soooo quirky and relatable!!!!1!!11!!1
that's why I get those expanding file folders because i just stuff them in their section
relatable loll
“So you can’t lose an individual folder.”
Me: gets flashbacks to last year when I lost my whole expanding file folder.
This reminds me of when I lost my entire binder. I was so stressed
once I lost my entire **backpack**
Instant flashback to when I lost my uniform yes that really happened and my mum was pissed cuz my uniform is like £70 for just my blazer
oml that's so sad
@@arena4740 How can someone lose a uniform?? Do you carry it anywhere??
I remember having the giant binders in middle school. Besides the binder test, the worst part was when it fell and everything went flying
I'm in eighth grade right now, and I have like 2 or 3 three inch binders that are bursting at the seams. We have to have binders for every individual subject, so I can't really use any of the methods here except for the first one
Hi People wow they force you to do that
sAme especially when you need to find a paper and it’s ALL the way at the back and when u flip it everything just comes out 😭😭
the dazai to your chuuya ikr 😔😢

Karina Kolpaczek brooo actually me 😂 what’s even worse is that I somehow manage to stay a straight A student when I’m super stressed out and don’t know where anything is! Also I somehow managed to qualify to go to college early ?? Hoooowww did I do iiitt? I’m so confused by it lol
@@eileenmarie1652 that flex tho

that was me this year…lmao

Your voice is so calming.

Ага
Masha Winters, her voice kind of tickles me tbh...
a tip for the "giant binder" approach is to have 2. I used to split it up like math/science in one binder, and english/foreign language/history in another. I also use folders as dividers themselves instead of having both. that way your notes and papers are in one place. another thing is to be realistic with taking notes, like which classes will need more notes than others. Lastly, dont overflow your binder with blank paper. I used to keep maybe 20 blank sheets in my binder at a time (in the back, and then i would transfer those pages to their respective section... this helps the hole punches in your notes not tear so soon), and have another stack in my locker or at home. Unless you use something more than once a week, theres really no reason it should be in your backpack everyday. Overall, the key to organization is minimalism, so try to keep "backups" of stuff out of your bag unless it is really necessary. best of luck on the new semester!!
Rachel Santiago thanks for the tips :)
I wish I had only 4 subjects
That's hard when you are taking all the sciences and a difficult math
my school requires a binder for each class :(
@@juno4603 Eek. I feel you. I'm going into middle school and I'm in honors class (yay). So I'll be taking Reading and Math honors (because those are the only ones). Both of those classes require 2, 1½ inch binders, filled with paper. Good luck!
Who else has a giant binder for math but doesn’t understand anything 🤷🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️
lavenderfreda sameeeeeeeeee
meeee
Um me
lavenderfreda I always keep cleaning my binder, and when I compared my piles of papers of each subject I saw that Math was actually the one, that they keep giving me more paper, and I do not understand anything on it 😂
Me and it will be forever...
“Have one GIANT binder”
me:that sounds painful to hold
Anna Z it is
I just have a one inch binder and have my papers in file dividers that have pockets in them
my plan going in to seventh grade is just to have kokuyo smart ring binders for each subject cos they’re pretty slim
Guadalupe Ramirez seventh grade ( probably different if not in uk?) you won’t need that much I promise. Year 7 is learning stage, year 8 is probably where you’re gonna need a little bit more for more math papers flying around ✨
My binder will be a study binder, holding all my notes throughout the year, separated by subject, then by trimester. But I’ll keep my binder at home at all times, to study from often. I will take notes at school (obviously) and then come home and transfer them to my study binder. I will also have a smaller binder for classwork, homework, quizzes, tests...all that stuff I never know where to keep. One thing I recommend is HAVE A PLANNER. there are many kinds with many styles, I can just tell you that they will organize your life. You can write important dates, events, due dates, and list your top priorities for the day as well as make to do lists for each day or even for the week, and these can be used outside of school as well as inside.
I have like an “A, B” schedule, where I have half of my classes one day and half the other and they alternate. I find that using 2 binders works best for me, so I can take a specific binder every other day.
American students -
✨one big binder for everything ✨
a-level students -
multiple big binders for each subject because CONTENT
EXACTLY sometimes two per year 😭
Hmm do you not empty your binders? Not throw the papers out but leave them at home? I’m at school in america and I have my binders fill up pretty quickly, but I empty them out after each semester or quarter
@@reyl4929 Yea into more leaver arches at home one for each paper, but then exam season comes and to study you are carrying far too many
Morgan Rowe rip the British schooling system always makes me feel dumb 😂 You guys get so much more work
@@reyl4929 I have a question. In America do you guys have multiple choice questions in every single test, I heard it somewhere but I’m not sure

If you just a binder, your teacher gives you no-holes paper
If you have a folder, they they give you hole-punch paper??!

