Nice. Also appears to be the same exact method for the 5.7 volvo penta.

Also, mine is a 2003, and it does not appear to have a gasket........is that normal?

the rubber hoses mine is starting to drip when I run my boat. Should I replace the entire hose or just replace the ring.. I'm not very good at fixing things LOL

Probably a dumb question but, do you know if my boat overheating at 3/4 throttle or more after a few mins could be from the Tstat? If I back the throttle down the temp alarm will immediately go away. I'm gonna change the Tstat today and I would like to backflush it as well because my old impeller started breaking apart at one point. I found the big chunk that broke off but lost some smaller pieces. I'm just wondering if there's a restriction or if it's the Tstat causing the temp alarm to go off when I'm cruising at like 3800 or higher RPM.

It could be a thermostat but if your impeller blades came apart I would check the thermostat housing real well when you have it out to make sure none of the blades are lodged in any of the water ports.

@@7soulcry same question for me ...I checked my impeller and it was in perfect condition......would that be the tstat?

@@joepiershalski5432 I know on the manifold sometimes the port openings that allow water to the manifold get plugged up with rust. I just had that happen to me today. Started over heating and the port holes was completely plugged up.

Question: the single hose on the right, rather than loosen the hose clamp (screw), I removed the crimp clamp at the lower end (like a dumbass). Is there a reason why this lower clamp is a crimp instead of a screw hose clamp?

I would've used some blue RTV on that gasket. No harm.
