I'm so glad this video still exists on the internet. After all these years this routine remains one of my favourites. Especially the beat juggling, mind blowing then, mind blowing now. Make me think about all those turntablist videos I'd collected years ago before RUclips was a common thing that are sitting on a long lost hard drive somewhere never to be found again. I regret not keeping all that now.
This is my favorite routine of DJ Vajra's. He won the World DMC championship today and I feel this is one the best routines he ever did. At 3 minutes and 50 secs, you see the real DJ Vajra, his personality and incredible talent. One of my inspirations. Well done brother. Congrats.
One of the most precise sets I've heard and I can't believe this is 7 years old. This is one of my favourite ever DMC sets and would still beat most stuff being put out today. Good luck in US final and hopefully the worlds. Bring back the golds!
Watched this last night pissed and commented, watching again! This is just so so so good, how this guy didn’t win in the mid 00s..it’s still proper next level!
Ive commented before on this vid, but watching it again made me appreciate it even more. GOTTA LOVE THAT VIDEO GAME SEQUENCE. Gotta give props to this SET.
Hi Vajra, I'm with my bro DJ sick and we are completely crazy to listen to such clean scratches and pass pass routines. Thanks for that. You are the One. ;)
One of the best routines ive seen. Watched this hundreds of times and dont get bored. Love the bit about 4.55 onwards. Absolutely mint the way he drops it out, cuts the left deck up to fuck and then just brings it back in like its nothing to do it. Mint mate.
i think you should've gotten first place man. this is such an awesome routine. i mean other than that dj david routine in '91 this is the best I've seen
every time i come back to this video i am blown away if i was a judge u would give 10s accross the board.. style, originality, scratching, beat juggling, drumming. i would rate all those a 10/10. those judges were out of their minds makin you only 3rd
Still just so good, we have gone through the producer era and are back at the real era again..I have no doubt this routine could have won various dmcs in the last five years again. This is what people want to see , could you imagine rocking up without a dvs and busting this!
I showed my friend this video.........and he thought the video was sped up to make it appear that that this man had super-human speed. This guy is CRAZY FAST!!
hey chris, i've been watching this for years... will you talk about the scratch you begin with on the "game over" section? it's something like 64th note rubs on the record and two clicks on the fader? ahhhh!! haha love it bro hope all is well
DJ Vajra, if you dont mind me asking, how long did it take you to put that routine together? And how long have you been practicing turntablism in total!? Just curious. That is the sickest, most well rehersed routine I've ever seen. Bar none. Well done mate.
hello vajra i watch this routine since i start dj-ing about 3 years ago i gained a little skill and I really wish as other djs wish to scratch that video game beat can you help us? I know i ask a little much maybe that beat represent a part of you and you don;t want to share it.. I understand that PEACE from Romania!
I agree with most of you, he totally kicks ass and i think he should be a world champion. I think it's not about 6min that they give you for routine, the best one is best every day (on competition you may have skipping problems, nerves can eat you and other shit like this). I've seen this film about i don't know 80-90 or even 100 times and still didn't found anything like it.
This is such a timeless set only the video quality and the wax give it away, so sick! it makes me sad to think that serato has removed a chunk of skill from the art. DOHS DRUMS DOE :O
wtf happened to these super good routines with real vinyl (not serato and stuff like that) like this one? I can't believe it started going backwards after this..
I always come back to this video years later
Dude this routine is so dope! It did then, and still does, blow me away 👊
2024 I just watched it again(at least 20 times) and it gets more baffling everytime.
Watched this a lot over the last 15yrs.
Always cheers me up.🤗
Same here mate!

One of the earliest youtube videos i saw and i still remember this routine.
i grew up admiring this and im so glad its still up
One of the most precise sets I've heard and I can't believe this is 7 years old. This is one of my favourite ever DMC sets and would still beat most stuff being put out today. Good luck in US final and hopefully the worlds. Bring back the golds!
This has to be one of the sheer greatest DJ performances of all time! Speed of Precision, drum scratches of Qbert, and works routines like Craze!
Glad to see this vid is still up! Big Ups.
My favorite battle routine of all time. Vajra kills it.
Still coming back to watch this routine 18 years later!
Watched this last night pissed and commented, watching again!

One of the best routines ive seen. Watched this hundreds of times and dont get bored.
Love the bit about 4.55 onwards. Absolutely mint the way he drops it out, cuts the left deck up to fuck and then just brings it back in like its nothing to do it. Mint mate.
+Paul Lewis My sentiments exactly.. this is one of my top 3 favorite sets of all time. watch it all the time.
I came back to this fantastic routine
i think you should've gotten first place man. this is such an awesome routine. i mean other than that dj david routine in '91 this is the best I've seen
Hi Vajra, Thanks for your invitation to check your vids. But Of course, I have already checked them several times. Tell us when you come in Europe !
Best routine I've ever seen. Makes me wanna buy new fingers! Vajra, you know who it is, can't touch this!
every time i come back to this video i am blown away if i was a judge u would give 10s accross the board.. style, originality, scratching, beat juggling, drumming. i would rate all those a 10/10. those judges were out of their minds makin you only 3rd
One of my all time favorite routines!!!! I really believe this set could/should have overtaken ieMerge if there wasn't the skip during the US finals.
Was that in DC?
Still just so good, we have gone through the producer era and are back at the real era again..I have no doubt this routine could have won various dmcs in the last five years again.
This is what people want to see , could you imagine rocking up without a dvs and busting this!

I find it hard to pick a favourite turntablist but Vajra and Skratch Bastid are easily in my top 3. Always inspires me to hit the decks.
best #realdjing routine ever!!!🌎🏆
Holy cow! Anyone that can get that sound outta that mixer deserves a nobel prize!
4:01 - the wave and smile before the scratch routine... sick!
hey chris,
i've been watching this for years...

Still some of the best drumming ever, and routine.
Real DJ’s talk with their hands. Still one of the best!

DJ Vajra, if you dont mind me asking, how long did it take you to put that routine together? And how long have you been practicing turntablism in total!?
Just curious. That is the sickest, most well rehersed routine I've ever seen. Bar none.

i loved the part with Xevious in the beat!
I'd like to see a drumming/scratch battle between him,D Styles and Q bert !
I agree with most of you, he totally kicks ass and i think he should be a world champion. I think it's not about 6min that they give you for routine, the best one is best every day (on competition you may have skipping problems, nerves can eat you and other shit like this).
