I was put on this diet by a Nutritionist as the Dr said my bloodsugar keeps dropping. Then I was told: don't eat any fat, as fat makes you fat. Today at 56, I battle with digestive problems, bloodsugar problems, joint pain, pancreatic and liver problems. Very upsetting when you think you do the "right thing" according to professionals but you sit with the effects thereof.
Do you know why the main stream doctors call their profession "practicing" medicine? They are experimenting with you. It's your body. Check everything they tell you to do. That's why I like listening to this guy, and I also have a holistic doctor who doesn't practice. He knows.
They may be professional doctors, but they aren't professional nutritionists. They don't study nutrition in school much or at all, and they just follow whatever what people have been passed down for many years. I call them conventional medicine-- think "conservative" = not making changes, not open to what's new or true. Mostly following who pays them to say things. Get a professional who is studying what is current, what is evidence-based. Just because they are professionals, you don't trust them for everything.... you don't go to a foot doctor for your heart problems!
Keto and Intermittent fasting has helped me lose 75 lbs in 16 weeks... but I'm feeling better than when I graduated high school 20 years ago. Love the videos! Thank you!!!
I've been working with a local nutritionist. She has me consume 80 grams of protein, 100 grams of fat and 50 net carbs a day. Well... I go 18 hours fasting 5 days a week, 24 hours once a week and then 1 day a week in allowed a feast Day where I'm consuming 100 grams of net carbs. She encourages to change things up on the body... a few days without meat, a few days with only meat, longer fasts and all sorts of things. Pretty much dive into Dr. Bergs Content and then put it to practice. It is the truth and you'll see it more the longer you use it.

