Honestly, I think this truck should've received a unique Switchable All-Gear or Active diff which could be selected manually, but wasn't locked to Low Range only. None of the articulated trucks come with Always On Diffs because engaging them seriously harms their turning radius (the Forester's turn radius practically doubles), but to have such a giant truck and see it spinning it's wheels helplessly, it deserves better.
Oh the joy and frustration you can have with this truck. It flat out refuses to get stuck but will tip over all the time. I thought a stability rating of 2 was being generous here ^^
Oh ya i know that frustration. Ya the stability was given a bump due to having it sideways a few times and it didnt just give to fall over especially when I had the Transtar on the back.
One thing I love about the Antarctic and the Cat 745 is going through areas with big loose rocks. If you start over them, then work the articulation back and forth it shoves the rocks around the tires and out of their path. Thanks for this video.
In one of your video, you talk about a really important notion : confidence. During my first play hours, I was checking power, add-ons, and cool looking style about the trucks I wanted to use. But you made me realize that one thing is really important. How confident are you in a truck you choose to use for a specific mission. Unfortunetaly for this one, I have no confidence at all in its abilities. And I don't think this time you will change my mind 😆 (you already did it for many trucks thought ;) )
How about "it's free". There's a mission in the Don region where you can get this truck. Agreed it's a "Mr Tippy", the steering is weak, & it's a challenge to master. But what a great feeling you get when you accomplish a tough goal with this truck.
It actually isn’t free. That mission doesn’t unlock this or give it as a reward. It can be a challenge as you have said, but it is amazing to get somewhere and keep the mission on track with this beast.
Great truck for the Kola map! It just plows through the deep snow like it's not there and is also strong enough to pull itself out of broken ice. It's a bit nerve wrecking to drive as it often looks like its gonna tip over at any time. I've yet to tip it, but it's been a couple of close shots so far...
It crushes deep conditions, that is for sure! Glad you haven't tipped it over. The articulated steering can aid in that if you can get its ends pointed in the right directions to counter balance
As always the review is right on the money! As far as the truck, I could not agree more. On all the Russian snowy maps this Azov, Don’t leave home without it! I have four of them spread out on various maps, even though it can be a pain to drive sometimes, still escort/rescue/repair&refuel truck, you can’t go wrong. (Extremely useful in the Yukon region). Awesome Vid!!! 🤘😬🤘
Hey thank you! Ya i think you got the order of operations down pat. It makes things bearable for sure. The Azov can get you outta some situations and get you into some. lol
My 'dream Azov' would be the 73210 with the tyres of the 42-20, haha! As always, love your reviews, Nathan. Since you always start with the Cons, I'm often like "Yeah no, I think I'll pass on this truck", but then you start talking about the Pros, and I'm like "Wait, maybe I should give this truck a go"! 😀 Cheers! //Rick
I always seem to end up with a tree stuck in the steering hinge, that's what I find the most frustrating about this truck. Especially when you just randomly shoots off the track because I'm hoofing it about too fast! :D
I bought this guy and almost sold it after using it a bit. I figured it would be a great contender to the Big Cat plus more because of its ability to haul cargo. Yet, as soon as you put this guy under load and get into slightly more than dirt, you almost need to drop to low and turn on diff lock. Makes the ride super slow. While it can handle the deepest mud it seemed to immediately require the diff lock as soon as you put a load on it. The second reason was, it LOVES to take naps. As soon as the terrain gets slightly uneven and that articulation turns with the bump, it seems to get real tired and lays down. If there was ever a case for a heavy truck needing an autonomous winch, this would be the guy. However, I kept it, despite it being, as you say, very situational. It was crucial in Amur to escort trucks through that heavy snow area on the first map. Anybody that knows that map will understand what I'm talking about. Though I used the Big Cat more for that role because it can also act as a refuel, there's times where it was being used and I needed a truck that could fill that role. This guy happily stepped up to the plate.
this thing is what made wisconsin's mud pits bearable. I would station this and the cat around to act as tractors to pull the highway trucks through swamps
In Lake Kovd this eats fuel like crazy. It gone through 1217 litres just in one mission. I had to keep the tanker after it, the route was Garage in Kovd, lumber mill to take long logs to deliver at Warehouse in Imandra, and the road to there. It is a nightmare for Hardmode fans.
One upside 'outside of the meta' is that it's a phenomenal basis for a mod. The Azov Iceberg mod is legitimately one of the most capable trucks available, and works on console, too. It, aside from maybe the Kolob 74941 is the sort of truck I'd want in my fleet for the harshest of terrain. Great truck and video though. Its a pity the lack of add-ons and weak articulation keeps this out of most lineups.
Ya the platform itself is one of the best for mods. I've seen the Iceberg mod in action and its impressive. Honestly though, I dont play mods. Last time I did it corrupted a 98% playthrough and I lost everything. Maybe I'll play mods in the future, if so I'll try this one out for sure! Thank you for those kind words as well! Im glad you enjoyed the video :)
Agree with everything. It is not stable if you drive in 3 person. But if i focus in first person and trust arctic wheel turn it go exactly there even if terain is bumpy. Love this truck but trust him in first person and think where your tires are and you will stay safe😃
