U did a fantastic job raising them brother!!!
Thank you, Phil!
Wow love the cats . You have a stoked set up. Keep up the good work
Always enjoyed your videos and educational background on the species if fish.
Thank you so much for your support.
Great video 1st of its kind. Knife fish are their favorite. The chitalas are living with them
Awesome tanks as usual if i wanna get inspired on monster fish this is my go to channel
Thank you for such a kind and humbling compliment.
Great video. These are my ultimate bucket list fish. They seem very hard to find.
They are seasonal.
That's such a great tank. Love the Fire eel you have in there. he's such a character. BTW... Zion Gonzalez is in love with you. lol
Thank you. No fire eels, one TT and three BS. Who is Zion Gonzales? Am I supposed to know?
Oh , I see. This is bull dung from a dirty YT channel peddling their virtual footprint. Illegal abominable predators.
Wonderful tank and amazing collection of Tigs. 28 inches is huge. I presume soon you'll be in the running to hold the record of world's largest Tig. If I may add, my own small tank of 60x22 inch footprint tank did nothing much to stop my solo Tig from growing. Now I'm in the market for a new tank. Just undecided yet if it should be a solo fish tank or community tank which will decide the height (& of course, costs!!) of the tank. Keep up the good work. Amazing catfish and wonderful tanks!
Thank you. Are you my tig and mahseer MFK-buddy Cy from Malaysia?
You're most welcome, Viktor. Yes, CY here, buddy. Sorry didn't introduce myself earlier. Been really tied up with work. But there's always time for my Tig. I think I'll go much bigger for the next upgrade. Am looking interestingly at your community tank mates, especially the clown featherbacks. Always have a soft spot for them. No Piraiba, got it. These South American cats are really expensive in my part of the world anyway. Cheers and catch up again, my dear friend.
Piraiba (true) are expensive here too, $250 is the usual.
$250? Wow, so near yet so expensive. In Malaysia, we hardly get to choose what sizes or grades (I noticed sometimes there are those with their beautiful long filaments still in prime condition, and other times short stumpy ones probably lost through a bite or other reasons). But I would now imagine your aquaria to have a lot of gems for viewing. Wonderful 👏
If you keep them alone, the barbels will grow back. The luxury I cannot afford.
The envy is killing me ! Thanks for the videos. Any chance of an update on the wels and the sturgeon?
Thank you. Noted.
Te felicito amigo por la gran variedad de peces y por como los tenés es espectacular poder apreciar tan lindo tanque felicitaciones saludos de Argentina
Thank you much.
Translation: I congratulate you friend for the great variety of fish and because you have them, it is spectacular to be able to appreciate such a beautiful tank congratulations greetings from Argentina
Hey Victor! How have u been bud?
I changed my name on RUclips a little while ago so not sure u would remember me but for a long time I'd comment on every video simply due to my own fascination with your place and aquariums..
I used to use a profile avatar of a massive GTF mouth, anyway I'm so glad your still doing videos, hope u never give up. I still am amazed you haven't exploded on subs and views yet but I'm sure you will soon.
Anyway that Tigreniss at 2:30 is beautiful!
What's the biggest one you ever had? 👍👍👍
Thank you. I appreciate it. A few of these 8 are the biggest I've ever had at about 28". I've not been in this hobby that long yet, only a dozen of years.
Underrated Channel!!.. Could I keep one tigrinus catfish in a 8x3x2 350gallon with other american cichlids?
Thank you. I assume you are asking for life. It'd be tight. You could try. The smaller and slimmer males you might have better luck with, than with larger and faster growing females. If it outgrows your tank, this fish has a high resale value.
When I had my big tig with a lince cat he would snap at the lince if he swam in his space! They dont appreciate anything in their territory!
It happens but IME it may not be the rule, albeit it could be a thing between tigs and lince. I've never had lince.
@@Fish-Story they are def a really cool cat u should look into getting one Vik esp with having those massive tanks for urs!
@@Fish-Story I did add a pr of irwini cats today bud. 14 and 17 inch fish. Always wanted some and finally have 2!
@@philcavallini9657 Thank you. I've looked plenty into lince over the last 10 years. Never had the money. Or when I had the money, none were available. I want a group of 7-9 anyway.
Fantastic fish..probably not a more wanted Catfish out there in the world. I would be tempted to try the largest one and a slender one in the Cyprinid tank with a big tube for them to ..mate in? They might like the cooler water..you know, stir that seasonal change steroids in them to maybe spawn? Are they candidates for the huge new tank you are building? What is the guest list for that?..ha.
Thank you. Yeah, ideally this could be cool to try. No time or tank space for this as it is. The guest list for the 10K are the biggest brutes, 4' RTCs, 4' piraiba, 3.5' jau, 3' pacu, etc.
@@Fish-Story The Jau will grow another 2'..Shedd has one about that size I saw on youtube. Its almost as long as the pool is tall.
It feels I won't live long enough to see that with mine.
@@Fish-Story Once in the bigger tank..you can get 6" of growth a year..sounds reasonable. In 5-6 years more, you got a huge Jau..they seem to have lots of personality too...no fear of the owner.
@@StanTheObserver-lo8rx I wanna believe you but its next tank is only 2x bigger, not 10x bigger. Both jaus of ours have been growing maybe only an inch or two a year in the last few years.
Have they figured out how they breed them yet? It be really cool if you could get the right conditions, i think i learned they need similar conditions as a sturgeon.
AFAIK no, they have not been bred in captivity successfully, or successfully enough. I may be wrong. I don't plan to work on trying to breed them. I've never observed any indication of courtship behavior from our tigs. Sturgeon like cool to cold water but both need high dissolved oxygen indeed and a good flow.
@@Fish-Story thanks for the response, i really enjoy your videos and the passion you have for exotic fish. Tigrinus are 1 of my favorite fish and used to read alot of research on them, keep up the great work.
Thank you for your kind and generous words. Just thought I'd clarify that I wasn't speaking of natural tig spawning, forget that, but of the artificial breeding where the parents are injected with hormones to produce eggs and milt and then sacrificed, a horrendous procedure in itself. Correct me if I am wrong, please.
Poderia fazer um video alimentando os trachycorystes
Translation: "I could make a video feeding the trachycorystes".
Reply: do you mean you could? That'd be interesting to see. If you mean if I could, they will not come out to feed in the filming lights.
@@Fish-Story ok obrigado, tem muito pouco vídeo desse peixe no RUclips
Translation: ok thanks, there is very little video of this fish on RUclips
Answer: all my videos are in this thread: www.monsterfishkeepers.com/forums/posts/7670767
how are the tigs brother
We've lost them, to thiaminase and vitamin B1 deficit I believe.
