Joel, The narcissist I had to cut ties with always made me feel lonely. I always felt like I was by myself even if I was with him or next to him. And I realize now that’s because he was empty and lacking so yea essentially I was alone. He never respected me enough and didn’t make me feel valued- not romantically but as a person of worth.
These people are lost man and they will drain you dry. Best thing you can do is get far away from them and ask God to help you seek good people

You can't know people until you are with them. Everyone's lives are different. I've worked with special needs, kids that probably will end up in prison and drunks at a bar. When you have experienced the worst in people you develop a dark humour sometimes and its not about energy. It's about knowing human nature- the worst of it sometimes. Doesn't make me a dark person it means I get that side of life maybe better than other people.

I would say don't play into any mindgames just leave! People who play with your emotions once will do it again. It's a game to them and you lose by playing that game. Your energy is better spent elsewhere. If you go, in time this wound will be nothing but a fading memory but if you stay it will be one of many. And trust me: the longer that goes on the longer you will hurt.
If you're in doubt though, and this is the first time it's happened, ask why the person said that and if the answer don't make sense: don't answer back, just leave.
There are good people out there who needs you. You learn to discern so that you can make room for them.

They will continue to hate and disrespect you for no reason because they can't handle how you got good. They will say you were lucky or had it easier. Terry, I had the most loyal and loving dog before I let the narc into my life. People would say that dog always had one eye on me and was always by my side. The narc was jealous of the loving bond we shared. When the narc went into her rages the dog would go hide in the bedroom. Eventually the narc tried to control the dog and break our bond. Less than a year after the narc came, the dog died. I was heartbroken but the narc showed no compassion or empathy, only saying I spent too much money trying to save my dog. I suspect something but have no evidence. Four years later, I still shed tears for that dog. When the narc is finally out of my life and I am in a good place I'm going to get two dogs. Never let a narc near your pet's they will destroy everything you love. #chosenone #nojab4me #redpilledAF

I was hanging out with a group for a couple years but almost every single time, they'de drop a bomb with a back-handed or subtle jab at my character. I finally had enough. I love dogs too. I have two and volunteer at a no kill sancuary walking them.
We have no control of other people's thoughts and feelings and life..but we have control over our own lives. so it's true if they don't respect you and your property you have to cut the rope and hand them over to their creator..because if you don't they will always invade into your dimension and space with out your permission..forgive them smile buy them a little present and walk away...

I don’t know about that dog thing. I had one last that was depressed, didn’t know what was what. Took good care of him, but kept trying to get free, unlocked our door and exposed us to be victimized.
Last thing I'll say is that I don't fat shame. I point out that overweight people who believe that life is that much harder for them aren't always right. Pretty people can get hurt as much and suffer as much or more as an overweight person. Comparison is never wise but there are plenty of people who have no problem assuming a pretty girl has it made or is lacking quality and depth.