Great review as always, i really like your truck reviews, you touch all The aspects of truck... My humble opinion is this truck is good for deep mud, water, but for rocks no, IT tips too easy being tall, Few adons, i try to drive but his articulated steering... În high speed no chance... I played a lot with iceberg mod for his adons and why not.. For his combi steering, articulated + normal steering +back steering, for narrow places was perfect Any way, is a good truck, but expensive and until i rank up to unlock him, i drive many hours others, so i forget him, and.. Let's be honest, there are others good trucks I would like a review for dlc trucks, since we have to pay extra for them, i was very interested for tatra force, many good adons +powerful crane +good Fuel consumption, but since i found azov 5319 special mod, i feel like i drive a vanila truck with all my adons 😉😎
Hated this truck. Thought it was useless and to tippy............... until i got yo amur, where it absolutely saved the day. Single handedly got me throught the first amur map
I want to add one pro and one con: Con: It's stupidly has always on AWD, wich makes it very fuel hungry. It would be very better if it had RWD mode too Pro: it's almost impossible to Puncture a wheel or brake the suspension system in this truck, thanks to it's huge tires and soft suspensions
Good additions there. The fuel actually isnt too bad, but I didnt feel it was good either. Oh and yes it is very hard to damage wheels. I believe their values are 100 damage tolerance on each wheel. Really good additions!
its probably been done already (maybe even by you too, i havent viewed the whole channel), but can you cover the most difficult terrain in the game? maybe as a tier list lol
I like that truck alot. I will for sure. I have some in the que right now, but I will add this one to the list. It might not be right away, but it will be reviewed :)
Every time I've used this truck I think ok we're getting somewhere we're ok we're, nope gone again. The thing is least in my humble opinion, I'd rather have this be an 8x8 like say the Kolab but articulated with smaller say 55" or 60" tyre's that can have chains along with you'd assume a heavier frame and a lighter cabin as I'd assume irl is the case, you definitely wouldn't design a vehicle to tackle just about anything and make its center of gravity be that high, you're just asking to be winched back upright repeatedly by doing that.
This truck has really weird articulated steering. Usually with this type of steering front and back halve can twist against each other to some degree. This allows better ground contact for all the wheels, but this truck and its IRL counterpart do not seem to have this capability, wich probably makes them so tippy. It seem exclusively designed for flat but deep mud or snow areas, where the articulated steering (with or without pendulum capability) is a huge advantage, because the rear wheels run exactly in the track of the front wheels.
I recently started this game, and this is my most favourite truck look-wise after the Mastodon. Oh how disappointed am I to see on how not versatile this truck actually is... For what its worth, I expect this to at least having both saddles
Hey glad you just recently got the game. So tbh the mastodon is a freak that probably shouldnt have all its addons, The low saddle is meant for smaller working class trucks like the offroad and classes below that. I can explain this alot further if youd like. Come check out the stream. I can explain a lil better! Glad you picked up the game
Ya it actually is on the list of trucks I will be doing. I cant give you a timeline because work has been crazy, and there are other trucks in the que, but I definietly promise I will review that in the future.
I don't like this truck that much but it does have the best articulated steering. Hopefully some day Saber fixes the CAT745C and Forester. Problem with CAT and Forester is when you are like me (and I would assume the majority of people of console), you are playing on a default PlayStation/XBOX controller. And the CAT and Forester when on controller has a steering bug where lets say if you want to turn right, the game will first nudge the nose of the vehicle to the left before following your right input. It's the same bug that Freightliner truck used to have except it's way worse on the CAT/Forester. CAT/Forester is basically unusable outside of Low+, maybe at best with a controller you can manage High and maybe not run yourself into a ditch/off a cliff. But Auto? You can just forget about Auto on console when using a controller. The Antarctic doesn't seem to have this bug, or at least it's not there to a noticeable degree. If I was more a fan of the rest of the truck in general, namely if this thing wasn't as tippy as it is, I's use it more.
Oh ya I remeber that bug with the freightliner. Ya it does have a better turning circle than the CAT and the Forester. I did hear about that bug on console which sounds terrible. There are alot of things that need to be addressed. Hopefully they do fix some things man. I agree, Im a fan of the other features of this truck, but not its stability.
With its tall nature, I’m not sure it would be my first pick for logging, but also, Alaska isn’t too much up and down. I definitely would be careful with balance still. I’m sure you’ll do very well with it
It was really sad and disappointing to me when I first started playing this game and basically rushed to buy this truck, hoping it'd be absolutely incredible. It wasn't. I wish Saber would take a look at improving its performance and ability. For how much it costs, and for how long we have to wait to unlock it, it should be better.
It’s very very strong, in situations. I actually like this about some heavy trucks. For the balance thing. Maybe it’s a lil too tippy I agree. I think if they just made it stronger; it would essentially be so good that it would negate using other vehicles. I hope I made some sense. Sorry about that rant
I rather get the azov iceberg mod as this has no tyre selection, and needs repair addons, and it tips alot. I bought this to get the achievement, and sold it after.

