Thanks for the video. I have the same engine and year and its overheating. I took it out for the first time this year and the inlet that you use to flush the engine was open and it overheated. I had it towed in to be safe....$500 later. uggghh. Idles beautifully in the driveway but heats up under load on the water. Hopefully its the thermostat. Cant afford a mechanic to look at so I will have to try and fix myself. Videos like yours are very helpful.
Thanks man I do appreciate it getting towed in sucks I know the feeling lol if I was you I would look at the water pump impeller first if that looks good I would replace a thermostat I did both of mine at the beginning of the season but I have a feeling it's your water pump impeller when it's hooked to the hose in your driveway the water pressure forces its way to the engine an went in the lake it doesn't have enough suction to suck up the water I think it's a good place to start
Great info. I couldn't figure it out till I watched your video
thanks I do appreciate it I wish there was a video up when I started doing mine lol
Thank you so much ive been hunting to find info and this is what I needed
Awesome thanks!

Your right it was destroyed when I took it out. That is the problem for sure. Thanks again
I keep an impeller and thermostat in my tool bag on the boat in case something like that happens. Would save on a tow.
I also have 2 paddles on the boat.
I also go on a small lake for the first launch of the season.
Small stuff but makes a difference.
Great video .. I had impeller replaced last season so I’m assuming it’s overheating Bc of bad thermostat . Where do I access thermostat ?
The thermostats is on the front top beside alternator at the very first of my video you can see the thermostat housing
what made you replace the t-stat? just maintenance or were you having issues
Regular maintenance I replaces it every 2 to 3 years
Thx....I have same engine and am going to have to do mine....your right not much on RUclips......
What’s the part number for this thermostat? My Manual gives two different ones
I'll have to get back to you on that later tonight or tomorrow I should be able to get you the part number
Thanks.....
wow that garage looks cold oh wait it is
It is freaking freezing in Calgary this weekend!