So right!...I mistakenly chose to stop IF 2 days ago because I lost the weight I wanted to, well, I had breakfast even though I wasn't hungry, and tried to eat " normally...I found myself thinking of food all day, and snacking hard core...bloated and feel crappy!...back to IF tomorrow!...probably forever-best thing I've ever done for my health. 🧡
What about people who struggle with gaining weight? I was in my mid 30s before I reached 100 lbs and I really tried to gain. I hated being so thin. There was no internet or advise at the time and of course I went straight to a sugar diet eating what ever I wanted. Now I'm paying for it. I'm not overweight but I have all sorts of immune issues and serious brain fog. I've been low-carb and intermittent fasting for over a year now and I do see some improvement in my health but the fog has yet to lift.
I actually did the "snack all day" diet like around 17 years ago and I did actually lose weight from it. The theory for that diet was to keep your metabolism revved up all day long. Sounded logical. I was also in my late 20's when I did that diet so that could have been why I lost weight on it because of my age my metabolism was higher. I would never do it now at 44! HAHA. On the occasional day I get off my intermittent fasting a bit now and I hate it when that happens because then I feel SO hungry for like the next two or three days before my body gets used to the fasting again
Since 4:00am this morning I have reached 24 hours without food…so far so good I had my coffee this morning a dab of cream (not my normal amount) and then ACV and Lemon water and in between water with lemon and before I go to bed I will have another ACV in my water…I was very surprised I wasn’t hungry when I got up …. but I will comment again in a day or two…my goal is 5 day’s 😊
THANK YOU FOR THIS VIDEO!! Because I'm type 1 diabetic, I've ALWAYS been skinny, but since diabetes I can't gain weight! I'm 109lb and I've been trying to gain weight for a year. So thank you, I'm going to try this 17 snack plan (while maintaining glucose levels myself) and see if it works!😁💕👌
Just curious, i used to be able to put on fat around 16 but I am 19 now and I am so lean and dry I hate it, no matter what its like my body doesnt process the calories. Could I have adult type 1? I really dont know why I’m like this now. When I was 16 I was 5’6 and now I’m 5’9 so could that be the reason? I just dont think that makes sense.
"If you are not sure about something, then rub it against a piece of paper. If the paper turns clear, then it's your window to weight gain." - Dr. Nick
I've always been skinny. I'm the heaviest I've ever been at only about 150lbs as a 5'9" male. This video might explain why. Due to ADHD, I never enjoyed meal prep, cooking, cleaning, and all that. I didn't like snacks either since it was the same thing over and over. I would get bored quick. I adapted by only eating 1 to 2 times a day, but in HUGE portions. Like 1000-2000+ calories huge. If it wasn't 1000+ calories, I wasn't interested in eating it. It was basically intermittent fasting. In terms of time spent eating, it'd be less than an hour a day, but I'd scarf down 2000-3000 calories in that time. Sometimes even 4000 if I indulged in drinks! Despite that, I never went over about 150lbs. My job also requires a lot of walking (~20,000+ steps a day), so that also helps. Despite a very poor diet, I'm 150lbs and in relatively decent shape.
I have been following your youtube channel for 1 year now, theres no doctors like dr. Berg, Thenk you and God always bless you. Regards from Indonesia💖
There is a documentary called "Supersize me". You should watch that. The guy goes on a diet of McDonalds meals for one whole month. He gains 24.5 pounds. That's what McDonalds, and fast food in general, can do to your body.
I've been on keto for a full year now, I started off at 27 stone 4 lbs, and am now 16 stone 8lbs, I was incredibly sceptical when I started keto, but the difference, not just visually is insane, my skin is better, even my mood and memory are better, people haven't liked to ask how, why or what's been happening, it's been a nice reaction. Intermittent fasting was the real game changer, that made a massive difference. If I could give anyone any advice at all, it's stay off the diet and zero drinks, and avoid the bars that contain maltitol, that stuff seems to be ok, it really isn't. These videos have really helped, maltodextrin is next on the list of foods to avoid, it's unnerving to discover how much it's in. I feel now as if I understand the part food/snacking has on all of your body, not just feeling full at meal times. It's a pity that here in the UK people seem to be as poorly educated on nutrition, as they are elsewhere. Thank you for your content.
Calories do work. I lost 130 pounds doing 2000 calories. I didn't limit carbs. Aside from a few months in 2019 going from 330 to 300. I lost first 30 ish pounds working my job no diet. It's intense cardio. Lost from 300 to 230 by anabolic diet. High protein low fat. I do low carb if I'm craving after a cheat day. Also helps water retention for quick results. It's a great tool and good if you diabetic. I also fasted 16/8 most of that weight loss. I am now over working and my willpower is not where it was so my appetite is high and need to do low carb for awhile to get back on track. Or get more willpower and stick with it till it's not a struggle anymore. I went overboard on my birthday and got lazy dieting and now I'm paying for it. So I been losing and gaining for months. But I'm kinda happy to be where I am. I still want to lose another 30 pounds. My goal is to get to the 230s again and then maintain for a bit then get to the 220s
this is actually super useful for me. im 21 and 114 pounds. can never seem to put on weight because of my metabolism and its very annoying to maintain. got it from my mom. maybe this can get me to 125. thats really all i want lol

