  • Today's video an overview of the 150 Gallon South American Cichlid tank and planted aquarium, which has now been setup for one year.
    I've really enjoyed this Custom Aquarium setup. The stocking includes one of my favorite cichlids, the Geophagus sveni. I also love the plants and aquascape in this tank, which isn't really feasible in my other cichlid tanks.

    Hey what’s up Cichlid Bros! I started with freshwater then moved into saltwater for its exoticness. I have newfound love for my freshwater setup and have recently moved back into its arena (still have salt tank)! Changed its substrate to black/dark brown Controsoil/Landen mix and reworked the landscape. Absolutely mesmerized with the results! Have grown Electric Blue Acara, Tapajos Geo, T-Bar Sajica, Thorichthys Aureus “Blue Flash”, among other Central and South American cichlids on the way (air mail). These fish are beautifully colored once maturity is reached. Thanks for the inspiration! 😎

    I recently purchased ai prime 16 for my 180 custom aquariums tank. How are mounting yours? I noticed that if you remove the foam from the clamps they kinda fit lol. Is that all you did or are you using a specific arm that fits that aluminum frame?

    Hello cichlid bro. How often do you use gravel vac to pick up detritus from sand? Or do you leave it for plants to absorb for nutrients and only change water?

    • @CichlidBros
      @CichlidBros  Год назад

      I haven’t ever gravel vac’ed in this tank. The Geophagus sift the sand and keep it spotless. Along with good flow and filtration

      @Cichlid Bros cool good to know I kept African cichlids before I had to take my tank down but hopefully get to have fish again someday again but been wanting to do a geophagus tank love the colors and the fins they have . Your tank is really nice. And the fish waste is getting absorbed good by the plants. Is that easy green better then seachem flourish? I was trying to have plants in African tank but they would melt right away besides other damage from fish. Are you running c02 in tank for plants or just the easy green?

  • @harshtruth9148

    Ive noticed on your planted tank it looks like your light is very white and blue.....I was told that blue light promotes algae growth so I own the aquaksky and my settings for great plant growth are green 90% red 90% blue 20% and 5% for an hour moon light, and 20% white curious to your opinion?

    • @CichlidBros
      @CichlidBros  8 месяцев назад

      The AI Primes I have are strong lights so I just have 20% blue and about 40% white for this tank