Ya I agree. It would be nice to have that feature. I don't think it would harm the meta in the game giving it a unique option like that.
Oh the joy and frustration you can have with this truck. It flat out refuses to get stuck but will tip over all the time. I thought a stability rating of 2 was being generous here ^^

Yes! That works really well. I’ve done that plenty of times lol
I love how it’s a straight up an achievement just to own it
I noticed that when I first started and wondered how amazing must this be? Well it is under certain small circumstances

That would be wild right?! Thank you for this comment Rick!
I always seem to end up with a tree stuck in the steering hinge, that's what I find the most frustrating about this truck. Especially when you just randomly shoots off the track because I'm hoofing it about too fast! :D
Ya I’ve definitely wrapped myself around a tree a few times. That can be pretty annoying lol
this truck carried me to eventually unlock the zikz605r in Amur, and then it retired right after. the truck does what it is made for quite well.
Thats awesome! Thats a really good way to describe it :)
Good tip. I was dying to get that truck with azov 64131 🤦♂️
Great video as always keep up the great work
Thank you sir! I'll try :)

If the truck is not moving and you saw it refuses to turn, engage the handbrake, rapidly press the gas button (or pedal) and try to turn.
Ya thats what I noticed that under power it will turn. Good point!
this thing is what made wisconsin's mud pits bearable. I would station this and the cat around to act as tractors to pull the highway trucks through swamps
Thats exactly what I purpose this for on most of the super mud/snow areas to ferry vehicles. You're right it does make it bearable.

It does drink alot of fuel especially through places like you were travelling.
This truck really good for long log, it help with stability when the log pack
Ya the long log trailer acts almost as a semi trailer which you can create angles to aid in vehicle balance at times
I only used this truck once in my entire playthrough, just for long logging in urska 😆
Oh gosh logging in Amur is no joke
((tips over))
But this truck is a good off roader
So I give it a 7/10
Tips over, but yes sir, it is really nice in deep mud and snow :)

I have done tier list on hardest maps and also have drawn routes that are hard on my route runner series
make a review about the zikz 5368
it can have 47 inch tayga tires and i think that it is beast in michigan hauling long logs
I like that truck alot. I will for sure. I have some in the que right now, but I will add this one to the list. It might not be right away, but it will be reviewed :)
Really interesting... I don't know how I'll use it but I want to 😅😊
I definitely think you can put it to good use, just some things to be aware of
How could you not rate the aesthetics a solid 5? It's like the best looking truck out there 😛
It does look cool, but I definitely am more of a American truck type
It's also great for crossing deep rivers/lakes
It does for sure
Every time I've used this truck I think ok we're getting somewhere we're ok we're, nope gone again.

Right kinda like the CAT 745C can do that to maintain wheel to ground contact right. I think you nailed it man!
7:30 i thought u said, that the kolobs have the largest engine in the game
They share the same engine which is the largest engine in the game. Theres multiple vehicles that share that engine

If I have a choice, I will pick the CAT 745 every time. Just my opinion based on experience and personal preference though.
Thats going to be my pick as well. I love the CAT 745C
The CAT's articulated steering allows for twisting motion as well, keeping the vehicle stable.
@@karabenomar Ya that is true, but I think we can all agree it doesn’t help much with this one. Lol
i love the truck but i never use it because the articulated steering makes my camera start glitching
Ya the steering does swing the camera around for sure. It does feel kinda weird
bro what the hell is gallons
A system of measurement
Imagine having one of these in IRL
That would be sweet!
Make a review about the yar 87
That will be coming in the future, but I have to get through some trucks that have been on the list for quite some time.
It's really a good truck, just need some skills to save it from tipping
I agree :)
Not trolling, but can you consider reviewing the tatra 805?
Ya it actually is on the list of trucks I will be doing. I cant give you a timeline because work has been crazy, and there are other trucks in the que, but I definietly promise I will review that in the future.

it's not on my map for the Don region. and I'm almost done with the map. wtf
It’s not going to be on your map. In this review I explained that you have to buy this vehicle in the store. It’s not found on any map
Currently im grinding for it think it will be great on alaska log missions cuz u all know those missions are aids
With its tall nature, I’m not sure it would be my first pick for logging, but also, Alaska isn’t too much up and down. I definitely would be careful with balance still. I’m sure you’ll do very well with it

Man I had no idea people take this game so serious.
I dunno if I would say serious, but I think it just helps to have good information because a lot of people find this game hard especially with vanilla trucks
Speaking about Azov, I automatically link this name with the nazi-ukrainian army. :D
This is one of the vehicles I just NEVER use. Too many downsites.
There are a ton of things to manage. I dont blame you for not wanting to use it
@@NProvince For me it feels like the Antarctic falls way too easy on it's site because it's so high.

too late in game, too tippy... unfortunately, this truck in not good

Its either a liability or a helping hand. It almost seems like theres no middle ground. Its definitely a tough truck to drive.
