down
Remains to be seen whether the US will actually drop the atomic signal (as of Feb 2019). The proposal to defund this is sure to be challenged in Congress. Regardless, Bluetooth is a nice backup to have on your watch!
Great video. Please more,
thank you!
I will
Aren't the MTG-900 Module 2639 (products.g-shock.jp/_detail/MTG-900DJ-2/) and MTG-M900 Module 3406 (products.g-shock.jp/_detail/MTG-M900BD-1/) not part of the Metal-Twisted series?
could you do a tutorial on the gst b100 possibly?
If I get a chance to get one, then yes
Thanks for sharing this information
well done ..thanx alot for that alway love the videos..keep it rolling.
Thanks for the kind words 😊
I just got an MTG-500.
Any info about it?
thank sr your best guide
Thanks 😊
Is there a GST with bluetooth, solar & metal band? :o
I'd love that on my wishlist! :D
@NTH THN Yep, for example there is GST-B100D-1A, but there are more colourways.
No, I like the looong buying guide 😁
Very very helpful 👌
"so called school bags" - what kind of g-shock is it? Thanks
What is the difference between
gst-s310 and gst-w310d which watch is better
W is solar AND atomic, meaning it is self adjusting while the S is only self charging
MRG - is coated Titanium or solid Titanium steel ?
Solid titanium
Is gts s100d have Bluetooth?
Do all of them have solar charging?
Almost all, some of the GST models don't have it
@@WatchGeek so all the atomic or gps/Bluetooth connected ones have solar since the radios use a lot of power?
Very interesting.
Good Morning!!! Tough Choice there All Good!!! :-)
I believe all g shock are tough these are just choices for people who have loads of cash to throw in the hobby😋
Pls produce more buying guide! 👍
I will try
but he did not cover up the gst b200 ( the most beautiful and stylish looking g shock in gst series)
Check out the date of the video, it didn't exist when this was made
Ohh sorry I didn't see the date of the video
Useful
You're telling me the GSTs are a 'bargain' compared to the MT-G and MR-G. They're really disappointing in features, especially the one with the rotor on the dial, plus the others with LCD dials look cheap. You can't beat the looks of an analog watch
How to legit them?