Good day to you dr. Berg I watch some videos of people that were visiting St Petersburg Russia a lot of people there said that most of the people are in good shape or skinny compared to us
Dr. Berg this was funny thank you. But what to do for people who are underweight (as I am) and really do want to gain weight. Can you make a video on that? Cause believe me it is really hard!
I'm a 30 year old, 165cm tall female and i only weigh 50 kilos. All my life I've been underweight. It would be wonderful if you could give actual tips on gaining healthy weight
I was never able to gain weight, so here is the recipe to get fat quick, get an overnight job and drink cocacola all night long to stay awake, munch some chips on, and sleep 3 hours a day during the day time wake up and eat and go back to sleep for two more hours wake up and eat go back to work repeat, i gained 55 lbs in less than a year, took me 3 years of eating clean and cycling like a maniac to reverse it.
need more vids on how to gain weight. i've been underweight my whole life and can never break past a certain point. eating more doesnt work as it just makes me feel sick to overeat and i cant sustain that routine.
I understand what this video was doing but it would be great if you could make an real video for people who actually struggle to gain and maintain weight. Love your advice.
Cows, although they eat grass which is carbohydrates, actually don't convert much of it to glucose. Their microbes ferment it and convert it to short chain fatty acids, which the cow absorbs and utilizes for energy. 70-80 percent of their daily calories come from fat. In fact, it's scientifically correct to say that ruminants are on ap high fat, low carb diet.
Hello dr.Berg could you make a video on how to gain weight while doing I/F and keto. Some of us ( very few) Are skinny. Iam doing i/f and keto for longevity.
It's definitely harder on keto, but not impossible. You're gonna have to make sure you eat more calories than you burn. Make sure you get .5 to 1 gram of protein per lbs of body weight. Then fill the rest of your appetite with as much keto friendly calories as possible. Also, cut down on the fasting. You're not gonna gain weight on keto unless you're eating often. I'd say fast no more than once a week at the absolute most. Probably better to do it once every two weeks. If you're only worried about longevity.....I would cut the fasting out to maybe a couple times the next year until you've gained you're goal weight.
Hey doc, I’m 31, 140 pounds. I want to gain weight, but struggle due to esophageal cancer in my early twenties. I had an esophogectomy and it seems to have changed my entire digestive system. Any tips for weight gain?
Dr Berg is my go to guy for knowledge. I've learned so much. I want to thank you so much! Your videos have changed my life for the best! There is no other knowledge that the people of this country need more than this given by you. Nothing is more important than your health. It's knowledge that can change the world.
So beer is a grain that converts to sugar. One can drink light beer all day and not be terribly drunk. I have done that. No more though because the body seems to get acclimated to lots of beer, but it's just sugar cravings like the doc says. Now, one beer has the same affect on me as eating ice cream: snooz-ville and buzz-ville.
Thank you, Dr.Berg, I've followed your instructions for 2 years, and my weight dropped from 72kg to 48kg. I'm 51 yrs old. I do appreciate your help. Now I'm focusing on prostate swelling problem, and oily hair/face symptom. Any suggestions ?
Susan Powter, the Stop the Insanity lady was all about whole grains and eating "high quality foods" It works out that if you exercise 10 hours a day, it will appear as if the food is the answer.
Thanks Dr. Berg for all your amazing videos and advice.. Am on a successful weight loss journey and starting to enjoy fasting and seeing the changes Happening over time.. 🙌🙏. I remember snack all day diet that's how I got this big 🤣🤣🤣
Agree! And when you “graze” all day you have to remember to constantly have snacks on you when you go places. Otherwise, you’ll “graze” all day on drive thru food. 🤮
The minute you said "Say you're auditioning for a movie" I thought of Christian Bale. And yup, there was the picture of Christian Bale, looking only slightly less smoking hot than usual.
in omad and keto. in july got covid, i'm off weight loss program for a while. back eating 3 times a days (rice, flours base foods, etc), snacking sweat, eating fruits and consumes a lot medicines and vitamine. in 8 days. i gain almost 6kg. and the worst is that became a habit. really struggling back on track. my mind and stomach keep asking for foods again and again.
As much as there are people out there having a hard time loosing weight, there are also people like me that have a hard time gaining weight. However we need to do it the healthy way.
Just to say, I have asked how to regain weight! After having to give up work, after a broken tailbone, not able to do my 6 kilometre walk 5 days a week, I have chronic arthritis as well, throughout my entire spine! Over the last 3 years, I’m down to 47 kilos, I eat well, my health tests are ok, stress can cause awful circumstances as well as coping with pain.
I can’t afford to buy all of those snacks. Even when chips and chocolate are half price special. Don’t think I could give up on training as well. Oh well, I guess I will struggle to gain weight.
Another keto doctor I watch sometimes said you could grab an olive or avocado any time you HAD to have a snack. Any thoughts on that? They are pretty fatty.
Exactly "they're pretty fatty". If you have retrained your system and you are now a 'fat burning Ketovore', then it's not a problem. Sugary processed carbs are the real enemy.
Should long distance runners fast? I’m running long distances (30km) once a week as well as interval training several days a week for a total of 6 days of running per week in preparation for a marathon. Im not sure if I should still be skipping breakfast and fasting? Thanks.
Good question. I went mountain climbing this spring. My guide would stop every hour. He said we need to carb up. I did this the previous year. All the carbs made me sick. I am Keto for 3 years. This year I took a small bottle of Olive Oil along. I would drink 1 to 2 Oz of good quality Olive Oil with water each hour. I felt good and had good endurance. My suggestion is to try.
DR Berg, you have been talking about losing weight. How about doing some videos for people who want to gain weight healthily? I am 161cm, 49kg, BMI 19, 20.8% body fat. Skeletal muscle mass 20.5kg and body fat mass 10.2kg. I want to gain some weight, another 4kg of muscles and 2kg of fat. How can I do that with the keto diet and IF? Hope to hear a reply from u. Btw, I am 53 and has menopaused for a year and lost a lot of weight (esp muscles) after I menopaused
Explains how ppl that are constantly snacking are constantly hthgry, so they will have a far more difficult time switching to intermittent fasting. Sad how there's so many supermarket snack products out there as well.
It actually works! I myself lost 25 pounds so far.. The only thing I did is following the plan of intermittent fasting, I tried 18 - 6 plan (where you eat 2 meals a day within 6 hours and not eating anything for 18 hours) - during the 18 hours I do still drink water, ACV with lemon, Tea and coffee with no sugar and no cream. serious cut on junk processed food and sugary drinks. On occasions like birthday parties or family gathering I still enjoy snacks, ice cream, cake and all other goodies, healthier choices though.

