The Lion King: A Pre-Broadway Special

- Before roaring on Broadway, "The Lion King" had a pre-Broadway tryout in Minneapolis. Here is a look at the magic of "The Lion King" before it was a legendary show with a look at rehearsal, costumes, and sets. Look for appearances by original cast members like Heather Headley,Tsidii de Loka, and the late Jason Raize, as well as director Julie Taymor. Also look for snippets from the original production in Minneapolis.
For Disney enthusiasts, Jason Raize was also the voice of Denahi in "Brother Bear," Samuel E. Wright (Mufasa) was Sebastian in "The Little Mermaid" and Kron in "Dinosaur," and Heather Headley won a Tony for her amazing performance in the title role of Disney's show "Aida."

So sad Jason is not here today to celebrate the 25th anniversary of The Lion King in 2022. Rest in peace King Jason/Simba.
Jason Raize I met him when I saw him perform at the Pantages Theater down in Hollywood, Los Angles. Hearing what happened when I found out was so devastating. He'll always be Broadway's original Simba. Rest in peace

I sincerely believe he is the best ever Simba on stage. I have never seen another actor perform Simba with the conviction and sincerity that he displayed. What a devastating end to a talented star.
Today, February 3, 2024 marks 20 years since Jason's death. It's a shame he decided to take his own life too soon. I don't judge him, he had his reasons and we must respect that, I just hope he now is in a better place and at peace. Always remembered and never forgotten. Rest in peace Jason Rothenberg Raize.
That goes for Samuel E. Wright, too.

Happy 30th anniversary to one of the greatest animated movies of all time. They changed our lives and our thoughts during to this day. And shout out but rest in heaven to real Simba and Mufasa themselves (Jason and Samuel) we love and miss you guys. 🦁🦁🦁🦁🦁🦁🦁🦁🦁

Next Year it will be 20 years since The Lion King: The Musical opened on Broadway in 1997 at The New Amsterdam Theater in New York City. I think They should do a Live Broadcast for its 20th anniversary that will be airing on ABC,NBC,and PBS in October of 2017.
They should do a 20th Anniversary special for THE LION KING.
Exactly i mean i've seen the Musical since 2003(In Cleveland before Seeing in New York in 2013 ten Years Later) i mean that would be Exiciting to do right a Lion King Broadway 20th Anniversary Live Broadcast nice.
