@@MrCmon113 Isn't that what hard is suppose to be? Tedious and actually "hard". That is why its an option in game, it isnt for everybody. If you're just gonna bitch about how bad the design is, then maybe hard diffuculty isnt for you.

Well lets be honest here, the easy and normal mode is for the audience in general, just to enjoy the story, the hard mode is for medium rank gamers, really difficult at first but you get use to it, especially if you pass the tutorial there is no better teacher of learning the perfect evade move than here, and the very hard mode is for pro gamers, this kind of gamers know how to dodge perfectly, attacks timings everything to single detail, so there is no shame In trying this in any mode, anyone can try this game in any difficult mode, the story of this game is worth it
Normally I would play this hard, but combined with the unforgiving nature of the intro and bit of clunkiness and stiffness, I decided to play it on easy. Got tired of going back to the beginning and there's still more enemies after the initial boss with the saw.
Ok I read a better article or translation of this grimoire book the creator made. I googled and finally found the best explanation! Other words I was right. To many loose ends and not enough to make sense of the fact they were making replicants nonstop and they weren't 1312 years old. The game didnt put enough to answer many questions. Quote from the creator...Toko Taro, said that he wanted the game to be about Nier's struggle in finding his daughter, rather than being about the entire history and story of the world in the wake of the devastation caused by Drakengard 1's Ending E(or the entire story making more sense in Nier). He didnt plan on us asking so many questions due to his crazy no telling game. So to appease our questions he wrote the grimoire book. Ok! Now this makes sense! But its forced and he didnt actually put this in the game. He had to devise this and make it work for us to better understand the whole concept of the game. Yeah he didnt want us to ask questions and just concentrate on the father and daughter...what being human is and what a father is willing to do to save their child. See this is prime example of why I say put in a beginning middle and end that fully explains everything! It's like Dark souls as example. So much more hidden what and why and the game doesnt detail really anything. Hidden lore or items in bloodborne explain some but not all. So we are left to come up with our own theories. I also hate when they make a good game but has no sense to the point the world asks what?! So the creators then have to fill in dots that were never actually there. Anyways I now understand that original gestalt nier forced everything cause he was tired of waiting for a cure. They made the 2nd book but the book didnt have all its memories. So now team clone vs team gestalt is on!
@@HKobeni Yeah, thanks. I have been stuck at the start of the game for over a month now, trying to reach the first saving point on very hard.
It's not the difficulty that I am having troubles with. I love the difficulty. I hate the repetitiveness of the opening. If I had died 100x times to this boss on the hardest difficulty - fine. But I have to run through the entire prologue - a 5-10 minute slog of the same stuff. It should have had a checkpoint after the first "boss", since that's where the game itself begins and less about the philosophy. I have beaten DOOM 2016 on one life. Bosses and all. However you always get past the initial stages of the game to where it actually picks up. Oh and the fact that I play this game on Keyboard and Mouse isn't REALLY helping when the game was designed for Controllers. Just makes the prologue all the more difficult and that much more frustrating.
@@Catonzo It is a bit tedious but you just have to power through it and lock in towards the end. Sometimes a stupid death can be very frustrating for sure.
Great game, but it leaves a bad first impression. I can see why they put one of the endings at the beginning of the game, but the fact it doesn't give you checkpoints AT ALL is just cheap!
