I tested it. Cat got stuck Avoz didn't. Avoz is also the only truck that can go in fast mode in deep mud. Cat can't do that. edited: cat only got stuck beceause it was in high gear. while the avoz didn't. don't get me rong, they are both amazing and each of those trucks has something unique. I like the cat to haul feul, for refeuling my other trucks. but it's only 1700l. for something that big it has to be much more.
@@stefanraemaekers3191 You're right! 1700 liters doesn't sound that much. Actually, CAT 745C has fuel&lube add-on MFL45 which can handle 17000 liters of fuel and 800 spares (liters of lube). Clearly it's missing one zero. Also, CAT745C doesn't have 340 liters fuel tank, because it has 550 liters tank instead.

Looks like the CAT allows the front to twist sep from the rear and the Axov can only pivot. This is why the CAT is more stable in the twisty bits. Can keep its tires on the ground.
In ice environment you want your tires to be as narrow as possible, to have more grip. Studded ofc. And you dont want to use chain all the time. Chains is usually used to fight mud on regular tires. And yes, you can use them on ice to get some grip. You put them on, ride to better road and there you take chains away. If you need more permanent grip on the ice - you just use winter studded tires.

I prefer the 745C because i repair those machines, they are hella big and powerful. Tho i have to say, there suspension damage should not exist on this vehicle as the only thong between the axels and the frame is a small rubber puck, if thats considered suspension well...

Other example would be inside a hydraulic gear pump where the shafts ends are installed, they wear the bushings instead of the hole. Or sometimes i use it to describe it as the spacer between the center bushing and the outside rubber and its that case for the isolator

745C is bad ass, I had a superheavy trailer loaded with 8 units of bricks behind my Western Star 49X that got high centered over a hill. I took out the Cat and hooked up with a winch and it pulled that whole thing off the hill and through a couple mud pits like it wasn't even there!
I mainly use the CAT as mobile heavy terrain fuel station. The Antarctic is a more versatile due to trailers, but there are some maps where it gets sleepy a little bit too often.

Putting it in neutral doesn't give you the max fuel consumption if you want that you should winch it to a tree or put the handbrake on and throw it in low gear

The cat is hands down the best heavy recovery vehicle. I towed an Azov 64131 flipped on its side with a seismic resonator about 100m through a swamp to get to one of the seismic points.
CAT can't attach a trailer due to licensing, (they don't in real life). But you have the winch. So attach that, and trust me, you can drag anything anywhere. Even sideways or upside down. CAT does not care. 😁😆

I think tatarin is the best for rescue. Its litteraly unstopable unless on water. Yeah i can agree that antartic is best for delivery but it sadly flips over easily
Azov64131 has the best stability and handling (in all terrains) of the game but its slow. Tayga has decent stability and handling but its very fast. I suppose that with exeption of the max speed tests, Azov64131 will win easy.
Nice video mate, but you've made a small mistake in the equation of the Azov fuel consumption. 340/4.4 is not 36 minutes. I think you've meant 340/9.4?
At 1:27 minute, it says "Can Last: 340/4.4". I believe it should be 9.4 instead of 4.4? (It's a very minor error, but as an engineering student, math errors stick out to me like birdpoop on the windshield). I like your videos though, keep it up!
There’s a CAT dealer down the street from where I live irl and they have many of those type of CAT trucks out front on display and they all have the giant fuel tank on that you can get in this game
just to say, the cat 745 irl is mainly designed as a off highway dump truck, its designed to go off road and in rough areas so i can see why it mostly beat the azov but then again, depends on the driver and such
btw to get "Max" fuel comsumption activate handbrake then go full throttle. Just going Neutral ist not the max fuel the truck will consume when pulling heavy stuff through rough terrain
Yeah realized that as well. Saw another video and few hours later I realized that the white star had a higher fuel consumption if driving under full load than in standing with full throttle
The only thing I have a conflict with is fuel consumption because this assumes that the vehicle is stationary and not moving without a load. When the vehicle is moving and/or has a load or trailer the fuel consumption increases drastically. You pull upwards of 25L/min while loading the vehicle.
!!!! with update 6.0 (july 15th) the cat no longer has the option of carrying regular cargo with the container add-on, only cargo containers and 'special cargo' (this is also mentioned in the customization menu for this add-on) !!!
I'm biased to the azov as I used it more. Took it and a trailer loaded through that one rock path to open imads garage. Proudest moment of the game to get front tires in the zone and run out of fuel.
Azov is not "a bit" more useful. It's a lot more useful. The CAT cannot pull any trailers, at all. And doesn't have a snorkel. Meaning it's very limited in what jobs it can do.
To be fair the thing is pretty tall. Areas that deep aren't common. Cat I think is more useful as a support truck with the fuel tank where the Azov is better for cargo. I use Azov for large loads using the ramped flatbed with 4 slots plus the 2 on its own flatbed. Very nice if you gotta go through rough areas.
nfsfanAndrew Honestly, the CAT is the best tow/recovery vehicle so far. If you have a stuck vehicle, the CAT is the beast to get the job done. With the wider frame, and easier steering adjustment, the CAT is much more stable and easier to control. Sure it doesn’t have any trailer options, but sometimes a truck/trailer isn’t the best way to go at it
@@justat1149 I think I need to give it another go in Russia. I got the CAT in Alaska where it kindof struggled for me in the icy roads, and I found the Pacific P16 to be much more dependable for recovery. I think ice and snow just isn't the CAT's favourite place to be

