I'm glad you posted this topic. I have a 2020 1/2 M550i and used the ODBlink MX+ to change the instrument cluster to M Sport (200 MPH!!!), turned off the AutoStart joke, turned on the Video in Motion, and turned off the Active Sound Design. I tried to change the turn indicators from three to five, but it will not code. I turned off everything, let the car sit for an hour, then tried to code it separately. It shows five in BimmerCode, but it still only blinks three times. Has anybody else had this issue? If yes, what was your fix?
OBD to Ethernet to lightning is a much better option for coding BimmerCode and near instantaneous connection vice the 10 min you sped through. Bluetooth is also the slowest option. Even a WiFi module would have been better.
Hi CJ. Can you show a screen shot or video of the coded M5 instrument panel? I have the same car and think it might look cool to change from M550 display to the M5 one. Presumably everything stays calibrated such as speed and rpm? Thanks
Sure thing. I will try to get you one when I get back. I think there is also a shot of all 3 on my Instagram page. instagram.com/p/B_P8HMsFxj1/?igshid=wx4mc8cjuvur
Cool... I need to code my 2020 540i. Hate the auto-start-stop, want it to remember last setting. Also want to try the video in motion from the USB. Was there not also a 3rd dash display choice, perhaps the M dash? Did you check that one out too?
The auto stop/start works great. There are 3 dash choices. Stock(BMW), M dash, and Alpina. I actually tried the M and left that one. The HUD doesn’t switch based on mode anymore tho.
@@CJtheCarNut Auto stop/start works great as in you like it? Or as in Bimmercode works great to shut that annoying thing off? In your vid you show the blue Alpina dash. It would be nice to see what the M dashboard looks like too.
@@steveb540i It works great after coding with BimmerCode. Don't have to touch the button again! Check out the photo on my Instagram page. It shows all 3 dashes you can code - instagram.com/cjthecarnut/ Throw it a follow while your there please! Thanks for the comment and checking out the videos!
I can’t connect for the life of me on my 2022 doing everything the manual says and what you did in your vid do you know if the 2022 5 series has any issues connecting any advice would be super helpful
From what I read it does not. It doesn’t change the ECU, it just allows you to code what is already possible, just not available or shown in the cars options. But I am sure, if they want to find it, they can.
Have you been able to code the G30 to display Text messages from your iPhone ? I’m using the same OBDLInk as you but cannot find that feature to get it to turn on.
The display on the dash just changes to the M5 look. I posted a pic on Instagram of all 3. Check it out and see which one you like - instagram.com/p/B_P8HMsFxj1/?igshid=wx4mc8cjuvur
If you can more videos of different features of the car or how nice the runs and how the exhaust sounds outdoors. I custom ordered my m550 and I’m now just waiting on it so these videos are great to watch in the meantime 😭🤣
It is pretty quick. 0-60 in about 3.7. Florida weather makes it tough. Never ran it wide open, no room around here. But its fast and has all the power when you need it!

Car can be running while coding so you can run the AC, however I would pull it out of the garage then.
This is awesome. Can’t wait to get mine this year.
Another one coming this week on the Active Sound Design!

What is OBD and how do you connect to Ethernet in the car never seen that ?

Is it possible to start the g30 BMW in adaptive mode as default? How can it be coded?
The Bluetooth adapter is cool but the RJ45 cord with iPhone adapter is faster. I have both but the corded adapter is better!
hello with the bimmercode is it possible to increase the power of the low beams and high beams?

BEST VID EVER👏
Nice videos, keep’em coming! Does this do anything to the warranty?

If the service center finds a problem is a result of the coding, they will charge for what might otherwise be a free repair under warranty.
Where did CJ go ? What happened ???
That m550i might have gotten him in trouble.
Does this product support 2021 BMW X5? I want to turn off the auto start stop
Do you need to purchase the full version of the app before you can code?
Hi Did you tried M-Layout??

Haven’t looked for that feature but I’ll see if I can get out there this weekend and find something. Thanks for the comment!
CJ the Car Nut Appreciate it! Got my M550i around the sane time you did. Keep the post coming !!
If you're using CarPlay it should just work.
Very nice video, thanks a lot!!
Does the m display means its m5 or it means that your normal mode display is gonna be same like your old m display when you press the button ?

CJ the Car Nut The tachometer is wrong with the M5 display.
Did you fuel range change after coding?
More videos please!!!
Daniel - are you interested in seeing anything specific? Thanks for watching

Would this work on the 2018 model?
Yes
What’s the top speed on your m550?