Bolu Ayeni lol so relatable.
I have a folder that both have the thingy to put hole punched in them AND 2 pockets.
Bolu Ayeni lol yes
my english teacher this year f o r c e d us to get a binder and organize it in her specific way and then a bunch of the papers she gave us weren't even hole punched
Maria Rybakov that’s evil manifested into chaos
How to make sure you don’t put it in the pocket of the binder
Cut off the pocket 😂
Teacher: make sure you place these papers on your right side binder pocket
Me: BUT MISS, I DONT HAVE A BINDER POCKET!!!
xXMoon_ ShadeXx at my school we don’t tell us where to put it anymore they just want you to have it 😂
Or rip them because you put to many papers in them 😂
im starting university in a month, and im so scared, but your videos help me to keep calm and be more prepared, thank you 🤗
Darién Amaral good luck with uni !!
wish you the best!
Good luck :D
I'm not close to uni at all so I can't tell you what to expect sadly
All the best :)
i'm a freshman and can assure you that you will have fun if you chose the right thing. it will be hard, of course, but if you have a motivation to keep studying it will do. let's do our best!
Good luck:)
What worked super well for me was having a folder for every class for handouts and worksheets and then a binder divided by class for notes. I had a stack of hole punched paper in the front of the binder and when I finished taking the notes for a class I would simply move those into that specific section of the binder :) I also put the date and topic at the top of every note page to make them easier to find. My friends loved the idea and it worked well for them too
So in Germany we only have two holes in our papers so I can carry a hole puncher with me everywhere. I use a binder (like the ones you have for one subject) and I use little plastic strips with little metal thingys attached like a binder so I can store paper on them. I have one strip for every subject and I put the strips with the subject in the binder because I have different subjects everyday. (Sorry for my English lol)
You're English is great
You sound like a native English speaker!
cool! and I agree with the previous comments, your English is great :)
The foreigners who speak English the best are always the ones apologizing for their English. I'm sitting here in Germany and looking at my papers with four holes in them though? But they have a lot fewer holes than the US ones. I never realized that they have sooo many holes.
In India, we generally have papers with 2 holes as well! I haven't come across any other types :)
I’m starting highschool this year, and based on this video i’ve kind of mapped out what i want to do? this probably will change throughout the year as i get more used to highschool and what feels right for me.
so i think i’m going to get a four pocketed folder for each subject. have the pockets be handouts, worksheets, penciled notes and loose leaf paper. i then will also have a thin-ish binder for that subject where i will redo the penciled notes into something more nearer and clear. i’d do the penciled notes in class so that i’m actually paying attention and not trying to make everything pretty and cute. when the unit’s over, i’ll simply throw the paper out. idk if other highschools do this cause i’m big dumb but my high school has certain classes on an “A” day and other classes on a “B” day. i’ll carry around both the folders and binders for those classes, the binders because i usually go to the library or a friends house or to play rehearsal, and i can do the neater notes there, or, you know, at home. i also plan on having notebooks come into play, but i’m not sure yet.
i still don’t know if this will be my final way to do it but i guess this is what “fits my personality” the best or however you’d want to explain it.
my school has odd and even days too but the only thing that changes between them is if you have gym or science lab
I would be curious to see how this held up even now, three years later (/gen)
@@thesk8rwhosaidseeyal8r27 yea no like a week into my freshman I ditched the idea it was a lot of work 💀
I always get lazy to get my paper in and out so I just put it in the backpack between my folders 😂😂😂
Kelly Hoang lol that’s me when the teacher says “I excuse you not the bell” and I’m about the be late to my next class
Totally can relate
i literally did this after the first month of 8th grade
Yes! This video inspired my filing system two years ago. I am now a year 12 student in Australia and my system is like this:
1. Notebook: I use a single notebook for all my subjects. Basically it’s home-made from loose-leaf paper refills divided by those tab divider things you put in binders for each subject. For a cover, I’ve taken the front and back plastic covers off one of those display folders with the plastic sleeves. I hold it together with loose-leaf binder rings. I use metal ones but I prefer the plastic ones from Shein or Wish because they don’t hurt to lean on and they open and close more easily (I accidentally bought the smaller size though, so it could barely hold and papers, which is why I’m using the bigger metal ones). With this system, I can easily take out notes once we finish that topic and refill more when needed. It also saves paper because every piece of paper will be used rather than having a half-full exercise book at the end of the year. Plus, having only one book makes it easier to keep track of (not to mention, it reduces the weight of my school bag).
2. Sheets: I store my sheets, assessment notifications and hand-outs in the Morning Glory 8 Index Simple Document File. I like it because it’s slim, has the right amount of pockets for my subjects and it’s easy to open and close. I typically keep the ones I access most often in there, or the ones relevant to the topic at the time.
3. Binders: Like studyquill, I have a binder for each of my subjects. In year 12, this is essential, though in younger years, I managed fine with 1 binder for all of them, separated by tabs. Anyway, I separate my binders with tabs for each of the modules, and one for mixed-module questions/final exam practice. Once we finish a topic in class, I move my notes out of my book and document file and into my binders, which I store at home and use only before studying for a test/looking at resources for an assessment.
4. Online: For online files, I use iCloud. This means I can have a separate folder for each subject on my desktop and easily drag and drop files into them. I can also access the same files on other devices with the same appleID. I have folders within these folders for modules and final exams as well (in younger years that don’t have modules, you can divide by term, semester, general topics or other as you see fit). At the end of the year, I save these folders onto three different USBs which I keep in three locations and then delete them on my laptop to make space for the new year’s folders (this last bit may not be secure though, so keep track of your USBs! Or else, another system may be better. I still haven’t figured out how to ‘back up’ my computer so that’s why I use the USBs lol).
PHEW. That was a long message! Hopefully someone finds this useful :) I have tried a couple of different systems over the years, but so far I have found this the best
Here's what I plan to do for college:
- One large Class Binder (as I'm doing a single major)
- Subdivided into 3 Module sections, each colour-coded (so I can swap the module titles out each semester)
- Tutorial pockets at the front of each module/at the very front of the binder (I'm not sure yet if I'll have different tutorial classes for each module or only one permanent group for the entire subject, probably the former)
- Labelled pockets within each Module (1 section each for notes on each Topic, then 1 section for Lectures, and 1 section on Group Work if necessary) that I can remove and store in my Study Folder at home, once I'm finished with them during class.
I think this should work for me, and maybe a similar system could be curated for a high school/middle school student too!
What major are you doing?