Dr Berg you are hilarious, mincing your words as you talk about 17 snacks. It must have been rough on you talking about 6 meals and 17 snacks. I have lost 35 plus pounds on IF keto and your videos.
10 more go but on a plateau. 😊
Then have one big binge carb day to trip it up and then fast for 24hrs with one meal a day right after a couple of times then just regular keto again..i do this once a week and weight starts to drop again and i get to treat myself...but losing desire to treat like before.
Picked up your channel 3 years ago when I was looking for some education on lowering my high my blood pressure, been hooked ever since,.You have a more comforting and pleasant way about things the humor is great too. Its an easy follow just have to stick to the guide lines ,its definitely not easy in the beginning but what helps you through is the early results that pushes you to continue . Thanks Dr Berg.

Clever
Actually both are either stored or burned! The problem is eating the wrong carbs too often or at the wrong time.
@@richardmiddleton7770 Have you heard of the Insulin Index? That's where I am coming from. You can eat the right carbs too often, too.
Can i do it ? I'm 21 will i lose weight even if im insulin resistant.
I'm 23 and I eat like a tank I got stronger went from 190 to 300.

Me too.

That’s awesome 👏

Good for you.. but i think is the wrong comment section:))

Finally RUclips recommends something useful
Cows, although they eat grass which is carbohydrates, actually don't convert much of it to glucose. Their microbes ferment it and convert it to short chain fatty acids, which the cow absorbs and utilizes for energy.
70-80 percent of their daily calories come from fat. In fact, it's scientifically correct to say that ruminants are on ap high fat, low carb diet.
Hello dr.Berg could you make a video on how to gain weight while doing
I/F and keto. Some of us ( very few)
Are skinny. Iam doing i/f and keto for longevity.
Best guess is just add more to your calorie intake. You're losing weight so it's likely you're not getting enough calories.
If you're only worried about longevity.....I would cut the fasting out to maybe a couple times the next year until you've gained you're goal weight.

drinking beer all day might be the same
Ya if you fancy yourself being a useless drunk dummy.
