+george I'm not Caucasian, I'm actually mixed race of Indian, Colored and White. Colored is a race here in South Africa, not a derogatory word for us. It's just the name of our race, a large group of mixed race people. And I'm proud because the language that they sing in, is in fact Zulu, spoken here in South Africa☺

arabian nights was a weak choice to compete with the lion king opener...he should have gone with the genie song.
Em Hullum If you're referring to a friend like me, that's an amazing song but it's a solo. Arabian Nights is Aladdins opener it has amazing lyrics, a great melody and it's better to show case a big group. Again Lion King has the better sound track but the Genie led his cast in a beautiful, fun performance.
i think they should have gone with the Prince Ali entrance song. That would have been even more awesome! But anyways, OMG this video gives me LIFE! It just makes my childhood smile!

I mean I absolutely love this, but my fave part of all time was at 1:56 when the Lion King cast all turned to the female vocalist about to hype her up and everything like you can hear her with the rest of the group and then came her solo and they're over there hyped and everything. I live for that.

The lion kind music is the best blend between western and African music ever. As an African musician who has lived in the US for 21yrs, this is very inspiring.

Lion king took this one. No bias. It's just that the lion king is the most popular Disney production and their harmony and passion just made me feel like singing along even though i don't know the arrangement.

One of my favorite things about this is how the Lion King cast is supportive of each other. When it's an individual's time to shine and sing their particular part - the other cast members are giving them props and pumping it up for them. I love to see that.

What I love about this is how they all have these giant smiles. Very heartwarming video.
This right here is how battles should be fought. Not with war. Not with violence. With song & dance. The end result will produce more understanding than any act of violence could.
So here's a kudos for the Aladdin group at the end. All the way through I was wondering what song from Aladdin could possibly work as a counter to "Circle of Life," and then, BAM, they pull out the least remembered song from the movie, enhanced and arranged for chorus! They're clearly nowhere near as polished as the Lion King cast, but damned if they don't make it up in pure fun.

The genie is such a cool guy. I remember meeting him after seeing Aladdin and he talked with all of us on my theatre class trip.
I admit it I cried. I couldn't help it. The first time I heard this my soul stirred and I felt like I was back home for minute.
