If your doctor gives you something to help you sleep research it, many oncologist like to prescribe gabapentin for help with sleep and neuropathy, my daughter is a highly trained flight nurse and told me gabapentin is highly addictive and after using it for a while you have to ween yourself off of it or suffer withdrawals. I used my wife's OTC melatonin to help sleep, and there have been studies that show melatonin actually makes cancer cells less resistant to treatment. As others have said, treatments do get a little worse, but they seem to level out after a while, either that or your body just gets used them. For me folfox was the worst part by far, and after folfox was done radiation was a walk in the park and the oral chemo I took (Capecitabine) (Xeloda) during radiation had no side effects at all. I actually gained energy, strength and weight back during radiation. Keep up the positive attitude and remember chemo will be over soon enough.
