Intact nature is the foundation of travel and "Buen Vivir," a good life. Indigenous communities live in harmony with nature, and their wisdom can guide us to do the same. Their philosophy gives nature a voice and condemns its exploitation.
For centuries, this knowledge was ignored, but in the face of the climate crisis, it is gaining attention. At V Social and Ventura TRAVEL, we have always prioritized our connection with local communities. We believe in local knowledge, rootedness, and the power of community.
Together with a Kichwa community in Ecuador, we have a mission: to protect 100 hectares of rainforest, vital to the community and part of a crucial ecosystem. These 100 hectares are currently privately owned and for sale. Nearby illegal resource extraction threatens the forest's preservation and biodiversity.
What do we need to succeed? Capital for the purchase, scientific guidance, forest rangers, and innovative ideas to develop a sustainable foundation for the forest's long-term preservation.
Our dream of protecting 100 hectares of rainforest has grown, and we are seeking allies to join us. 🌍✨
If we can prove that the power of tourism can make this project possible, we envision this as the first of many LocalRoots projects.
Join us, and be part of the transformation of travel. For tourism that strengthens the planet's biodiversity in the long term!