i love how we are starting to see your face more! you’re beautiful ♥️
When I use folders, I always put the newest assignments at the front of everything else. So it's categorized by day/week for me.
[Edit]: I also save a slot for classwork and homework and another for graded assignments.
Flora Belle ty!
I really love your videos! U spread positivity and love everytime💕
oh my goodness . ive been looking for this video for so long . THANK U
In college I use a mix of 1 & 2. I make large binders of my classes that only meet on certain days (ex: a large binder for my T/Th only classes, a different one for my M/W only classes), and smaller individual binders for my classes that meet more than that (MWF, or MTWTh). If a class would normally be in one of the big binders but I know I'll be going to study groups for it, I put it in it's own binder so I don't have to bring 1-3 extra classes with me to study.
loved these organization methods so much! gonna try them out and hope i can try to continue to do them for as long as possible
Very helpful. Thank you, Jasmine! 😆💕
Studying Potatoe glad to help 💖
I’m so glad that for algebra all I need is my math module and a pencil with an eraser, we might sometimes use scratch paper but it’s very minimal and we reuse old papers that our teacher made to many copies of as scratch paper

I love how you say "hey guys" ❤
THANK YOU!! I needed this haha!!
Love this video!!! I personally use 2 binders and one folder to keep my homework in
I have used the file folder system (one smaller one for each class) for two years now, and I absolutely love it! It can be difficult but you can find vertical file folders so you can see the headings of all your papers - I try to use those. Also, to keep the sections organized, I usually try to put the most recent and most important stuff in the front of the section, going all the way back to the oldest and least important. Hope this helps!
Thank you guys!!
Since I'm in the UK, I only have 3 subjects to worry about at A-Level and yet I still find it far too difficult keeping track of my sheets and notes. These tips are great to avoid the mess of paper my room currently is...

I used to have 4 small binders for each subject. Then I swapped to one binder for the morning and one for the afternoon. This year, I'm using one accordion folder for the morning and one for the afternoon. It's pretty nice since I don't need to hole punch stuff, but it does make it harder to look for handouts. So in subjects where the teacher actually takes up homework, like chem in my case, it makes life a little more difficult. But otherwise, the best things about it is how light it is.
love ur videos

Video uploaded at right time.
I have a binder that has a normal binder part and a file part. It may seem a little bulky, but it works REALLY well. It also has a handle!
What I do is having a binder for each individual subject and writing the date on every single sheet, I started doing this last year and it's really helping a lot. Also I colored my timetable in with the colors of my binder, so every binder has a different color.
Your so pretty and keep up the amazing work!💕💛🔆
Svetlana thanks!
i use folders for space, but one thing i would recommend is having somewhere else to put really old topics and hw so you have something else to reference when you have a test with a ton of crap you don't remember, and you can keep your folders super light💖
