  • DO NOT STRIKE THE PLUNGER'S OUTER BORE WITH EXCESSIVE FORCE.
KC Turbos is here to help you fix your sticking turbo vanes in your 6.7 Powerstroke.
Do not use a hammer to contact the outer bore of the VGT plunger! Hard focused strikes to this bore can make the Bore out of round and your plunger will be frozen!
Use gentle taps or light pressure from an air hammer with a wide, flat face as seen in this video to spread out the force! If you use a hammer, use gentle taps.
DO NOT STRIKE THE PLUNGER'S OUTER BORE WITH EXCESSIVE FORCE.

@anguscreek man that is rough, how could that have been avoided? My turbo has been acting like that vanes get stuck closed after about 5 minutes of driving and when I shut it off and turn olit back on it is back to normal. Not codes or anything to go off of though

@@jeffmeszaros5861 Some knowledge about the issue would have probably saved me a bunch of money. The bearing went in mine and was causing boost pressure issues, which the computer must have been trying to fix by commanding it to hold open. But mine wasn’t a gradual issue either, in the span of 15 miles the turbo let go and dumped enough oil out the back to lock the engine up. Lesson learned. Good luck with yours, powerful engines when they’re maintained.

Thanks for the video. My truck was making a deep throaty sound while towing and boost was around 35 psi. I shut the key off and the gauge started indicating normal. The oil temperature and power was normal, but the fuel economy looked a bit low (Maybe 2 or 3 mpg lower). I'll try this the next time instead of purchasing a MAP sensor.

Not exactly the same, but my 6.7 cummins is actin a Foo right now. Its doing same thing, exhaust brake quits working, and it has a much deeper grumble. Or it starts working again, and has the jet engine whistle. Then the other day something new, went to leave a stop sign and no power whatsoever and smoking black like crazy. Pulled over and tried revving it up a few times, then it cleared and started working again. Thanks for the video!

I put a 2015 turbo on my 13 and only in winter weather under 30 degrees outside my veinswill stop working until i shut off and restart the vehicle. Also, once I restart the truck, the veins work fine until i stop moving. If i come to a stop sign then move again, they will be shut off.. But if i run that stop sign they will keep working. That is my rumble tune, which runs perfectly in summer, but every winter the veins quit working till resart. I have a hiss tune that i have to use in the winter so the vgt works consistently.

Hi, i have a Kia CRDI Turbo diesel. My car doesn't have any code. But i can hear a whistle when accelerating. But at 22psi boost, then sudden power loss and engine running smooth again. Every time i press hard on the gas, boost goes to 22psi and car loss power like jerking. Ive check, no leaks exhaust manifold. Intake manifold cleaned. Egr cleaned. Oil level starting to decrease after a few thousand kilometers. Is it a sign of a bad turbo. But if i accelerated slowly, i manage to get the top speed of 200km/h. But slow and steady acceleration. If theres a sudden acceleration, it looses power. Btw, ive change the diesel filter, dpf cleaned. Engine flushing done. Im out of ideas. I scan using both hyundai center scanner and VeePeak scanner. No error code.

I have a P132B code on my 6.7. At full throttle I'll maybe make 9 to 10 pounds of boost. I have a wireless OBD2 reader and I can clear the code and boost comes back without cycling the key. This only happens maybe once every 600 to 800 miles. I've changed my MAP sensor (had a lot of build up), I've checked for boost leak. Any other direction you can suggest?
