- This software update to Tizen will address these issues of overheating whilst charging the Samsung gear S3 Classic and Gear S3 Frontier. There is a fix on the way for the Gear Sport as well. I was not having charging problems with my Gear S3, but I installed the software update anyway, and I think it has improved the battery life per charge, so I'm happy with the update.
I have a gear s3 but it is overheating on the charger. Can't update on a dead battery. Any fix?

I updated yesterday, thoug hbc I never had any battery issues. BUT, after the last update, I had issues with my Gear Manager app saving my watchfaces. They would sometimes only be view-able as square gray boxes and also the order of the watchfaces would randomly shuffle. This update appears to have corrected (so far) my Gear manager app issues.
Oh, I didn't have those gear app issues.. The battery, for me, would only overheat when it was a hot day, and also was random. Glad Sammy is getting things done!
Jabber Tech Yes, glad it's being taken care of. But, I think they take too long with these things sometimes!

Jackie, I also have seen that problem with the Gear app. It sometimes occurred after installing a new face. The new face would be listed normally, but also in a gray box. I dealt with it by uninstalling the newest face (sometimes it took 2 attempts to get rid of the gray box). Finally, I re-installed the new face, and it would be listed normally in the app. I have no idea whether the latest updates have addressed that issue.
Robert Noblitt You're the first person I have heard of who has experienced what I have. I, too, would uninstall and reinstall. It didn't always work and was getting worse. I updated last night, and as of today its working much better. I hope it holds! Let me know if this update works for you also.