Azov is definitely more versatile but when the CAT is used in very select circumstances it’s the best one for the job. It’s niche but does what little it does well, very well. I’ve started the game too recently to have used it yet but that’s just my perspective from what I’ve seen.
Depends on what the task is. Rescue pulling? Cat as it's much more stable than the Tipmaster 9000. Fuel tanker? Well, the Cat again. Cargo hauling? Antarctic because it actually can. Basically they both perform different roles but if there is any overlapping roles then those usually go to the Cat.
I'm curious to see if people mod in vehicles from the previous games into this by the time it comes on Steam. Frankly, I don't think the E-7310 would be much of a challenge against these two.
I mod in the k700 as a direct Russian equivalent to the cat745c as a tractor for pulling and recovery. And as a log loading vehicle for the nastiest of logging sites.
I read so many good things about the 745C & how it can be used to rescue the worst situations. Well, I watched too many RUclips videos & got my white western star in a ditch surrounded by steep slopes. I took my 745c out there confidently & got both of them stuck. From there, I learnt 2 things. 1. The 745c is not as invincible or as powerful as many have claimed. It still cannot climb very steep slopes. Nothing can. 2. Learning the terrain is more important than the size of the tires.

For single slot large loads like pipes and concrete, the cat is king. But for anything more than single load contracts its useless. Maybe as a rescue truck. Also, this azov will wheelie thru the water and get to the islands in alaska. I'm sure she'll get to 1s on other maps also but i haven't tried.. Great vids.. I only use heavy trucks for rescue missions, I don’t see them as cargo carriers, unless the mission asks to rescue cargo from deep mud/water then you need a heavy with a crane like P12 which I love because it gave me a peace of mind in the beginning of the progression. But for cargo carrying I find BM17 or Taiga sufficient.
Well.. The reason for the Cat to be more stable and easy going than the Azov, is that it's Primarily used (Atleast in real life) For Construction work and Forestry work, Thus having to Drive over tricky and in some cases unstable Terrain is what it were meant to do.. Whilst the Azov being of Russian Design, would be more likely to drive through Tundras of Snow and swamp areas as a Transport/rescue vehicle, in Snow and swampy terrain, you need the bit snappier steering as to not get stuck, whilst again the Cat needs Stability and Gentle steering as to not fall off of Unstable and high Terrain. For SnowRunner I'd pick the Azov due to utility options, But if I could kit the cat the same way, It'd be my go-to vehicle.
Sibling rivalry, the Pacific P12 vs the Pacific P16. You'd be amazed how well the P16 does in mud with no AWD, thanks to the heavy back end and the ridiculously wide wheelbase.
I've noticed the Cat fails to articulate while stuck sometimes where other normal rack and pinion can turn tires while stopped and stuck making it harder for the Cat at times, also lack of frame attachments hurt, IRL nothing stops these from articulating
Be nice if the cat could carry a flatbed or had a saddle for trailers. Even a pintle hitch for the dolly trailers. Irl they're haul trucks for rock and dirt, but there wouldn't be much use for a dump bed in snowrunner
Both are winners. Pay star is epic especially in beginning. You can literally complete the whole game with it. Royal is a bit more powerful and it does the job as well

But the CAT is so wide that i'ts kind of hard to even get it on the tracks where flips are a risk.
Why do you need stability if you cant move anything more than a standard 2x cargo? Just take any offroad truck.

i know that in these games there is always some vehicles specializing on rescue. CAT here seems to fit that bill, while Azov is meant for delivery.

I wish they would lower the center of gravity for the arctic. It can pull trailers but if you load the bed rolling is all but inevitable.

i bought the Azov simply because it has 2 proper flatbeds and it can tow a trailer. Also gets stuck less in mud. I love it

just to say, the cat 745 irl is mainly designed as a off highway dump truck, its designed to go off road and in rough areas so i can see why it mostly beat the azov but then again, depends on the driver and such
btw to get "Max" fuel comsumption activate handbrake then go full throttle. Just going Neutral ist not the max fuel the truck will consume when pulling heavy stuff through rough terrain
Yeah realized that as well. Saw another video and few hours later I realized that the white star had a higher fuel consumption if driving under full load than in standing with full throttle

The only thing I have a conflict with is fuel consumption because this assumes that the vehicle is stationary and not moving without a load. When the vehicle is moving and/or has a load or trailer the fuel consumption increases drastically. You pull upwards of 25L/min while loading the vehicle.

!!!! with update 6.0 (july 15th) the cat no longer has the option of carrying regular cargo with the container add-on, only cargo containers and 'special cargo' (this is also mentioned in the customization menu for this add-on) !!!

IRL the cat is designed to roll the rear section 180°side to side separately from the cab.
I'm biased to the azov as I used it more. Took it and a trailer loaded through that one rock path to open imads garage. Proudest moment of the game to get front tires in the zone and run out of fuel.
Azov is not "a bit" more useful. It's a lot more useful. The CAT cannot pull any trailers, at all. And doesn't have a snorkel. Meaning it's very limited in what jobs it can do.

To be fair the thing is pretty tall. Areas that deep aren't common. Cat I think is more useful as a support truck with the fuel tank where the Azov is better for cargo. I use Azov for large loads using the ramped flatbed with 4 slots plus the 2 on its own flatbed. Very nice if you gotta go through rough areas.

Honestly, the CAT is the best tow/recovery vehicle so far. If you have a stuck vehicle, the CAT is the beast to get the job done. With the wider frame, and easier steering adjustment, the CAT is much more stable and easier to control. Sure it doesn’t have any trailer options, but sometimes a truck/trailer isn’t the best way to go at it
@@justat1149 I think I need to give it another go in Russia. I got the CAT in Alaska where it kindof struggled for me in the icy roads, and I found the Pacific P16 to be much more dependable for recovery. I think ice and snow just isn't the CAT's favourite place to be

The caterpillar is MUCH more stable and a fuel tank add on making it suitable for long distance driving in middle of nowhere

Yeah I'm not too sure about that. Sure it can tow a trailer, but what's the point if you can't get to your destination upright. I'd personally just do several trips in the CAT, since i know i won't have to hit that recover button too often
Azov is definitely more versatile but when the CAT is used in very select circumstances it’s the best one for the job. It’s niche but does what little it does well, very well. I’ve started the game too recently to have used it yet but that’s just my perspective from what I’ve seen.
Depends on what the task is. Rescue pulling? Cat as it's much more stable than the Tipmaster 9000. Fuel tanker? Well, the Cat again. Cargo hauling? Antarctic because it actually can.
Basically they both perform different roles but if there is any overlapping roles then those usually go to the Cat.

I'm curious to see if people mod in vehicles from the previous games into this by the time it comes on Steam. Frankly, I don't think the E-7310 would be much of a challenge against these two.
I mod in the k700 as a direct Russian equivalent to the cat745c as a tractor for pulling and recovery. And as a log loading vehicle for the nastiest of logging sites.

I read so many good things about the 745C & how it can be used to rescue the worst situations.
Well, I watched too many RUclips videos & got my white western star in a ditch surrounded by steep slopes. I took my 745c out there confidently & got both of them stuck.
From there, I learnt 2 things. 1. The 745c is not as invincible or as powerful as many have claimed. It still cannot climb very steep slopes. Nothing can.
2. Learning the terrain is more important than the size of the tires.
Is that a typo in the fuel consumption, on Cat you used average number, on Azov the idle value is used, I asume the average value was calculated ?

The tread pattern on those are R4 industrial tires which are far from mud tires
game says it's mudtires, pattern doesn't matter, it's the stats mudtires are described as "excellent" in mud
For single slot large loads like pipes and concrete, the cat is king. But for anything more than single load contracts its useless. Maybe as a rescue truck. Also, this azov will wheelie thru the water and get to the islands in alaska. I'm sure she'll get to 1s on other maps also but i haven't tried.. Great vids.. I only use heavy trucks for rescue missions, I don’t see them as cargo carriers, unless the mission asks to rescue cargo from deep mud/water then you need a heavy with a crane like P12 which I love because it gave me a peace of mind in the beginning of the progression. But for cargo carrying I find BM17 or Taiga sufficient.

Well.. The reason for the Cat to be more stable and easy going than the Azov, is that it's Primarily used (Atleast in real life) For Construction work and Forestry work, Thus having to Drive over tricky and in some cases unstable Terrain is what it were meant to do.. Whilst the Azov being of Russian Design, would be more likely to drive through Tundras of Snow and swamp areas as a Transport/rescue vehicle, in Snow and swampy terrain, you need the bit snappier steering as to not get stuck, whilst again the Cat needs Stability and Gentle steering as to not fall off of Unstable and high Terrain. For SnowRunner I'd pick the Azov due to utility options, But if I could kit the cat the same way, It'd be my go-to vehicle.

Sibling rivalry, the Pacific P12 vs the Pacific P16. You'd be amazed how well the P16 does in mud with no AWD, thanks to the heavy back end and the ridiculously wide wheelbase.

I've noticed the Cat fails to articulate while stuck sometimes where other normal rack and pinion can turn tires while stopped and stuck making it harder for the Cat at times, also lack of frame attachments hurt, IRL nothing stops these from articulating

Be nice if the cat could carry a flatbed or had a saddle for trailers. Even a pintle hitch for the dolly trailers. Irl they're haul trucks for rock and dirt, but there wouldn't be much use for a dump bed in snowrunner

Royal bm 17 vs international pay star?
Both are winners. Pay star is epic especially in beginning. You can literally complete the whole game with it. Royal is a bit more powerful and it does the job as well

In the real world, Kamaz is an Arctic all-terrain vehicle with a cabin for passengers, and the CAT is just a truck.
